Eastern North Carolina has its first real threat of snowfall potentially making its way into the area late Thursday night.
As of now, the National Weather Service in Newport is predicting a 30% chance of precipitation on Thursday, according to their website.
NWS Meteorologist Tom Lonka explained it is pretty rare for it not to snow during winter in ENC, however, the chances are still not great.
