A Boston Police officer has been charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of an alleged carjacker. Officer Nicholas O’Malley pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance. This appears to be the first time a Boston officer has faced criminal charges for an on-duty death in decades. Larry Calderone, President of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, joined us this evening to discuss the details of the case including the police report.
