The COVID pandemic led to the biggest pet ownership boom in Australia and it's aftershocks are being felt across the sector.

From a worsening staff shortage, to owners who aren't fully aware of the responsibilities owning a pet, veterinarians are feeling the strain and it seems to only get worse.

Dr Cristy Secombe is a veterinary and the Head of Veterinary and Public Affairs at the Australian Veterinary Association and she joins John Stanley to share just how much of strain the sector is under.
