Hour Two of the Good Morning Football Podcast begins with hosts Jamie Erdahl, Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt, Akbar Gbajabiamila and Isaiah Stanback discussing the New York Jets struggles after another loss to the Buffalo Bills - can the Jets be fixed? WE IN or WE OUT - the Ravens, not the Chiefs, are the best team in ther AFC right now? Sunday’s matchup between the Eagles and Giants qualifies as a revenge game for Saquon. Barkley? Later, they react to Jerry Jones’ fiery comments on a radio show and Ron Riviera shares how the Cowboys should move forward.

Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.

Good Morning Football.

Hey, everybody, welcome. It's like Good Morning Football as always. We are live here in LA. It's Tuesday, October fifteenth. The other half of us are in New York City. This is Isaiah Standback returning to Jaiah exactly. Oh, very good off, Bar Boxby and Milla, Peter Schreeger, Kyle Brandt, Peter, Kyle went to the game last night. You crazy kids. How late were you out? How long did you stay?

It was pretty late.

I stayed for most of the game, and then at the end I had to leave to make sure I got here on time. Kyle, though, was with a child, which is an unbelievable thing. That kid, Calvin has to be late for school today, right, He was late.

For school today, but no school yesterday. Calvin and I left at halftime. We were about to leave before, with like a minute left in the first half, and I was like, let's just stay for the last play at Hurst time. You know, you never know, saw the hail Mary place goes crazy.

We get the hell out of there.

We listen to the great Kevin Harlan and the radio on the way home for the whole thing.

Isaiah has a sweatshirt on today. Peter, I think you should get this it. Lily has drip the word drip in an ice cream cone. It feels very like shrager esque. I think Peter would like that.

Beautiful.

I love that, you guys, I like that.

That's good. Seattle Sorbetz.

All right, we're getting it out. I love it.

All right, Brant walk us through what happened last night, amongst other things, the hail Mary.

All right, let's go just right up the street from the bottom being that wonderful leedifist called Mettlife Stadium.

We have new coaches. Hack it kind of up in the booth. We got down and we got old brick. We got brick. There's a red mark.

On the Jets object a Jet record. It's four losses, twenty three to twenty bills. Afterwards, let's hear from the interim head coach of New York Jets, Jeff Old on the team sin suburgency.

I think there's always a sense of urgency. There has to be, you know, that's just the nature of this league. But at the same time, two of four is by We are by no means out of this thing.

By no means.

I know the character that locker room, I know the way we will respond. I know that I thought this week's process was right. I thought the way we were prepared was exceptional, you know. And we got to start stacking these weeks of exceptional preparation and I promise you it'll start to pay off on Sundays.

Yeah, Jeff Ulbrick has to believe that he did the process the right way because he's the interim head coach. Is his responsibility and now it's on his accountability, Peter, to get the Jets right every week. So big takeaway specifically from the Jets side of things, because, as you said, the Wills run away with this. They sit forward to it's very comfortable, a little uncomfortable maybe at this point for the Jets.

Yeah, and if they had one, they'd be three and three and in first place. It's that thin a margin and it's like two losses because it's in the division now, so you have to dig out of that hole. Look, I was at this game, Kyle's at this game. If you're watching it home. Twenty two penalties a lot either way, right, Like no one wants to watch a game with twenty two flags thrown for two hundred and four yards. So the game is this hirky jerky thing. Every single time there was a play, there was a flag.

I blame the refs from a.

Jets fan, but they called it pretty equally towards the Bills. So at the very least, you can't blame the refs for costing you the game, because yes, they called a ton of penalties, but they called it both ways. I would blame Greg Zerline, who missed two chippies and had two doinks when they were makeable kicks, and who also missed that kick that might have gotten Robert Solid fired in the.

Rain against Denver.

I mean, but todder Bass miss kicks too, Like this wasn't a great day for the Bills kicker. At the end of the day, the Bills needed to make a play and it was third and five in the fourth quarter, and if they get a first down, the game is over.

And they put the ball in.

The hand of their champion player, and that's Josh Allen.

Who rolls left, gets it, sprints to the end zone, talks his talk, and gets out of here with a w When the Jets had to make a play at the end when the Jets had to make a play in the red zone, when the Jet had to do anything to get points on the board in a touchdown, they didn't.

The Jets had.

Three different drives with the ball within the three yard line and didn't score.

On those drives. It completes in the back of the end zone.

Where's the call? We know we're looking for the call. There's twenty two flags yesterday.

That one wasn't here.

Garrett Wilson can't grab the ball, obviously rapping hamle because and then Zerlaman misses the Chippies, and then at the end of the game, Mike Williams runs the wrong route, Rogers has to adjust his throw, and for the second straight week, with the game on the line, Rogers throws an interception. So it's a very thin margin between wins and losses in this league. When you're at home and you all the opportunities to win that the Jets did, you can't blame the red and as bad as Greg zerline was and has been, you can't blame the kicker.

Touchdowns matter too.

I think this is just a difficult loss for the Jets because you want to point a million places, but at the end of the day, it's like, we should have won.

You're absolutely correct, and I don't know who they're pointing at, but I do know that the accountability has to be taken. I don't know if Aaron Rodgers is placing blame on other people per se, but I do know what he said after the game, and what he was said after the game was in regards to obviously Mike Williams.

I'm not sure if we have that or not.

There's two verticals. You know, Allen's down the scene, Mike's down the redline. So I'm looking at all and he puts his hand up. Three guys ago with him, so I'm throwing another look to the red line, and when I just peek my eyes back there, he's running an inbreaker, so it's gotta be down the red line. I was thrown to the red line, but when I got to about here, I realized he was running in breaker, so I had to kind of adjust it a little bit. But the play is two guys vertical, one guy down the scene, guy on the red line.

I'm gonna translate for you guys, those that don't understand football terminology. He was expecting Mike Williams to be in a specific area of the field. Right, there's just his QB awareness, right, his propriateception. He expects his guy to be there, and this is a result of those guys who's not spending a lot of time together. He wants him to be over by the numbers, right, He wants to stretch the safety, he wants to stretch the cornerbacks. He was condensed, which means that he was too close to the middle of the field and by doing that he could not hit his guy.

So, as you see, Mike Williams is near the.

Middle of the field, Aaron Rodgers is trying to put.

It more towards the numbers.

Now Mike Williams has to adjust his route, turn his head the opposite direction and obviously loses his footing.

That is just communication.

Those guys have to spend more time together, They have to spend more time after practice, and once they are able to get on one accord, then there will be this thing called trust. But right now, what you're starting to see in New York is there is no chemistry between Mike Williams obviously and Aaron Rodgers. Three attempts yesterday. Two of those were drops. Yeah, those drops are bad.

But you know what was interesting to me was, you know, the way they started this game, because the Jets, they started this game when the high tempo, they were moving the ball. We saw a lot of motion, we saw a lot of action, and they were getting it. Brice Hall was getting involved. And then after that script kind of went away. It was just starting to you know, kind of just fall apart and we didn't see that same type And you know, Peter, you talked about it one in four in the red zone that you just can't win games that way, and I think that's what it comes down to, like improving that red zone offense and being able. I mean, especially when you have a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers and you've got a running game that seemed to be working, especially in that first half they were moving. I mean, Brice Hall was punching it in. You saw, of course, Alan he was doing his thing. But it just fell apart in the second half.

We can go down a checklist.

They have some really good players, they're just not a good team.

They're not good when you watch them. No one is impressed by them as a team. There's a lot of shiny.

Objects and it's New York and it's Star quarterback, but like you watch it and the product is just not that good. The checklist, the set offense, and after they changed play and fired the head coach, scored one touchdown. They had Hail Mary touchdown. They set off and scored one touchdown. It a dropped passing the end zone from the star wide receiver. The wide receiver fell down on the biggest play of the game in an interception. They held on a rushing touchdown. They missed two field goals. The two strong, badass running backs they have, they can't score in the red zone. Rogers got crushed a couple of times. They played TJ. Watt next week. That should be fun. And the answer this morning from Jets fans that I follow, that I see online.

Is all right, just give Hassan Reddick whatever he wants. Just pay them. Just Pam and bringing Davante. So you're two and four and the recipe is.

Just go get two all prosy, just pay for help.

That's not how it works.

This is like you have a terrible tasting recipe and you're just like, just put more sugar, just put salt in, just keep putting sugar and salt. It's so lame, especially since every Jets fan I know spent the entire times from February to August eighth.

We're so loaded, we have so.

Many weapons, all these running backs and all these pass rush is at DA and now two and four into it, not even any major injuries. You haven't lost the guys. They just don't play well. You don't need better players. You need to play better, and right now they're just not good. They're two and four. They are what their record says they are. They have a very famous quarterback, and they have a lot of headlines because they fired the head coach.

But it's really bad.

I mean, they got the Steelers coming, they got the Texans down. The Texans could beat this team by three touchdowns or four. It's not even close. Thankfully, the Patriots are right around the corner. But it's not a matter of getting better players, it's a matter of playing better.

You can do it, I promise.

A k B.

I don't disagree with you wholeheartedly, but I do want to push back a little bit.

Obviously, they made the change over an office of coordinator.

Right by getting rid of Nathaniel Hackett and bringing in Todd Downing right and promoting him to office a coordinator. Yesterday did feel better. They were more productive. You talk about not bringing in more players and just highlighting the guys they had, Well, they did that last night.

Right.

They've both of their star receivers head over one hundred yards breisce Hall head over one hundred yards.

Right.

They didn't turn the ball over much obviously on the aside from that one play. So it did look better. The aspect of their team that they needed to improve. That third of the game offense got better. So if that is a glimmer of hope, then I am encouraged because I think that they can continue to progress through this season with that encouragement going forward.

Yeah, and if this is what we're doing, if we're trying to get better and be a better team.

Then that's great. I was told this was a super Bowl team.

They were at home against the division rival that division Ratles scored three points in the second I'll give you That's all they needed to do is score one touchdown on the second half. I think too much to ask.

I think they could beat the Dolphins twice.

I do, all right.

I think they could beat the Patriots again, I do. They got the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Sunday night, and then they also have on Halloween night in that same building, the Texans are coming to town.

If we want to go schedule wise and.

Go and pick it apart, like those primetime games Steelers and Texans, if you win those, you're alive. Do any confidence they're going to win those after last night?

It's hard, okay?

I mean, if you want to play the schedule game, you got to do. Can you find eleven wins? Yea, Like they got to win nine more games to conceivably lock up a playoff spot, and maybe they will. It's a lot of football offt but just right now, they're just not a good team now.

And we see the first half.

If we see the first half Jets, I would say that they could definitely get a lot more wins and make.

They were down twenty to ten ock Bar, they were losing.

Look if you look at that production, well, you know going into that half that they obviously you know they throw that Hell, Mary, I know that's a you know, a one in aother shot. You know that they threw out. But you look at the way Aaron Rodgers was playing. He was ten, he was ten of seventeen excuse me, thirteen to seventeen hundred nine two yards.

He was bawling. Two touchdowns. They were moving.

Rogers was good.

I know the score said it was one thing.

But the way they're effectively moving that offense they were going the second half was a totally different game.

But those are empty calories at this point, like it's they and Rogers said it after the game. They did not they cannot produce in the red zone. That's great that you can produce the first eighty yards of the field, but if you can't put the points on the score at ten, then it doesn't is all a moot point, but there.

Has to be a trist factor also when you're moving the ball down the field, and yeah, you like to end every single drive with a touchdown, but that's just not realistic right there. There's a partnership there in terms of just getting points. So once I get to the ball, get the ball to the forty yard line. As an offense, we have positioned ourselves to score some points. We are now trusting in our kicker Greg the leg to kick the ball through the goal post, not to hit each side of the goal post. So there's a lack of trust there in what that effect. What that effects is the ability to be able to now call plays you know, you know what I'm saying with some kind of way, and what comes some kind of mix is kind of confidence because now you're going to start taking more risks if you can't trust that your kicker is going.

To guarantee you three points. This is a this is a domino effect.

So great.

The leg has to figure this out. That game would have easily been one. Yes, I know you're gonna say a KB. They got to score those touchdowns, but that game should have been one last night if their kicker converts on at least one of those kicks.

Isaiah, I'm going to ask you because you're due to the table of this hour. Hassan Reddick conversations Devanta Adams conversations.

Is this one of those.

Where it's like we're just two players away or are you really give it up a second round pick for DeVante Adams.

For a two and four team right now?

Not at all, Not at all, because the defense was never the problem. The offense was the problem. We talked about Robert Soland and in him getting fired as a scapegoat because of the lack of production on offense. When you go back and look at last night's game, your top two receivers had one hundred. Your running back that you had that you rely on to make big plays had a hundred.

So your star guys did their job.

Now, your complementary players did not come through for you, right, Your tight ends didn't come through, right, Mike Wims didn't come through.

Those conversions on thursd.

Down didn't happen because those guys didn't do what you're asking them to do in regards to role players.

But your star players were there.

Aaron Rodgers was on point, Your two receivers were on point, your running back was on point. So if offense was the issue that needed to be addressed, that was a huge leap forward.

And if you're talking about the.

Defense and the confidence there, I have all the faith that their defense will continually get better.

You brought up that Pittsburgh game. I think they beat Pittsburgh.

You think about the Houston Texans in Pittsburgh, right, that's that's okay, right now, right now, I'm okay with them raised in Pittsburgh. I have full compidence that they would get if their offense continues to produce like they did last night.

Okay, but at least Isaiah feels better about the offense going in this direction. Okay, I feel better because I'm being told we have to go to Tom Pelisera. Now, Tom Pellisero, welcome into the program. I believe you're in Atlanta, which is where we're going to have this conversation for the NFL league meeting. No, you're not, You're at home. Good morning, Tom. What are we talking about this morning?

Sjami.

You don't have to go to me. You get to go to me. And yes, I'm in the basement. But never fear. We've got Ian Rappaport and Mike garatfolo At and Judy Batista. I believe all heading to that meeting down in Atlanta. Let's talk about Lions defensive end Aiden Hutchinson, who is out four to six months after undergoing surgery Sunday night for his broken leg. According to coach Dan Campbell, that obviously means this is more than likely a season ending injury for Hutchinson, but it is also the best case scenario. This was not an open compound fracture. There were no major complications. The hope is it's going to be a relatively smooth rehab process for Hutchinson and in fact that guy. Dan Campbell not even ruling out yet The possibility that Hutchinson could be back if the Lions make the Super Bowl a long way away, but Campbell said it is good to have a goal. Meanwhile, the Commanders also lost a major piece of their defense on Sunday. Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen suffered a torn pectoral expected to undergo surgery this week that will be season ending. Coach Dan Quinn said the plan is to try to replace Allen by committee.

Here.

They've got some young players that they want to see in that role, but there is a guy who rarely missed his time a leader, finally on a competent Commander's team, now expected to miss the rest of twenty twenty four. Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts should have their starting quarterback back in the lineup this week. Coach Shane Steichen said that Anthony Richardson is expected to play on Sunday, barring a setback with his oblique straight Richardson came back to practice last week after missing the previous week's game. Because of that injury, was a full participant on Thursday limited on Friday, he actually dressed as the number three emergency quarterback, which means he could have gone into the game if he needed to. But everybody involved after a morning work out the side and just hold him back, give Joe Flacco one more start. They ended up winning that game, but again, barring a setback, it'll be Richardson back in the lineup this week against the Dolphins.

Welcome back to GMFP.

A segment we call we interview out. Here's how it works. I say a.

Statement, my coach tell me whether they agree or they don't, they go ah.

If we agree, they don't.

Let's start in Baltimore where the Ravens offense was rolling on Sunday and Mark Andrews had his first touchdown of the season. Take a listen to mister Nance and mister Romo on the call.

Fakes the staff walking through rush is four.

Lamar fires to the.

Edge updro.

He got open in the back of the am zone.

Lamar delivers the ball and Andrews reels it in and that combination has been looking for that since the opening drive.

My apologies to the great Jerry Sandusky, the radio play by play voice of the Baltimore Ravens.

I said that was Nanson Romo. That was my mistake.

It's a good leading though, because a lot of mistakes were made after the Ravens started off zero to two and everyone jumped off their bandwagon.

Here is the statement.

The Ravens and not the Chiefs and not the Texans appear to be the best team in the AFC.

Right now, are we innery out?

Isaiah?

Stand back? We go to you.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that I'm in simply because of the fact of what you did this offseason. You went out there and got the King, mister King Henry himself come in there and be a two hited monster with himself and Lamar Jackson, and all he's done is getting better ever since the Dallas Cowboys game in which they won that ball game. He is simply just being a juggernaut going downhill offensive. Those guys score twenty eight points, next game thirty five, next game forty one, and now they're back down to thirty. But these guys are averaging over thirty points per game with him, as he has figured this thing out. We knew it was going to be a matter of time before they figured out how to work both of those guys into the system.

And it seems like they had done.

So I don't even want to play this game, but I am because no, it's the Kansas City Chiefs.

I'm out.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the best team period. I mean, like in the NFC and the NFC, they're showing right now that they are the team.

Why.

I know you want to look in and say, oh, they're barely winning this, but look, this is still a team that is undefeated.

Right.

When you talk about a team that has depth, the Kansas City Chiefs.

They just find a way.

Your star wide receiver gets hurt, that's the right. We've got a rookie for that. You're running back goes out hard runner. We all love Pacheck Coo. That's all right. We'll find a guy that we used to have that we got rid of. We'll just bring him back right off the street. Come on, come on in, and we'll still make it happen. You cannot underestimate the talent of the Kansas City Chiefs. And do I have to say his name? Do I have to say his name? I'll say it to it. Patrick Mahomes home home, man. The dude is a winner. At some point, you just have to recognize game, recognized game. And I even got to this big fellow right here, like he was just warming up. What I say about the k The start the car, old engine, that old engine crink up and once a double pump, come on, man, Like the Kans City Chiefs are the best team. Let's not fool ourselves in the AFC. It's clearly them over the Ravens.

Okay, so you're out on that, I'm out. I'm in on the Ravens. And can I show you why it's my friend behind these a Flowers. There was a day in August. Let me tell you. Some might call to throwaway fantasy football segment where we had to draft wide receivers and the heat I got for putting Zay Flowers on my team from our friends down the hallway at Fantasy Life. To add this very table and on these couches here, I will not stand for it. Now Zay Flowers is catching nine passes for one hundred and thir thirty two yards. It's supporting cast members like that that make the Baltimore Ravens a great team. Right now, and you need multiple options. If you're Lamar Jackson, who can run the ball, who can throw the ball? Mark Andrews Isaiah likely. I don't care who it is Zay Flowers. Perhaps that's why I'm in on this question.

Peter, I love it, Jamie, I would I would like it if I was there during that segment, if you had picked Zave Flowers with some conviction, and really I think it was a panic pic and then you were petrified after you did it, had no explanation.

What did Adam Raank come in and say, how do you not take Michael Fittman instead?

It was a love you gotta take a loud.

Dare good right quickly quickly.

I don't really We're in the strangest time right now with saying what teams are the best. It is a very bizarre era for power ranking because you have this whole loathness to say anybody else than the Chiefs. I don't think the answer is the Chiefs right now. I know they have an undefeated record, but if we're trying to look at teams based on how they're playing, not five years ago or two years ago or one year ago, I don't think it's the Chiefs. Actually, don't think it's the Ravens. I think the best team in the AFE right now is the text. I loved the Texans that Bill's Timmy watched last night.

They destroyed them.

Their only loss was to the team I think is the best team in the NFL, the Vikings.

But listen the.

Chiefs, like, are they going to win in the end. Of course they're going to win in the end. It's not what the question is asking. It's who's the best right now? And this is not even close to the best chief football we've seen. But I don't think it's the Ravens either. Peide, I go Texans.

Okay, what does that even mean the best? I mean if you say the best right now, If you say the best.

Undefeated is the best undefeated is the best?

If you put these two standings, it's power rankings. If you're watching the games and saying, like they have a great record, but I think they're playing better than them. So like the Ravens lost to the to the Raiders, does that mean that No, But the last few weeks they've played great.

Oh okay, all right, I'm still going with the Chiefs.

If we just go by record, Then what's the point everybody says Chiefs and Vikings says, they're all undefeated.

We'll go deaf, We'll go deaf.

Nobody has a deeper squad that's playing better than the.

Chiefs, the Chiefs.

The Chiefs have great coaching line up right now and try to stop the Ravens.

Can you who we're talking anybody? Anybody talking about the third ranked defense in the Kansaity, But they didn't need the third ranked defense in the Kansas Chiefs.

Yeah they can right now, yeah, right now. Yes, you're not stopping the Ravens right now. On one hand, when they face the Chiefs.

No, Chris Jones is not the third ranked defense the Kansas City Chiefs.

It is a third ranked defen hear you, but not not against this Ravens right now.

The way in which they have figured out how they get the running game going with King Henry and have the dual threat ability of Lamar Jackson. Earlier in this season, when those guys face they hadn't figured it out yet. They literally were just coming out of training camp. Now, this team right now, that's that's what we're doing.

We just make it.

Excuse right here, the third rank defense. They're going up against the number one ranked offense, So we'll go with rankings of like we're gonna trump each other, then you would go number one offense.

Hey, akbar h, I'm with you, dude. I think the Chiefs should be number one too.

There's something called the good experience and finding ways to win, and I think it's a value in that too. So five and zero, But look at the teams they've ben. They've all been very good and they find a way.

When it matters.

Next up, very sensitive term around here, and we're already flipping the page to next week.

Saquon Barkley returns.

To MetLife on Sunday wearing an Eagles jersey. So the statement is this Sunday's Giants Eagles game qualifies as a revenge game for sequon A lot of layers to this. Is this a revenge game for Saquon Barkley going back to the to MetLife?

Is it not a revenge game?

I don't.

He doesn't have no giinbag. But he is going to put them up on notice, right. He is going to let them know what what you how you treated me is not how I'm gonna I'm gonna respond, Okay, that's the exactly one you put me on blast, you embarrass me on on on the dog On Show, right during Hard Knocks.

Right.

So I'm going to remind you what I'm capable of because you underutilized me when I was there, right, you disregarded me. And now I'm in his position where I'm going to make you pay it, and I'm gonna make sure the entire nation is aware of it.

You know what, I'm gonna go with something a little different because I respect you, Kyle, and I know that you don't.

Like the term revenge game.

I hate it. It is a revenge game. But I just whispered that you didn't hear me.

I'm gonna call this retaliation game. This is the retaliation game. I just went with the synonym and I just said, I figured that sounds better. But of course he's gonna retaliate. Y'all gonna do this to me. Y'all gonna do this to me like Saint Kwon Barkley. Come on, man, you know he can't wait to fly on the Giants.

Come on now, going train to day on?

Oh yeah, put in cases on all you playing basketball.

I'm out on revenge game, mostly because when Kyle Brandt does that thing where he does the long blink because he can't believe that those are the words that Peter Schrager just said, like that's you know, it's you know, we're getting to a place where you don't want to.

I'm so mad.

The Chiefs are the best team in the league, something I saw on that first topic.

I'm hung over from that.

Not on this because Saquon Barkley is a sweet man and we've had him on the show and I just don't think this is in his spirit. Now, if the Bills traded or didn't want to pay like Dion Dawkins, who was like a nasty human on the field to a division rival, and then he goes back and play the Bills, I would say that's a revenge game because like he has the personality to make it revenge full? Is that a word? Not sure? And avengeful? Is it is not a revenge game for Saquon Barkley?

Should I do my little truth?

This is this is why we play the game, all right?

My take is that and the show we always aspire to do original things outside the norm. Revenge game as a term is one of the easier, lazier things to do in sports media. When we need a segment. Here's a player who used to be on this team and now they're playing him. So revenge game, man, let's go to commercial.

It's just bad. And it's always always not true either.

Typically these guys will say it's a business.

I understand I had to move teams.

Look no further than this year when Malik Willis is playing for the Packers.

He's playing against the Titans, and I was like, ooh, revenge game. Revenge game. What if you say? It's like, I love the Titans. They brought me to the lead, they gave me a chance.

Even Stefid Diggs against the Bills wasn't a revenge game because he wanted to leave the Bills and they allowed it for it to happen.

Now, this might be a road talk about it. This is why you take this out.

It is not only that it was a very contentious, difficult negotiation.

It was on national television.

It was a division rival, and now you're playing against him. This is something you can actually put the term on. However, it's TVD and it will show itself. Will and Saquon will show it If Saquon Barkley scores a touchdown and looks up at the Giant's crowd and does something like this or points to the front office, then it is a revenge game. But if he's out there shaking hands my old teammates, oh, the old Janet or all that stuff that they do, it's not. I know we want it to be because it's salacious in the media. It will show itself, will find out this weekend.

Yeah, seeing Aaron Jones with the equipment managers in Lambeau and hugging them and they'll hugging them phil It's sweet.

I will say this. I am very.

Interesting to see about the reception Saquon gets if Saquon had gone to the Chicago Bears or Saquon had gone to the Houston Texans, which are two teams that apparently were in the conversations. I think Saquon comes back on Sunday to MetLife, to a standing ovation and to an entire video montage from the Giants Organs. I really do he chose to go to the Philadelphia Eagles, the most hated team the rivals from right down the Amtrak line. He could have gone elsewhere. He chose to play for that hated, hated Eagles team through the Giants fans boo Saquon is a very interesting because Packers fans didn't.

Boo Aaron Jones.

Aaron Jones was a made guy and a legendary Packer. Saquon is not a legendary giant. He underperformed, he under delivered. He is not some made guy with them, and then he did what.

You just said. I think they will boom.

I do.

We would love it. It would make for the definitive revenge game. At Kyle, I cannot believe you just didn't about Facebook revenge game like I thought. I tracked on the pace.

Why leave that trump.

The list of words we are not supposed to use.

He wants to win that game.

I'm all confused.

That's exactly why you went to Philly. He wants to win this game. It's revenge.

Hey, everybody, welcome back to GMF mean, look at Round RIVERA joining us at thea's opening.

How's everybody but good?

Good, We're good, We're great. We are fired up. That's exactly right. Many people are fired up today. We were going to talk Dallas Cowboys because it's easy to do, the state of the nation in Dallas is fodder for many right now. However, in the commercial break, now we're hearing from Dallas that in his regularly scheduled radio interview appearance with one oh five to three the Fan, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is really on one, one might say, on the phone because the radio interviewers, who are gentlemen that he speaks to every day are asking him questions about moves that he did or did not make with the Cowboys this offseason, and it is an impassioned response. And now Isaiah Standback is here with us, of course as well. He does the pregame show for the Cowboys. And you were just on the phone with one of your producers.

Yeah, we're trying to get understanding what's going on in the situation right now. And my understanding is that he was getting pressed on some of the decisions that are kind of looming right Everybody wants to know what is going to be your response to this abysmal performance of the Dallas Cowboys.

It hasn't been looking good recently.

Obviously, you just got embarrassed at your house by the Detroit Lions on your birthday. He's not feeling good about that obviously. So when you're getting pressed about certain things that you're not making decisions on, you're not necessarily gonna get the greatest of responses. So I think that right now, mister Jones, obviously in a whirlwind of emotions. People are wanting him to take action, They want him to fire somebody. Everybody always wants a response, and the reality is they're still three and three, they're still in a good position, but it just has to get back on the track. So I think that right now he's probably emotionally on edge right now, and they probably just pushed the button a little bit too much and they got a response out of them.

All right, let me give some context here.

They had Jerry Jones on the owner of the team, and they ask him about not making more moves in the off season for that's and in responses this to the radio host.

This is not your job.

Your job isn't to let me go all over all the reasons I did something. That's not your job. I'll get somebody else to ask these questions. I'm not kidding. You're not going to figure it out what the team is doing right or wrong. And if you are or any five or ten of you like you you need to come to this NFL meeting in Atlanta. I'm going to go to today with thirty two teams here. You're all geniuses. That's the response he gave. So let's go from there.

I mean, the interesting thing is is that you know, he's talking about making decisions for these radio hosts and maybe taking their job and maybe not taking the same analysis and bringing it in house to make the changes necessary for them to go on and be a quote unquote America's team.

That's that's that's wild.

It's very It's a lot of energy emotionally right now being spent maybe ill placed, if you will, for Jerry Jones, Ron Rivera as a head former head coach, and.

This love che somebody who.

Has had to deal with teams that have hit a wall at times, owners that are frustrated, jobs are being questioned, what's the situation?

Like, you know, the big thing you got to do is figure out where do you got to go from here? And to me's go back to your base fundamentals of what got you to where you've been. Big part of what they're not doing well is running the football and stopping the run. Those are the two things that everybody talks about. If you listen to that game the other day, all they talked about was their inability to stop the run, their inability to run the football.

But what's Mike McCarthy feeling right now?

Oh, he is feeling part he is most certainly because it's been talked about since last season about making a change, and so the big thing I think.

Mike, really, you know, to me, I would do this.

I'm not gonna tell Mike what I would go back to running the football and trying to be better at stopping the football. Don't be one dimensional. Don't put it all on Dak. Dak is expected to do it.

I get it. He's got all the money.

That's a big thing that everybody's Well, he gets paid for it. Yeah, he does get paid for it, but doesn't get paid to do everything he does. He gets paid to manage the offense, run the offense, and make plays when they need him to make plays, not all the time. That's a lot of pressure for one guy. You've got an opportunity to run the football. Got Ezekiel Ell power back. Now for the most part, Rico Daddle, who I think is a good back, who can be very serviceable, help them do what they need to do to win football games.

But if you're a McCarthy, do you add meetings to this week? Do you pay more attention? Like, how do you acknowledge the fact that the owner of your team, the ultimate boss, seems a little stressed about the situation.

Get up in front of the team and tell the guys, this is what we need to do. We need to get back to the base fundamentals of who we are as a football team. We've got to be a physical, running football team. What it does is it makes the play action pass better. Okay, and if you're not doing that, as far as your offense is concerned, they know they can rush the passer, they can get after Dak and that's the guy that's supposed to make all your plays when he's a complete focal point of your opponent. Get the ball to CD Lamb as much as possible. Whether you've got to hand it off to him, you got to throw it to him. Run the football, use your weapons all right.

Ron, Mike's in his final year of his contracts. We're in the bye week. Everyone wants him to lose his job. I'm going to point it to you as a head coach when you walk out of that building and you got to do your daily life, Like, what is it like when those words are swirling and the fans are calling for a job? How do you stay in the pocket? How do you stay focused?

And how do you.

Express that to your team that Hey, I'm good, we're good. We just got to keep on getting this thing done.

Well, exactly what you just said.

To get in front of the players and tell them what they're capable of. They know what they're capable. Look what they did last season. Granted at the end of the year it petered out. We understand that. Let's focus in on the one game at a time approach. Let's stay focusing on what we do and control the things that we control. I know it's just words, but that's the truth of the matter. We can't get distracted by what's going on in the outside world. Those people aren't on our side. Circle the wagons, have each other's back.

Let's go win some football games. I'd love to bring you in, Ron.

Let's go get Rona to Texas run and I have them talk to the team. Listen, it's not that we're doing another segment about Jerry has a quote. Jerry always has quotes. It's how loaded they are and how angry he is. Peter read a huge excert of it. He went on to say, though, he says, on the radio show, you really think you're going to sit here with a microphone and tell me all the things that I've done wrong without going over the rights. So he goes on and he says, people said I was wrong to buy the Cowboys, and look, it's not about that. It is about how Jerry seems as ornery, as defensive as I've ever seen him since nineteen eighty nine when he bought the team, and he as saying, Mike McCarthy, from my cold dead hands, He's not doing it. And now it becomes a point of like of defensiveness and pride. I'm not going to do it because you all say I want to do it. I'm not going to just because of that. I don't know if we've lost the message here and if it's getting away from what is actually good for the football team. I hope Ron's right and we just call some run plays and we get a win. But that is not a great offense and it is not a great situation. I've never seen Jerry more angry and more defense.

I mean, can they do it with the running backs that they have right now? That's the question. I mean, I know earlier, remember Derrick Henry's too expensive when there was not oportunity too expensive. But I don't know that Elliott Endowder or the answer for this run game.

I wonder what Jerry Jones has to say about not signing Derrick Henry this offseason. No, I think we have the answer. We're going to wrap up our show in just a minute. We'll be right back, ron VERA very timely appearance by you.
