Rex Airlines have announced that in 2024 they plan to pioneer the age of electric aircraft, with Wagga Wagga set to host the trials. 

The trial will begin with the King Air twin turboprop aircraft, and if all goes well, Rex could have some of its Saab 340 fleet outfitted with electric motors in less than ten years' time.
