Benson Boone knows what people say about him. He’s heard the Harry Styles comparisons, the Freddie Mercury references and the assumptions about everything from his jumpsuits to his politics. He’s even had strangers tell him they thought he’d be a “real douchebag”.

We know No Filter listeners love a great interview so we’re sharing an interview from our sister podcast, The Spill. No Filter executive producer and Spill guest host Bree Player sits down with Benson to talk about what people get wrong about him, why those comparisons can be frustrating, and the imposter syndrome that follows him into rooms full of his musical heroes.

For someone so confident onstage, life away from it can take some figuring out. Benson opens up about adjusting to the quiet after a tour, his constantly racing mind and how a song about losing one person became a love letter to the people who show up for him.
