Leaders from all six New England states gathered in Lowell today to talk about whether nuclear power could help meet the region’s growing demand for electricity. The one-day summit focused on newer, advanced nuclear technology, with discussions about safety, waste, and how these smaller reactors could fit into the region’s energy future. The meeting comes as Gov. Maura Healey pushes to repeal a Massachusetts law requiring a statewide vote before a new nuclear plant can be built. Dan was joined by Deb Katz, Executive Director of the Citizens Awareness Network, to discuss the group’s position on nuclear power.
