Police have identified the man who died in a crash involving a car and motorcycle in west Gastonia Friday afternoon. Donald Lee Price, 67, died after his motorcycle and a Buick passenger car collided along Bessemer City Road at Holland Memorial Church Road. Price was a big name in the local drag racing and motorcycle communities. Nicknamed Dr. Don or simply Doc, Price owned Bessemer City Motorcycle Shop, a staple of the town for at least three decades.

Mitchell showed a temperature of 36 degrees, with a wind chill of 25 degrees and wind gusts of 22 mph, at of 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
