Brandy Ferris, 42, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of scheme to defraud, one count of racketeering and one count of money laundering, according to a news release from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.

According to police, Ferris applied for an American Express corporate credit card in the name of the City of Fort Walton Beach. Between May 2019 and Feb. 2, she allegedly made unauthorized purchases for herself totaling more than $50,000.
