North Carolina Alcohol Beverage Control Commission suspended a Gastonia nightclub’s alcohol sales permits Saturday after six people, including two off-duty police officers, were injured in a shooting there Thursday night.
This isn’t the first time Remedies restaurant and nightclub was the center of a criminal investigation, according to North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.
Since the nightclub opened on Union Road in 2017, illegal drug sales, disorderly conduct and many other offenses have drawn Gastonia Police to Remedies regularly, leaving other parts of the city unprotected, according to affidavits from Gastonia Police Chief Travis Brittain and many other officers.
