Thursday Pt1: Lions statement game vs. Ravens, More impressed by Dolphins O or Browns D, 'Kelly Green' Eagles

Published Oct 19, 2023, 3:54 PM

Part one of the GMFB podcast begins with hosts Jamie Erdahl, Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager and Jason McCourty analyzing what it would mean for the Detroit Lions if they defeated the Ravens in Baltimore on Sunday. Peter leads a game called “this or that” where everyone answers if the Dolphins offense or the Browns defense has been the more impressive unit this season. Later, a game of mixed bag trivia is played which focuses on the “Kelly Green” Philadelphia Eagles.

Good Morning Football, What's Up?

Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky, live here in New York City. As always, it's Thursday, October nineteenth.

I'm Jamie ar and All.

There is Kyle Brandt, There's Peter Schraeger, and there's Jason mccordy.

Here we go.

Week seven starts tonight and it's a huge game, the big easy when the Jacksonville Jaguars stake on the New Orleans Saints Jagged Saints.

It's Thursday Night Football.

It's tonight on eight fifteen pm Eastern on Prime Video, also available on NFL Plus. As always, let's start our morning, shall we, with our very own NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport rap sheet. Good day to you. We start with Thursday Night Football. First of all, great tides, Purple, what's the latest of trouble?

And Trevor Lawrence the biggest question mark heading into this big time game tonight. Trevor Lawrence, officially listed as question wele dealing with, was described to me as a pretty slight knee sprain. Now teams before as you guys know, Thursday night don't really practice, they do more walkthroughs.

But CJ.

Bether, the backup, did get most of the reps during the walkthrough. However, there is, for my understanding, some confidence that Trevor Lawrence will still be able to go. In fact, don't just take my word for it, that's literally what Trevor Lawrence said. He said he is confident that he will be able to get out there. Just want to make sure before the game that he's moving okay, not as much pain and just can really get the job done.

The team did promote.

Nathan Wore for the practice squad just in case for extra reinforcements. Meanwhile, a couple other injuries we are tracking in a week that seems filled with big name injuries. Josh Allen, the Bills starting quarterbacks, au for a right shoulder injury in that game last week. He assured reporters, as did Sean McDermott, head coach, said he would be fine going forward, but he was limited in practice yesterday. So another one that we would be keeping her eye on. And then it does seem that the Detroit Lions, who had some injuries at the running back position David Montgomery not going to play this week with a rib cartilage issue. They're getting healthy in other ways. Jamier Gibbs, they're rookie who they really really like, miss last couple of games with a hamstring. He sounds like he is trending to play limited at practice yesterday. And then Samuel Ported a really really good rookie tight end part of that star studded rookie class calf injury also limited, all seeming like he's.

Going to play.

Well.

That's good.

That's good to the Lions because they have a huge matchup against the Ravens on the road this weekend raps sheet, thank.

You so much.

It's the five and one Lions. Make sure you put that crown on them, and it's a road game against the foreign two Ravens. Statement game for Detroit. Consider this, if Desroit leaves Baltimore with a win on Sunday, Peter, what does that translate?

It means they're no longer they have butt team.

And I mean that, I think we're only in week seven, but Art and to figure out who's a contender and who's a pretender. And if you lose to the Ravens, and you lose to the Seahawks in the first seven weeks. But you clean up with teams like the Packers, and like the Bears, and like the teams that they've been beaten out of the last couple of weeks, the Buccaneers, you go through it.

And the Panthers they're a good teams.

Yeah, but when they face those real teams, they ended up coming short.

The Ravens are a playoff too.

Like whether they make the playoffs or not, they come into these games. They've got John Harboss or a winning coach. They've got Lamar Jackson. That is a playoff team. And that stadium in Baltimore is no easy place to win.

You go in there the week after going into Tampa.

It's now you're stacking road victories against division leaders.

That's the real deal.

However, you lose this game, I think you open yourself into the subject of what a lot of teams have dealt with in recent years, where yeah, easy schedule, they took care of business. They want a bunch of games they should win. But when the playoffs come around home or away.

Yeah, but yeah, but the.

Lions are better than that, you know.

I think they went through their yet butt thing last year at the end of the season where they rotted off all those wins.

Yeah, but you know they started off one and say no more. Yeah, but like no more.

Yeah.

But you go into Baltimore, which Ravens need this one obviously, they're four and two, the Steelers are three and two, and you've got the Bengals and Browns is nipping.

At their heels. You win this game in Baltimore and you take care of business. You don't have to win by thirty, you have to win by twenty.

Just win the game, no more, yeah, butt, And I guess in November and in December when we're doing the let's look at the playoff picture, the Lions are number one, the Eagles are two, the forty nine ers, the.

Lions are one.

Yeah, but I don't think you talk about it because then it becomes that Seahawks loss early in the season, that's the one that it's yeah, but like, yeah, but it was early in the season. This team's for real. Now, don't lose this game. I don't want to be doing Yeah. But for the rest of the year talking about the Lions. One last no I mentioned yesterday on the show. They don't face a team with a winning record again right now, the way that it's done until week seventeen when they play the Cowboys. So they can get real fat on wins and they can beat up on a lot of teams, but if they lose to the Ravens, it might be yet.

But the whole way through, yeah, yeah, but is a killer.

You go home, you talk to your spouse and you feel like you're putting your best argument together and say, yeah, but it's just like it destroys everything that you've accomplished beforehand. And I look at this matchup and the Baltimore Ravens, they're a really good football team, and I think this is a good matchup because when one team does well, the other team counters that. You look at the Detroity Lions, Well, they've been really good at they haven't allowed a one hundred yard rusher. Well, the Baltimore Ravens are fifth in the NFL and rushing. Their team that hands the ball off. They have a quarterback that can take off. Although he's not doing it as much this season, he still has that capability. The Baltimore Ravens defense is really good against the pass, second in the league. That's something that Detroit with Jared gov has been able to go to Montgomery gets hurt last week. They throw the ball over forty times. He protect the ball and he makes plays. So you look at this matchup and Peter, you just said it. I look at the Baltimore Ravens. What they stand for, playing good defense, a tough team. Harball has been around there for a long time. You look at what the Lions are coming with Dan Campbell has brought in. He is trying to build a franchise in a team with a mindset that we're going to.

Go anywhere on the road, at home.

Overseas, wherever it takes place, and we're rolling in there to kick you in the teeth. These inviteeecaps, but that's the mentality that they want to have a tough nosed football team that run the ball, play really good defense, and find ways to win a sloppy type of win. That's what Baltimore has been all about. I remember a few weeks ago you were saying, I'm watching a Ray Lewis sit down with Rokwan Smith and they're watching film and they're talking about what it means to be a Raven and it's a linebacker running downhill, smacking somebody in the mouth. Rokwan Smith said this week it was like, yeah, they're playing good football, but I come from the show me business, so when we get out there, they're gonna have to show me that they're that good. So this is the type of matchup that I'm fired up to see because these two teams that want to play the same style of football and beat you out there.

Yeah.

But from the wife and stuff, oh my, it's like when you're playing that.

She goes, yeah, but show me business.

A lot, it's a lot. It's a lot.

If the Lions win this game, what would it mean? I think it would mean nothing. And I mean that as the most positive. I don't think it means squat. It means a five and one team is six and one. That's I'm not surprised. I'm not like, Wow, the Lions are for real. Lions are thirteen and three in their last sixteen games, and there's this still this prejudice lingering and Peter, I totally respect where you're coming from.

It's tough. It's a scar tissue. But they're five and one.

They're gonna be six and one when they win this game. The Miami Dolphins were throwing a parade for them. They haven't accomplished much over the last quarter century. For some reason, we love them, But the Lions are Yeah, but watch tonight. There'll be a parade for the Jacksonville Jaguars when they win. Okay, they haven't accomplished much either. The Lions are going to be real. They already are real when they win this game. Guys, it's not smoking mirrors. They're top five in categories like passing yards per game, total yards per game, points per game. Then you're like, yeah, but I remember I watched them some last year. The defense is terrible. You know, they have the number one rush defense in the NFL. Number one, not two, not three. This is a great team. And yet you know, you talk to somebody, whether it's your friends who just watched football, or you get into the real research of the Lions, and you say, like, you know, I was talking to our research or our show research here with day one Rich Goldberg, great guys, says, you know, what can we get into that are statistically really shows how cool it is what the Lions are doing. You know what comes back from the research machine, even our own one at the NFL, Well, They've had four straight wins by fourteen plus points. That's the longest since nineteen thirty four. That's the blubblah Bostons nineteen fifty four. I don't give a crap about the the Detroit Lions, Pratt.

Countree, I don't care.

I don't care about nineteen fifty four. I don't care about two thousand and four anything. I care about twenty twenty three when I think they're the best team in the NFL. So when the best team in the NFL goes to a pretty good Baltimore team and wins, what does it mean nothing? It means they're on to the next week. I'm not gonna patronize them, say wow, you're.

All grown up.

We've already done that. We did that last year and then we waited this year, like is it gonna carry over?

Was that was that smoking meers? Do they actually kind of suck? No, they're excellence. It's not a hangover. It means nothing. Guys, they're gonna do They're gonna beat Baltimore. If they do, I'm not predict in the game right now. If they beat Baltimore, it's the Lions, it's the new Lions. I don't give a crap about the old ones. It means nothing.

My yeah, but comes with the Baltimore Ravens. Ravens, I don't think. I don't understand from what we've seen from the Ravens that this is like the ultimate Lipsmiths test. I understand when you look the Lions' schedule that they play losing teams for the next couple of games. But like the Ravens are not some like hot to trot team. I think coming in they've had their own challenges. They just come off this London game where they couldn't put they could not get to the end zone in the second half whatsoever. Their yards per play drops significantly as the game goes on. They start off really strong. Ravens offense looks hot, their defense is really good. I don't think their offense is talented. I don't think that has translated to good football yet for the Baltimore Ravens. This Todd Munkin offense is just taking a little bit of time to click in. So I'm with Kyle, I don't think that this is like the ultimate schedule making litmus test for the Detroit Lions. But Kyle, I ask you if the Lions lose to the Ravens, are you still going to be on Monday or Tuesday saying like, yeah, they're fine because they've been showing me that they're good.

It depends on the loss, you know, it depends. Like I like Baltimore. I think Peter's all over the place, the hard place to play there. They got guys with skins on the wall. If the Lions lose this game thirty one to twenty eight, and look, maybe, well we'll see what's happening. If the only thing that would change my opinion about the Lions is if they had the yeah butt game and golf all of a sudden first three interceptions and they lose by twenty points, that if they I respect Baltimore, I think that Detroit will win.

Screw it, I'll break their Yeah.

I'm also curious if Tampa, you know, comes off that loss that they had and they can take care of it.

They play Atlanta this weekend.

Like, if Tampa goes out and says, you know what, they beat the Falcons by twenty points, it's.

Like, all right, last week's game, like really was because.

Last week we came into this thing, like what a clash of the Titans, these two division leaders.

Tampa didn't show up more.

Did Detroit just blow them around so much that they made us think Tampa wouldn't.

Yeah, I love this song. I talked to a guy in the league this week, and I'm like, Yo, Detroit is hot. There's people saying they're the number one team. They were like, eh, yeah, they're like, well, Kansas City Week one's a liar. Two of their best players went out there. They're like, they played Seattle. See, I don't think thirty one points on them since then?

Like, who have they really played?

None?

These teams have had a good offense. So I look at this and I do think it's a really good test. And I love what you're saying about the Ravens because they're trying to transition into a drop back pass. The team has taken a little while, but I think this Baltimore Ravens team may be the best team they played this year because the team they got in Kansas City in Week one wasn't the best version of Kansas I think this may be the best team. So it's the measuring stick that we have thus.

Far in the season.

For you have to take what you're giving on the schedule, and this is just probably the best measuring stick we have for the Lions so far.

They handed the boaster touchdown Miami, heart coming off the edge, party crows a little. It's intercepted ever since, hasn't been field look set.

Out but one tyree touchdown Miami. The snap, Paul comes down, Paul loose to the forty five. Quite poor it. How about the sack? All right?

The Browns are off to a historic NFL start with their defense. Take a look at this guys, first five games since nineteen seventy the fewest total yards on in the history.

We've got Old Baltimore Colt's logo.

I love that, I'm taking an art Donovan. That's amazing. That's united. It's all those.

And then you've got the Vikings, and you've got Washington. Their logo has changed quite a bit since nineteen seventy four, a few times. But then on the flip side, the Dolphins are having this historic start on ofphense the most total.

Yards through six games.

They're right behind and you know, less than one hundred yards behind the Saint Louis Rans, which is not the greatest show on turf team of ninety nine it's just it's the next one that ended ended up.

Losing to the Patriots. They're even better than next year.

Dolphins of this season are right there. So it's a new segment we're calling this is that, this a little bit of that.

You can do with this, you're gonna do with that.

I start with Miami and Cleveland, two teams.

I don't think anyone had going to the Super Bowl before the season, yet here we are. Which unit has been more impressive through the first six weeks of football. What the Dolphins are doing on offense or what the Browns are doing on defense?

I go to my defender, A.

Little bit of this, A little bit bit of that.

What the Dolphins are doing on offense, it's just fantastic. The speed, it's exciting. You love to watch it.

But you look at the numbers and next to it with the years.

Or twenty thirteen, two thousand, you put up the Cleveland Browns and you look at those numbers. Everything is in the seventies. This is history. Everything about the NFL, about football has been geared towards more points, more offense. You cannot touch a receiver as they're going out for a pass. Now for the defensive guys. Pretty soon you're gonna have to go through mental gymnastics just to figure out how to tackle a guy as he's coming through. I grabbed him, but if I drop too fast, and that's going to be a penalty. Why I got an aim rate at this part, not so for the defense to go out there and not be allowing this amount of yards and shutting people out. This in today's NFL, where everybody's throwing the ball all around the field. I look at what the Dolphins are doing. Has been amazing. It has been fun to watch. But it's like in the next few years, somebody will come up with something else and the Dolphins will be one of the five teams that are now in yards defense. I think this is hard to come by, as we saw seventy seventy one, seventy four.

I'm a sucker for the points, man. I love the offense.

I love the sparks.

I don't care if someone comes up with a new one in five years, I'll watch it and I'll just be spoon fed offensive schematics and just, oh my god, look at this. When I was in London, I think I caught one of the segments where you were I rolling the fact that one of those days we were over here, like the Dolphins are amazing. You just want to put like a tamp down on that. And here I am lifting the lid again. I say, give me more of that. Someone asked Mike McDaniel yesterday about what is it? Is it your schemes, your talent, and he goes, I'm just going to push his podium over. I hate this question so much.

Who cares?

We're working as a team too. I'm gonna go Dolphins.

I'm gonna go Dolphins offense.

I'm impressed by it and I don't care.

Just give me more play.

The Cleveland defense has been awesome. It's amazing, and it's really fun to see defense, and it's fun to see Jim Schwartz us. The Dolphins scored seventy day scored seventy j not you guys.

Rules are three Jason.

Uniting on the hip, drop seventy points in a game. It feels fresh, it feels different. Look, I don't take anything away from the Browns win whatsoever. And I said on Monday morning, I don't want to hear injury complaints. The fact that like they had a couple pros and debo and everything. We're out, like, maybe the defense would not have been that impressive statistically. Maybe changes Peter's full full screen. Okay, the Dolphins have been so fun to watch. We got we got a guy named Chris Brooks win an angry runs the running back three, an undrafted rookie, he's the RVY three. This guy wasn't even on the field last week. And that that's a chain a change, Like we don't even know how to pronunce his name. He's too fast, he runs away.

It's Dolphins. They scored seventy points in a game, Peter's seventy and.

At seventy that was incredible. And I'm twisted and turning on this one because to your point, the league has I mean, I think they would tell you objectively done everything to change the rules to make sure there's more offense. And yet there's this team in this modern era who's saying we're a historic defense.

That's incredible, and yet for all the.

Jason what they're doing, I mean, we've got a lot of great offensive lines out there, McVeigh and Shanahan, and then you're like, oh, there's a different offense. Sirianni and Arthur Smith, and yet this offense, even in all of the different is blowing all of those offenses out of the water. So even with the best of the best and years of working in the lab, this Dolphins offense is better than any other modern offense that we've seen in the last several years.

I gotta go with Miami.

We can go back ten years ago in his de broncles.

But all right, good for you. I like it, defender. Moving on on much more serious terms, Okay, this is fun.

The Giants every one of the worst starts to the season and yet one of the best stories.

This is great for them, right.

They brought back thirty three year old offensive lineman and former first round pick Justin Pugh, and Pugh made his first start in over a year in the NFL. There was a loss to the Bills, but he was out there starting at left guard, and then the left tackle goes down and he moves to left tackle and plays at left tackle after literally and he said it was straight off the couch the week before where he was selling real estate and hosting podcasts, and on Sunday Night Football with Tariko and Collinsworth, he was playing left tackle against Greg Russo and the Buffalo Bills.

He was at his locker yesterday and.

He explained why he just had to be a New York giant.

Take a listen.

Honestly, this is all Jerry Seinfeld's fault. Like, honestly, I was at a restaurant Teresa in New York like four months ago, over the summer, and my wife and I were sitting there with some friends and like across from us as Jerry Seinfeld, and I hear his voice and it was the most quintessential New York moment of all time. And I remember texting my agent like text the Giants, like I want to come back. Like so, really, if it wasn't for Jerry Seinfeld, I don't know if I'd be here right now.

Jerry Seinfeld's at Resei and Justin Pugh walks and he's and he's like this.

I have to be a giant.

This is New York.

I heard the wors, he heard the what's the deal with the Giants whole line? What's the deal with THERESI.

Yeah, exactly, let's sult Anyway, there you got that one in New York. That's a huge story he's gonna be playing. He was signed to the active roster, like Justin pugh'es back on the Giants after being on the couch last week.

That takes us into the Bear situation at quarterback.

All right, this is Tyson Badgent a AG.

Sorry, guys, it's a part of it.

That's Tyson Beagent's father, Travis the Beast Beagent.

His son is gonna potentially be starting for.

The for like his might be the Bears quarter maybe for the next ten years, maybe undrafted.

Played college football where.

Jamie Shepherd's university Vision two. So what makes for a better TV movie?

Not a movie?

A TV movie like the.

Old Giants offensive lineman Justin Pugh getting right off the couch to playing left tackle in an NFL game, or Bear's backup quarterback now starting quarterback. Tyson Bagent coming from a family where his father was a competitive arm wrestlery.

I love when he says, like everybody's good at something, this is what I do. One of my best advice you is just take it easy. It is is definitely the Bigent family. If anyone is not familiar. There is an eighties film called Over the Top Don Sylvester Stallone, and it is about the world of competitive arm wrestling. Now, this is not Sly now or coming up before Rocky. This is prime damn Salon. I point my finger and I get any project made in the world. And he's like, I'm doing the OLM wrestling movie, all right, and it is an unbelievable display in which he plays Lincoln Hawk, a truck driver.

Talk about Bull Hurley, William Bull.

Hurley is the nemesis in this situation. Bull Hurley is the final boss of the movie. And this is basically what he does. Accept this to eighties, and there's a dynamic in the film where Sylvester Stallone does not win the arm wrestling competition.

He doesn't get custody of his son.

And this time telling you Robert loj is in it, and it's this whole thing. So we've already I'm seeing the movie and now we have a football tie in and we've seen it already.

It's a huge hit. We're now thirty five years later.

It is without a doubt, and I would just say to the whole Beajan family specialtis before you go out there for your first NFL start, just take a moment and just look in the mirror, all right, and you're gonna you're gonna go like this and you're you're just gonna get locked in and you're gonna go here. Let me see, it's like a switch, and that's how you get focused, and that's how you go out there and you lock in. And it would help if on the team Bust and the team playing you had like an arm wrestling weightlifting apparatus that I'm sure is wildly unsafe, but that was part of the stallone magic.

Remember, it's like a switch. Go out there. I'm here for this movie made me halfway Kenny Loggins.

Incredible song in the movie Winner Takes It All by Sammy Hagar, great soundtrack from the eighties, The World meets.

Nobody halfway in the family.

Come on, what do you think this is one hundred pagent? You just went over the whole armrestling side of it. He won't play for the Shepherd Ram.

That's part of it.

Yeah, I don't think anybody right now.

I could talk about the color of their uniforms, where they're located.

We don't know any of those things. You can probably put that film on.

Think you're possibly out a high school football game and he's going to be the starting quarterback. For the Chicago There are goals, there are the ram Tyson Bage just throwing the ball all around the field right there in Shepherdsville, it's.

Not even name in Martinsburg.

Awesome, you know all about it.

It was remarkable.

At the combine, Tyson bagent ABCD he was the first quarterback QB one. He had to go in front of Stetson Bennett, in front of who else was standing around the rookie quarterbacks, in front of C. J. Stroud, in front of Anthony Richardson, like he was the lead of the alphabet. And he would go and everybody's like, who is this guy? And his dad would just circle in Indianapolis that he would move like a gymnastics parent to where Tyson was performing. And I got to interview him and be like, where are you going to be? He's like, wherever my son is doing the drill? Like I'll just and I had to pop up in the stands and he's like doing one of these like as he's throwing the slants of stuff like it's so good. It is a sorry justin it's the.

Story would accompany.

There's this amazing article in the Athletic about the Beijing family and Tyson was asked like, what would you do if your NFL dream didn't come true?

And this is a quote.

I was gonna basically just CrossFit my life away, get as ripped in jacked as I could possibly be, and be a teacher. Like that's that's what he wants to be a high school teacher and just be crossfitting jack as hell. I do want to say, watching the Pilisari video, I kind of want to shot, right, I thought, I want I want to shot. You think what's the name Travis? Travis would come on, Yes, I'd love to.

I would love it. Shepherd is where it's in West Virginia?

Yes, yes, not that far.

And Kyle Dad would love it. He that guy is a performer, Kyle Burry.

Yeah, I can tell with the microphone in his hand.

Yeah, I think you would to seventeen.

I just like I want to feel what it when like, I want to I want to play, you know, one on one with Michael Jordan and I want to box in there with with with exactly right.

I want to shot. I want to shock.

I would like to have a shot. So I was full respect, I'm not saying I would beat you. I think I'm able to hang for a quarter second breaking them in here.

I want it.

Are pretty sure Mark Gorilla probably wants one too.

Oh yeah, Grilla might take him out.

A guy who's right now with to Jim probably doing push on.

It's like a switch.

Oh wow.

Back for another awesome edition of mixed bag Triviuta.

This Sunday, the Eagle we'll be breaking out the Kelly Green jerseys against the Miami Dolphins. Guys, we were so lucky this summer to get these that they're now finally breaking them out. Eagles fans, I know this is nostalgia for all of you. Take a look at our show. We've got the AJ Brown, the Darius Slay, the Chalen Hurts, and of course at DeVante Smith.

I thought it would be fun to do.

Some trivia around this era, all right, Eagles footing up from thirty five to ninety five.

Kelly Green was a part of the color palette.

It was a primary color for the Eagles.

All these questions are between that era, thirty five to ninety Let's go, Jason, Are you ready?

This is perfect?

Baby to forty Jason, which quarterback threw for the most passing yards in Eagles history. While Kelly Green was a part of the uniform palette. Hey Randall Cunningham, B Jaws, Ron Jaworski, Cee, Donovan McNabb or d Rodney Pete.

Oh all right, it's not McNabb obviously, that was that was kind of my generation.

Love Coneham, I'm gonna go on a limb.

I'm gonna just go.

D Rodney pe because I like Holly Robinson.

P Yeah, we love Rodney jump Street. We love Let's go hang with mister. Rodney played for a lot of teams. Was a USC legend.

The answer is not Rodney Pete.

It's our guy down there at NFL films.

Yes, Johnston man a golf tournament, one of the biggest smiles and warmest embraces and also yep, an awesome NFL quarterback.

Jaws played ten seasons of the Eagles from seventy seven to eighty six. Jaworski threw for twenty six and sixty three passing yards, also one hundred and seventy five passing touchdowns. He led the Eagles to the NFC title in the nineteen eighty season and a birth in Sewer Bowl fifteen. Jaws, when it's the Eagles Hall of Fame in ninety two McNabb more pet but in the Kelly Green no one did more than Ron Jaworski Jaws.

We see, Jos.

We'll take that invite to that golf tournament, Jamie, are you ready?

So when you google Ron Dwarths here right now, he just donated twenty k to like a local garden, like he's the best Jaws. I know, it's just like that's.

The first right now. Unbelievable.

Through your Google searches on Jaws, nothing bad will come out, Jamie. Yes, I got a video clue for you. Oh okay, it's one of the most famous plays in Monday Night history, just because of how good it was. It's Randall Cunningham. Okay, that's where it is. It's gonna stop right here. Which players tackle does he break in this incredible Monday night football play while throwing a touchdown on the run? Was it a Lawrence Taylor, B Harry Carson, c Bryce.

Pot or d.

Carl Banks who's now the radio voice of the Giants.

That was so that was the Giants. I couldn't quite snuff out the blue there if it was Cowboys or Giants. Just for fun, I'll go Carl Banks, also with a great clothing line.

Interesting was that Joseph A Bank?

Is that he's got like.

Banks? Yeah, you're going to Bank.

All right, We're gonna go to Monday night football broadcast.

This is the crew, Al Michaels with Frank Gifford in Michigan.

Man Dan Diirdorf on the call. Take her listen, wait out.

Of van, go right there, Jimmy Chiles to receive cunning am by all right, hit by Carl Banks, and he cannot have been down. He's maintained his bottles. We talked about his athletic tenny fires in the corner, beautifully executed rollout, ladies and gentlemen. Randall Cunningham is a ready for prime time player.

They were questioning whether he was just a flash in the pan, and that was his coming out moment.

I'm ready for prime time.

He went thirty one to forty one, three sixty nine three touchdowns over an amazing Giants defense.

Carl Banks. We love you the victim on that play. Gotcha got it right?

Thank you?

Are you ready? The world meets nobody halfway? Peter, Let's go meet me halfway? All right?

Kelly Green Jerseys today we're on full display. When Washington played Philly in a nineteen ninety classic known as the body Bag Game.

Yeah, we love to say that, Kyle, when Washington starter Jeff Rutledge and backup Stan Humphries both left the game with injuries.

Who ended the game at quarterback for Washington?

Okay?

Is it Heath Schuler, Gus Farratt, Brian Mitchell or Tom Tupa.

Well, it would be really incredible if Brian Mitchell signs back once. I mean it would be atlandish Peter if a non quarterback player went and took over at the quarterback position. And that's why I'm going with d Tom Tupa the punter.

Yes, I think he took over a quarterback. You want another broadcast call? Yeah, for the correct answer, we.

Go again to Alt Michaels Frank Gifford in Michigan man Dan Dierdorf with the.

Call number thirty is Brian Mitchell. He's a running back and a return specialist. He's a rookie, but he did play quarterback in college at Southwestern Louisiana, so he could be the man on second down. Mitchell throws the catches made. No, he didn't get in but he did make the cat. Look at the tight spiral.

I mean that is right. There were believable.

You guys have left Austar.

But Brian I know his whole career. I've never seen that quarter back. Didn't know that because that.

Rookie year, yes, but I've never heard of them Southwest where nine Washington players left this game as an injuries.

Eagles won twenty eight fourteen. Not at the bodyback game. Don't go with it. Brian Mitchell went three of six then.

Just completely like one, three of six for forty yards. He would throw twelve more passes the rest of his career. And of course you know his twenty three thousand, three hundred and thirty all purpose yards as a return man, receiver and running back ranked second most in NFL history.

But you don't know college quarterback and win.

It on a Monday night game.

It went three of six and moved the ball. It's amazing.

That was very close to a touchdown.

It's a great throw that completely sinks my battleshift es. I knew that Brian Mitchell dossier, i'n know.

I do you know that?

No, Brian Mitchell is still doing media in the Washington market, we see you, and of course this great.

Eagle as well. Yes, amazing last one gal video clue.

Okay, Week twelve, nineteen two.

The Eagles are up on the Giants in the third quarter and then Sean Lindetta punch the.

Ball to Vi Sikahema.

When Vai Sikahima returns this ball eighty seven yards for a touchdown against the Giants, he does something that had Giant stadium throwing stuff on the field. His celebration was, hey, climb the goalpost like Spider Man. B punched the goal posts like a boxer. See called his shot into the crowd like Babe Ruth or D bowed to the giant stadium crowd.

Will go around the horn. Then we'll show you the Va Sikahema punt reted.

I feel like I'm gonna be Kyler right now. I'd be like Spider Man wasn't really big in the early nineties, and.

But that's kind of where my brain went.

I'm gonna go Babe Ruth because that is a direct shot to a New York facefall.

I'm gonna go with D.

He goes and he takes a ballot in a crowd and they're just kissed all and he had a hi.

I remember watching the video of v Sikahema beating the ever living hell out of Jose Canseco in a celebrity boxing match.

I mean, just someone like.

Save Jose, Jose like probably juiced out of his ears allegedly and just couldn't even get his hands up to defend himself against Vye Saghima. So I will go with the pugil theme, Peter, and I will go bet.

Do you know why Fox books Vy Sikahema the box because of this? Let's go to Dick Stockton and Randy Cross on the call for CBS.

I love it.

Randy Cross returning from inside the fifteen yard line and he's going to get a good return.

The only man to beat what's the kicker?

Landana and sicka Hema.

We'll go all the way for a touchdown with no penalty markers down.

And a little work on the heavy bag by Sikahemma.

Brian Va Skahima a great local newsman in Philly years.

Afterwards, one of the great return men and an awesome ambassador.

But he beat the snot out of that yeah posts, yeah.

Him versus that goal post was Ward Gotti compared to him versus the goal posts. Put up a way better fight than Jose did. Way You've got to find the footage. It's celebrity boxing, Yeah, celebrity boxing.

Bisecond me versus Jose can Seco.

I mean, it's just really quick before we get out of here at Don Flamenco.

How cool are these uniforms?

Its sleeve, It's the sleeve for me.

This weekend they played the Dolphins Sunday Night Football
