'Our volunteers are heroes': Calls to Lifeline surge during restrictions

View descriptionShare

Chances are someone you know is struggling with mental illness, and we owe a lot to groups like Lifeline for being able to offer support. Social distance restrictions are leaving a lot of us feeling lonely and disconnected, and a report published by Lancet yesterday has outlined concerns about increased risks of suicide.

Catching up with Lifeline Chairman John Brogden brings to light that Lifeline has seen an increase in calls for help while we are experiencing coronavirus restrictions.

If you need someone to talk to, Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 13 11 14.
