Rhandzu and Rhulani Chauke , Constance’s daughters are also a part of the business. They are based in Soweto but operate nationwide. They sell directly to the public through wholesale channels and also supply reputable supermarkets with their products

The prevalence of Gender Based Violence in South Africa has attracted greater focus over recent years as the stories of victims - young and old - continue to come to the forefront. The annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence from 25 November to 10 December is a period where South African society continues to work to create a culture of awareness and fostering a space where the stories of victims are believed. 

The Human Sciences Research Council published the first South African National Gender-Based Violence Study (2022) with a formal handover to the Minister of Women, Youth, and People with Disabilities on 18 November.

Speaking to us about the key findings of the report is Dr. Whadi-Ah Parker, Senior Research Specialist in Public Health, Societies and Belonging at the Human Science Research Council .
