The demolition of the five-story, former Lexington State Bank building, which has loomed over uptown for the past 40 years, is slated to begin in May.
On Monday, the Lexington City Council approved a major zoning permit to First National Bank to remove the current structure and replace it with a one-story building to be used as a local branch of the bank.
