G Flip gave themselves one year to make their solo career happen. They wrote songs in their bedroom, built a spreadsheet of the Australian music industry and prepared a live show before anyone had booked them to perform.

Then one song changed everything.

In this conversation with Kate Langbroek, G shares the determination behind what might have looked like overnight success, and the story of the teacher who recognised their potential long before the rest of the world caught up.

They talk about a childhood obsession with drums, finding the language to understand their gender, and the extraordinary self-belief that kept them going. G also speaks openly about their relationship with Chrishell at the time of recording, falling in love in the public eye and the emotional experience of trying to start a family through IVF.
