Chuck Yeager, the man who first broke the sound barrier has passed away at 97.

The news was announced by his wife, Victoria on Chuck's Twitter.

Chuck was only a 24 year old captain when on October 14, 1947 Chuck made history upon the bright orange Bell X-1 Aircraft.
