Ria Reen (Presidential Khoe-Sān Imbongi). Ria Reen is a pioneering Khoe and San Imbongi praise singer, poet and cultural advocate from the !Xuhn community of Platfontein in Kimberley, Northern Cape, recognised as the first Imbongi for her nation and a custodian of ancestral oral traditions.

In 2026 she made history as the ceremonial first voice at the State of the Nation Address, delivering a praise poem before President Cyril Ramaphosa at Cape Town City Hall, representing Khoe and San heritage on a major national platform.
