Wilmington's closed Ideal Cement factory has history as iconic, unlikely filming location

Of all the locations in the Wilmington area that have been immortalized in movies or on TV since the film industry started up here in the mid 1980s, the former Ideal Cement factory stands out. The massive plant has been closed since 1982 but even so, it's hosted a dozen or more film productions over the decades, from movies like “The Crow,” “Super Mario Bros.” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" to such TV series as "Revolution" and "Under the Dome."
