Former Sheriff Robert Graves to run again in 2022

View descriptionShare

Former Randolph County Sheriff Robert Graves announced he plans to run for sheriff again in 2022. Graves served as sheriff from February 2016 to December 2018. He was appointed part of the way through the four-year term after his predecessor, Maynard B. Reid, Jr., died while in office. Graves was defeated during the 2018 Republican primary by current Sheriff Gregory J. Seabolt. The 2018 primary became heated, and the two Republican party candidates were only separated by a few hundred votes.  In a Facebook post, Graves said he disagrees with decisions Seabolt has made while in office in relation to personnel, operations and finances.
