Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.

Good Morning Football.

Hey, everybody, this is our show.

It's called Good Morning Football.

We are presented as always by old Trapper Beef Jerky. Here we are at the table, live in Los Angeles. This is Michael Robinson. This is Akbar, Basja Miama, I'm Jamie Erdall out of New York. Sits Peter Scheger and Kyle Brandt. Am Rob back at the table. We always appreciate having you here. And today is September eleventh. Of course, it is one of the darkest days in the history of our country. As a show, we talk football three hundred and sixty five days a year, but that does not mean that we do not stop down and think about New York City and the country on a day like today as we turn to honor and remember those who lost their lives in a day of remembering, rob though Okbar got to speak on just what it has meant to you know, be a football player in this era since September eleventh, and just what this day means to you as it is very much a part of our football sports calendar.

Yeah, it means a lot. I know, for me, I was a freshman at Penn State at the time. We had a game that week, and I remember Joe Paterno at the time just kind of bringing us all in the team meeting room and you know, letting us know how important this moment was just in American history and how important we were to helping Americans kind of get over with what's happened. And you know, there was a lot going on and a lot of different storylines and things like that. But yes, today, I'll definitely never forget.

Absolutely Peter Kyle our show used to sit right next to that memorial and that building. We would walk by it every day, and it's always important to remember it today.

Yeah, look, I remember the one year anniversary, I remember the five year auniversity. It's twenty three years and this city still treats it like it was yesterday because we want to remember those who have fallen. I'll say this, Prince Street Pizza one of the top pizza places here. They always have famous people on the walls. They've taken down the pictures of all the celebrities on their walls and they have put up the different firefighters whose lives were lost, and that's going to be that the whole week and maybe even longer. So this is still such a vibrant city, but it is still such a piece of our city's culture.

Yeah, and as we're looking at some of the ceremonies that they're going on now, Peter and I are still in Lower Manhattan as we speak. I have always been very proud to represent the NFL in New York City, and never more so than September eleventh.

Every single year, a moment of silence being held just nearby where Peter and Kyle just said, in Lower Manhattan on the anniversary twenty three years of September eleventh. We appreciate the access to that and just to hold it in our hearts in the middle of the week, even though we turn our page from week one to week two in the NFL schedule, and today we are going to look at a Sunday afternoon game as we head into the lead block of our show, it's Chiefs Bengals. Chiefs Bengals, which in the AFC has become kind of a roadblock of importance.

Specifically for the Chiefs.

Last weekend, the Bengals hosted the Patriots, and Frank when they consider the Chiefs in Week two. They probably never saw this coming if you were a Bengals fan. On Sunday, Joe Burrow said he didn't have an answer for the lack of offensive rhythm the Bengals had against the Patriots. But it's on brands with how the Bengals have started in seasons pass As we look at the last three season, Bengals are all in three under Joe Burrow. Now this is a tad bit unfair because in the first year, I think it was his appendix that came out of his body in the preseason. Last year he had a calf injury that he was trying to come back from and the season kind of unraveled. And this one he's got wide receivers who are in camp, out of camp's signed, not signed, paid, not paid.

So bumpy starts for.

The Bengals to start this season in Week one. But the Bengals are still historically a team that has beat the Chiefs in Joe Burrow's tenure, So and Rob, can they do it in Arrowhead?

Yeah, they can do it in Arrowhead.

When you think about this just being week one, I mean, I don't want to totally overreact to a loss. Week one, we've seen this Bengals team start slow. I do think they need to get Chase Brown a little bit more involved in the run game, get some explosives in the run game, so that Joe Burrow can kind of have a piece of his offense he can go to when things aren't you know, that can settle this offense down. But I will say this, the dynamic on this Bengals team is a little bit different this year. They don't have that full compliment of all those receivers and nice toys on the outside. You do have a discrunt o wide receiver on the outside who should be paid. He should you know, you know, he wants to be paid. He should be paid. And so he didn't practice, and so there's gonna be to me, there's gonna be a couple of weeks where this group is starting to find their rhythm and get their things together.

You talk about t Higgins, he's banged up right now.

So when you have a Jamar, Chase t Higgins and Tyler Board when there, when they were all out there, it's a little bit different presentation to the defense. The defense has a little bit more to worry about.

Well, now now you only really got to worry about.

Jamar Chase being that you know, coverage dictator and things like that. I believe from a defensive standpoint, it's a little bit easier to figure the figure them out. So I will say this, I don't want to overreact from the Cincinnati Bengals in Week one, but this year is a different dynamic. And I think you know Joe Burrow, that's why you've seen him have a little bit of the angry face on the sideline because I think he understands that, Yo, this dynamic is different this year. I don't know from I don't know from the business standpoint of this organization's gonna pay with wide receiver on the outside like you should be paid. I just think we should pump the brakes a little bit.

You know how they have the Manning cast now and you've got the game, and then you've got like the box and it's these two hosts and then there's the third guests in the middle. I'd love for Mayor Aftab puri Vall from Cincinnati to be brought on here. Why would I want the mayor of Cincinnati on a Manning cast likes fra turn it. That's the guy who said Burrowhead and called it Borrowhead and went all in on Burrowhead. And that was a couple of years ago, and they were filmed themselves. Remember Joe Burrow went into Arrowhead and beat the.

Chiefs in an AFC championship game. Got to go this role.

In the next year they played them again, and it was this cocky confidence coming from the Bengals, like we own Arrowhead, they called it Burrowhead. And the Chiefs ever since have just rolled. They've won two Super Bowls since, and the Bengals, we haven't heard much from them since.

So look, they're ow and one.

They lost to a team that everyone had thirty second ranked in their power rankings, and they lost them at home last week. I don't know where that confidence and swagger.

Went, but I'm not feeling it.

And maybe I'm not in Cincinnati with Mayor Perval to maybe feel that juice right now. But they might need some sort of pep talk, because I'll tell you what, it hasn't gone well in early September for the Bengals. CA we go down history history a little bit and go down memory later.

All right, So let's go.

Back to twenty twenty against the Chargers.

Why well, this was Week one.

They lost sixteen to thirteen in Week one to the Chargers with.

With Zach Taylor's first game, okay, right, fine.

The next year they go play Pittsburgh in twenty twenty two and.

They lose that game in Week one.

Last year they played Cleveland in the game that they were supposed to dominate because they were coming out then AFC Championship game. They lost twenty four to three against Cleveland in Week one, and then last week they lost Week one against the Patriots.

I say all this because I know Burrows come off injuries.

I know Burrow has an issue with Jamar Chase with his contract.

We got to figure out out didn't practice awesome?

Would it be asking so much for the Bengals to come ready to play in early September?

They are now one two, three four five.

They're one in five in week one since since twenty nineteen that was a Marvin Lewis and they are one two, three four or five, oh in five in Week two's they start off oh and two or one in one.

Every single season?

Can we get off to a better start every season? So at some point it's not just it just happened. Guess what Jamar Chase did in practice? Alsomer Joe Burrow is injured all the like, I don't know. Do I have confidence they're going to walk into Kansas City and win. They beat the Niners last year.

They do it.

Sometimes they go out there and they win these games. The Bengals are very good when they all were. For some reason, they just don't show up in early September, and I don't have much confidence are going to and Mayor Purvle I'd love to see on the broadcast throughout Is.

He still the sitting mayor? Is help? Let's find out research. Can we find out if Mayor pur Ball is still the ball politics? I don't know either.

Listen, everybody has heard this thing now over the last week that Zach Taylor loses week one, Week one, Week one, and then you're like, well, I'm.

Sure they figured out Week two. They don't want week two. They just they don't.

In fact, I remember once they want They lost at Chicago and I think Burrow through like two pick sixes, like it was just a complete disaster.

And yet they lost Week two.

In a year that they went to the title game, they lost Week two and they went to the super Bowl. They figure it out, and they figure it out fast. I listen, this is my chorus this week. I'm not burying any of these teams. I am not I am not doing it. I'm not saying that the Giants are the number one pick in the draft. I'm not saying that the Patriots are going to the playoffs.

I'm not lifting. I will not do it. I won't do it with the Bengals if they lose this week. I will not.

If you go to Arrowhead and you lose the Chiefs and everything and it' said. I don't know one to twenty twenty one third, I don't care. This team has a great quarterback and a super Bowl coach, all right, they got incredible. This incredible that they have the ingredients. This is not some new concoction we're trying to get her hands on. We've been around with this team. We know what they do. Zach Taylor is a good coach. He has real problems early in the season. I don't know what to tell him, but I'm sure he knows about it. I am not burying this team. I don't think they're going to go in a Kansas city and win, but I'm not going to give up on money.

They don't.

I'm a flatter team in the NFL. Last week, ter Yes, And I'll tell you what was scary. The Patriots looked more disciplined. The Patriots looked more experience, which is a Bengal team that's been through at all. The Patriots looked more in shape. They ran the ball the entire game, right through it and they just ran out the clock and it was like it was demoralizing. So that was in front of their home audience. That was in front of their fans. Are going to Kansaity, Now you're going to Borrowhead?

I don't know. I don't know Borrowhead. I still think that's a funny name.

But I like the name though, because there's something to say about that. It's because they're three and two against Kansas City Chiefs. But here's the thing. It's like stepping up for that bully, right, It's that bully that you know, come in. He's the biggest dude on campus. Everybody knows that this dude can fight, and oftentimes what happens is that that bully overlooks the person that has that opportunity to just give you a nice uppercut, and it just feels like, you know, in this situation, the Bengals have that opportunity, they have that number. They're they're not as big and as sexy and got all the other accolades as this Kansas City Chiefs, but they've got a nice little uppercut. And every single time it seems like they get that uppercut on the Kansas City Chiefs. You go back to that AFC Championship game back in twenty twenty one. We got the tape here. I mean like they just find a way to do it. And so I'm thinking, yes, they started off sloppy against the Kansas excuse me, against the New England Patriots.

Yeah, they were off.

They had the fumbles the Patriots, they had no fumbles, They secured the ball. And I think, and Rob, you know this, if you have the turnovers, if you're losing the battle and turnovers, it's very hard in the NFL to win games. And so they had a lot of self inflicted wounds on themselves dropping balls and all this other stuff.

They look sloppy.

You talked about preseason, right, you're still trying to work out this week one, this.

Week one, you're trying to work out the kinks.

So I'm going to say they have an opportunity to go into It's a very hard place, have played that place. It's very hard to win in Kansas City. But they're not out just because they lost the first game to the New England Patriots.

A couple of points of business to take care of here on GMFB confirmed aftab Pirival still the mayor of Cincinnati, for you gentlemen in New York City who care about the origination of barrowheads still there. Secondly, did you guys see this report out of some beat writers in New England that during the game, as the Patriots were wearing on this Peter to your point that the Patriots looked really in shape, that the guys on the sideling were yelling to each other for the Patriots.

They take them to the hill, because.

Drod Mayo was making them run the hill.

Take them to the hill.

And so the Pats took the Bengals on their.

Home field to the hill. That's how in shape they were.

Distress being said sow Good, Peter curious the farther we get away from January twenty twenty one, that overtime AFC title game? Does it become less and less that That's an argument that you could make about this Bengals team because the roster changes. Sure, your quarterback and coach is the same, But the farther you get away from a singular event happening, to me, it's the less of an argument.

Jamie, It's a good point. This game's on CBS.

I assume Nanson Romar on it Is this the last time we get Nanson Romo for a Chiefs Bengals game?

Like, are we already writing off the Bengals?

It seems like it's one game, and last year, this whole second half of the season felt like it was a lost deal because of the.

Injury to Burrow.

I would love to see this be a shootout and for Burrow and for Chase to get it going be like, you know, that was the rivalry of the NFL less than two years ago, the rivalry, and I don't think it feels that way this week at the moment.

Both of these teams have had some back and forth and rivalry with the Buffalo Bills, and I just want to address something for the audience.

A Buffalo Bills receiver Mac Hollins.

Is a really unusual guy who we really like. You scored a touch on this last weekendst the Cardinals. We mentioned that after the game he took a bottle of water and put a bunch of peanut and M and ms in it what appeared to be and we thought it was really strange, so we did it today. And if you're looking on the screen like, what is that disgusting beverage that Brent has?

That one of those colon cleansers or something, No, this.

Is actually just a bottle of water that I put piano and M and MS in and shook it up, and this is what happens to it. It's like a dark green, almost ecdo cooler looking thing like an Audrey two.

We've got here.

So if you're looking on scream you like, get that out of my face.

I think I will. But this is all it is is the MATC Collins chocolate candies with water, and this is what happens to it. So I'll get it out here because it's really gross.

Losers of the AFC have to chug that. If you can't take down the Kansas City Chiefs on your riddle to the super Bowl, I know, all right, Ian Rappaport, Good morning to you, our insider assigned to the show to check in on the news. I there is a revenge game that was brewing for week two, but is it gonna happen?

I'd say there was a revenge in this game that was brewing for week two one. I think all of us we're really looking forward to, not that Russell Wilson needs revenge of the Denver Broncos who made him rich for many, many lifetimes and then unceremoniously released him when he was no longer good enough to be their starting quarterback. But we all thought that this was going to be Russell Wilson now quarterback for the Pittsburgh Scheeers against the Broncos this week. Does not seem though, that that's going to happen. Russell Wilson, of course, last week, came down with calf tightness, was not able to start. It seemed like the Steelers really new, probably had a good idea on Friday, ended up taking it all the way to game time. Wilson kind of sort of worked out pregame, but really it was going to be justin fields all along. Fields was essentially flawless. Got the offense work and took care of the ball in a way that he really needed to and the Steelers wuldn't want to know. So he is expected to start again this week as Russell Wilson gets himself back to full form. Now, Mike Tomlin said that russ has been improving may practice this week. I'd say Thursday probably seems most likely day for him to get out there in practice. But the plan is for Justin Fields and of course, guys, if he goes out and wins, then it's going to make a much more complicated decision for Mike Tomblin next week.

But we will.

Across that bridge if it becomes, you know, whatever, a bridge gets built or whatever.

Okay. The other topic that has now come.

To the forefront, unfortunately for the Cleveland Browns and for Deshaun Watson, he is now facing a civil lawsuit from an alleged incident from twenty twenty. This alleges sexual assault.

And other things.

This is i would say somewhat similar to the more than two dozen lawsuits from twenty twenty.

Now.

This led to questions about the status of Deshaun Watson going forward. The NFL has come out with a statement saying, first of all, they are looking into reviewing the complaint, look into this under the personal conduct policy. The question was raised, does this mean that Deshaun Watson's going to be placed in the Commissioner's exempt list.

It does not.

The reason why they're soh formal charges. The league review has just begun and they are reviewing the matter. So no Commissioner's exemplest as of now for Deshaun Watson. Obviously at that changes are is altered. We will let you know, but status quo as far as his playing status going forward.

And Ian Jamis Winston and Dorian Thompson Robinson still on that roster. The Browns carry those three quarterbacks in from preseason correct?

Correct?

Yep, right, Jamis is on the sideline ready to go, which hopefully for the Browns is not a necessary thing.

All right, rap Sheet, thanks so much, We appreciate you. The Browns travel to Jacksonville this weekend.

We got to look back one more time though.

Peter's got his eye on some rookies from week one and after the break. It's the debut of the twenty twenty four season four Fab five Top five list for Peter Schreker.

Kyle Let's go come on now.

Then the Niners just absolutely took it to the Jets on Monday Night football without their best player with it enough to get the tops spot in this week's Power Ringkings the.

Niners best team in the NFL. It's got for one week. Let's go. I love the Week one Power Rankings. Where's your favorite team? Right after this? Good morning football, let's go. We're back.

Hey, we're back for another season of a segment we called the Fab Five.

Here's how it works. If you're watching at home.

Each week, I'm gonna share my top five rookie performers.

We're going to rank them five to one.

And last year is where we discovered names like Puka Nakula and b John Robinson and Jalen Carter and of course the winner of Offensive Rookie of the Year, CJ.

Stroud.

So what about this year's rookie stars. We had a bunch in Week one who were the top five.

Let's go. Let's go number five.

We head down to Miami where the Jacksonville Jaguars had a rookie wide receiver who showed up and showed out. This is Brian Thomas Junior. That is a touchdown. Reception.

And that's fine.

Thomas had a big day stat wise, he was there, he showed up. He was maybe the best rookie wide receiver numbers wise. But look right here where Trevor Lawrence releases the ball and look at where Thomas is.

Okay, look at this passing catch? Are you serious? Jack? This is what we're talking about. This is when Calvin Ridley goes to Tennessee.

There's gotta be somebody who filled the void. It's gonna be Game Davis on one side, and it's gonna be this guy on the other. Brian Thomas Junior makes the list as number five, despite not getting the dub against the Dolphins.

Number four, we are going to a player who made his NFL debut and did so against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a loss.

Not even Jenden Daniel, who had some moment.

Jaden Daniels number four, and he did it with his legs.

Look, I don't know what to make of this Washington Commander's team.

After one week, the defense couldn't stop anything but Daniels. He had all the vans here and there, and he also was tough. Does this last for eighteen weeks? Check this out here Daniels working on the sideline and gets.

It this one. Here he's on the goal line, he's looking. He gets his.

Helmet popped off at one point here, and yet he's.

Still fighting fighting.

This is one of the toughness young guys you'll see. Now, his build is not huge, and I don't know if that lasts for eight two weeks, but Jaden Daniels ran the ball effectively and.

Was making plays.

Check this out.

Most rushing yards in an NFL debut won a rookie season, not only the most ever, Kyle the most ever. Buy thirty something on yards and he did it by forty one yards.

I remember Burrow had a long run in his debut before he said, and it was like, oh, the Ni's fine.

Jaden Daniels Heisman Trophy winner again in a loss and actually what ended up being a blowout, I still gotta throw my flowers at him. Jayden Daniels ran the ball effectively and was certainly the leader of a Washington offense that did have some success against Tampa Bay.

Let's go to some winning teams.

Number three, Your assignment, rookie, your first ever NFL game is to go up against one of the best pass rushers in the entire league and just keep him at Bay.

That would be Max.

Crosby and number three Chargers rookie right tackled.

Joe Alt right out of the gate.

We got offensive line talk, Kyle I like it. We got offensive line talk because Joe All did not give up a single sack on Sunday. Crosby was silent in this game because Joe Wall had this type of performance in an NFL debut.

Joe Walt's like six point eight. He's enormous. He's a monster. They drafted him fifth over all.

A lot of people are wonderach ow they go wide receiver.

No, they got that guy. They got Lad McCaughey. He's another rookie. They're gonna take him in the second round. Joe Walt was fantastic right out.

I guess said, look, you got Rashaun Slater, you got Joe All, you got Justin Herbert. This Chargers offense is shaped up pretty good to the stack here from next Gen.

We love this by aws. Twenty eight pass.

Blocking snaps, zero sacks allowed, only three pressures allowed.

Man, this is a rookie, Joe All.

We do not neglect the offensive line Kret Humphrey used to win on this segment all the time. Definitely last year we saw several offensive linemen get love. You are making it in the top three for your Week one performance. But number two, we're going back down to Tampa Bay. Ladies and gentlemen, let's get to know Bucky Irving.

Talk about it.

Give him the rock to Bucky Irving and let him roll.

Bucky Irving had a day and that Leonard for Net seven. I love seeing it. Bucky Irving was.

A dominant back in this game, running all over.

The Washington Commanders.

Now Bucky in a year where you have all this stuff, Let's take a look at his stats versus some of the other rookie running backs that played this season.

Because I was.

Looking at it, none of the other rookie running backs came even close.

To Bucky Irving's numbers. Check this out. He had sixty two rushing yards. Every other rookie running.

Back who touched the football this week combined had fifty three yards. Bucky Irvin did that thing. Greg Allman with the stat there. But here's the coolest part. He's a rookie, it's his first game, he's in front of his home. Certainly the fans aren't going to be chanting his name. Take a listen to the Fox broadcast and what we heard in the crowd member.

Bucky Irving, Bucky Bucky. Take a listen right here, they're.

Chanting Bucky, Bucky, Bucky. There's a rookie and first round pick. Bucky Irving is number two on our list. So who is better than Bucky Irving? Well, usually I have context.

I like to have a guy who made big plays, whose.

Team won a game, and who had a.

Performance where you're like, oh, not only do I know that name, now I need to be following that name. The number one performer of Week one is a first round pick for the Kansas City Chiefs, Xavier Worthy.

I'm on a number one, Xavi, You're Worthy.

First time ever touching a football in an NFL game is right here and after a summer's worthy of hype and build up and grainy footage from a fans camera from training camp watching him go date shot vertically, shot vertically, This guy would shot out of a cannon. It has that touchdown there, and then Marlon Humphrey is a good corner in the league, gets mixed up with the communication with the safety and has another one here. This was the game of the week, if you're asking me, and.

It was the first one we had.

And Xavier Worthy was the biggest breakout player. Two touchdowns in an NFL debut, scaring the life.

Out of thirty one defensive coordinators that have to face him this season.

The first round pick out of Texas, the fastest receiver to ever run a forty that's been recorded at the Combine. Oh, the fastest player that's ever run a forty at the Combine to have it recorded. I'm going with Xavier where here's our list of the fabulous five.

It is all over the board.

If you were to tell me before the season, pick your top five rookies in week one, well, we've got.

Four different first round picks, so that works.

And then we got a running back in Bucky Irvin, who I still want a cham Fucky.

Fucky Bucky. That's the list. Akbar.

You were in Los Angeles, you rain the alarm at the siren whatever it was called out there for that Raiders Chargers game, and as a defensive end, you were probably keeping your eye on Max Crosby. I'm sorry, my friend Max Crosby was silent. Howkbar your reaction to this Fab five and number three Joe Alt going up against your boy Crosby, who he did such a great sit down interview at this summer.

Well, I love the fact that you have such a diverse group there, you know, to showcase the rookies, and of course having an offensive lineman like tackle Joe out there. It was a great, great matchup to see Max Crosby against the first round pick for the Chargers. And I'll tell you what I love about him at six eight, three hundred and twenty two pounds. I just love the way he utilized his techniques. I mean got he's got quick feet, That's what you need as an offensive lineman. The way he's staying inside of Max Crosby, utilizing the great leverage and balance As an offensive lineman, this is very hard when you got a guy who can get vertical like a Max Crosby, ben the edge that is very hard to control. I see Joe Alt, and you know, I think everybody was thinking, wait, what is Jim Harball doing getting a guy like Joe Ault when you could have addressed maybe the wide receiver position. You see why he had eleven matchups against one on one against Max Crosby. Zero pressures. That's Max Crosby. We're talking about zero pressures. Good job for Joe.

Alt Well, I'm gonna say a great job for Peter Oh my goodness. The list is diverse, the position versatility, the analysis. I played at Monterias in the Nascady. Yeah, I played the Matias in the National Football League, and I don't get that tied for that that opportune. I mean, bro, for real, I'm being honest, man, great job, and I agree with you. I think Xavier Worthy was the top rookie this year. I mean in Week one for him to have the fastest forty at the combine, for everybody in the world in the off season to talk about how it's cheating that you allow Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid to get this video game guy, and then he goes out and as one of the biggest games in all of the National Football League Week one, get takes them.

First, all the way for a touchdown, all of that.

Man Like, at the end of the day, man, I just I don't know how the National Football League allows that to happen with the Kansas City Chiefs, But I got to give it up to Peter Man.

Great job man. The list is off the chain, but real talk, love you, Michael. Mike's a really nice guy. Peter not clapping for you. Did a fine job. It's like you kind of at work.

You've done better segments, You've done worse segments.

I do, though. I want to say that I have a dream now. I just really crystallize for me.

If we get the end of the season and this team is in the playoffs and they have just run the be Jesus out of the ball all year, and this player has not given up a single sack, can we have an offensive lineman for the OFFENSEI Rookie of the year.

It has never happened in history. I looked it up all the way back. If Joe All doesn't give up.

A sack all year, the Chargers in the playoffs and they have massive rushing totals, let's give it to Joe All six quarterbacks drafted one offensive tago start.

I want one for what to check in every week, the alt watch, let's go. I want to ave choice.

All right, calling you out on a technicality, how do you how do you quantify this fifty rushing touchdowns? Then how about that, like he's walking on the right side of the field.

That's what it's not sacked. If he stops the sack.

I'm actually digging this if he stops to because you know, Lommie, don't get loved.

Don't get me, I get emotional.

Greg Roman pushed him in motion like Trent Williams that in the playoffs that you can actually use him as they.

Do something like that. Been a soul of something. They do something like that and we score a bunch of touches. Okay, I get that.

But he's got Chris Jones in his division as well.

So I mean, I just I think that I have a name for it.

All right, So he is in he's in complete control, and he just deletes past Russ called control all deleted.

Guys. Let me just start everything over. Okay, you do it.

It's time to name the week one Way to Play winner this week, now, guys, this is a great award for the NFL Way Way to Play Award Winner Week one. Let's get some love to long snapper Joe Cordona from the New England Patriots. Let's go not so much for the snap on this punt, even though it was perfect check out how he gets down field and puts the textbook hit on Charlie Jones.

His face mask is right on the ball as he knocks it loose.

A great open field tackle, perfect technique and a great example of way to play. Its the Patriots pull off the upset win in Cincinnati or its Cordona could select a youth or high school program to receive a five thousand dollars equipment grant from the NFL Foundation. If all you want to be long snappers out there, be sure to check out playfootball.

Dot com for more tips on way to play. That was a great play right there, guys. Great play.

Now for a week one NFL flag way to play a world winner.

Meet Luke Otto.

He's the dB N white right here playing in the fourteen U division.

Outside Kansas City.

Now, Otto certainly looks locked in right here.

He reads the quarterback, he picks off the jump throw, then he asks this dip move.

Watch how he dips and splits the defense to avoid the flag pull and make it in for a touchdown on his own. Now that is the way to play, guys, because of his outstanding technique. Oh yeah, he does, oboy, Come on, man, we're too old for all that. All right, now for Week one NFL Way to Play High School, would let.

Me introduce you to Cayden Miller.

Out of Life Thornia High School in Georgia.

This kid does a great job of play recognition. Check this out.

He's looking at the quarterback at the quarterback is discussing the stuff.

Look how he gets down there.

He's looking at the quarterback almost like I like. The quarterback is telling Kayden to play. Before it happens, Kayden does a great job of standing square thinging from.

The receiver wid a seat. Receiver works vertically.

Let's get the second the receiver turns, Cayden drops back, falls back into the route combination and gets the interception as he stayed square picks off the slight route combination. Now Kayden does a great job of running this thing all the way back for a touchdown. Guys, which is the ultimate way to play technique. As you can see, also catches this pass with his hands. Now for Kayden's efforts his bulldog to receive a three thousand dollars equipment grant from the NFL Foundation. Thanks Sam ro So.

The biggest story out of Miami, still three days later, is Tyreek Hill's incident with Miami Dade police for the wide receiver was temporarily detained in the disturbing video that on Tuesday, his quarterback, to a Tongue of Biloa, gave his thoughts on what he saw.

He knows that he has my support.

I would say, just with just watching the film, in my opinion, I think it could have been de escalated another way.

I just, you know, I don't think it was done the right way, you know.

I mean, there's a lot of things that I think could have could have been done different.

The story would certainly be following, but heading out to the forty nine Ers, head coach Kyle Shanahan announcing running back Christian McCaffrey is considered day to day something with a calf an achilles injury. NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport is reporting McCaffrey is considered a long shot to play Sunday against the Vikings, and the Browns officially signing former Chiefs wide receiver Candarious Needed their practice squad. Tony a former first round pick of the Giants. He will now be on his third team in four seasons. Remember he was released by Kansas City in late August. Well, box wide receiver Mike Evans collected two touchdowns in Week one. Coming up next, Kyle takes us on his journey to being mister Reliable.

Stay here with us, good mom football.

All right, I want to talk about Mike Evans. Baker's like the coolest guy in the league right now. But I got to talk about Mike Evans. I was flying home from Los Angeles to New York recently, and you know, I just got a little loose, and I started thinking about football, and I was watching the games, and I was watching that Buccaneers game and I released this tweet.

I posted this on X and my tweet was that I have a Mike Evans take.

It's too hot for this platform, but I believe it. And so all these bucks Man just saying release the take, really, really, sis, we want to hear the take. Well, the take crystallized I think around the time this past week when he was scoring the second of two touchdowns and just another Mike Evans season Week one, coming out looking unstoppable and him scoring the first touchdown and then he just chanting.

In with the second.

He didn't even need, but I decided he should have it anyway. So here's the take. First, there's just warm up takes. I think Mike Evans was a Hall of Famer a couple of years ago.

I do.

I think last season he became a first ballot Hall of Famer after another thousand yard season, another playoff run.

And I have to come around to the take. Here's the take. Mike Evans is the greatest Tampa Bay buccaneer of all time, and I'm going to get into it. He is the one we have over a decade.

Now of dominance and durability by one of the best dudes in any locker room.

Now you have to split hairs a little.

Bit with the take like this between best Buck ever and greatest Buck. Has a buccaneer ever been better at their position for a given time than Mike Evans maybe maybe, but greatest that term, I think it means ability, success, and dominance.

Over a long period of time.

You, as a football fan, likely know about the astounding stat of ten straight years of one thousand plus yards. Did you know, though, that in many of those years he played every single game and has never played fewer than thirteen games in a season. The durability of Mike Evans is incredible. In a matter of weeks, He's going to catch his one hundred touchdown. There are eight wide receivers in history to hit one hundred. Every single one of them is in the Hall of Fame, most of them first ballot or guys who should have been like Tara Owens, and guys who will be like Larry Fitzgerald. But I am aware that the second I say greatest buccaneer ever, immediately you, the fan think of four legends of bucks past. I do too, Trust me. I grew up on Lynch and Barber and Brooks and Sap. Those guys are action figures. To me, they are heroes.

Derek Brooks a five time All Pro. I'm very aware of that. I love Derek Brooks.

I think each of those guys would openly admit that all of them being on the same team, in fact the same side of the ball, created and crafted their greatness.

And they played together through the greatest stretch of.

Bucks football, maybe any defensive football ever played. It was a hell of a group and they won a lot. Mike Evans went two and fourteen, still bald. He went five and eleven, still bald. Next year, went five to eleven, again still bald. In just over ten seasons, Mike Evans has had four head coaches, six offensive coordinators, seven starting quarterbacks, and he's.

Been amazing, and he's been great in huge games.

His first ever playoff game in twenty twenty had one hundred and nineteen yards. His most recent playoff game against Detroit last year, he had one hundred and forty seven yards in a touchdown. And I think if you consider what current player on their current team is the greatest player in the history of that franchise, I think it's Patrick Mahomes and Mike Evans. I think that is the list. They are the greatest ever of their franchise now. And I think Mike Evans is that he is big, he is fast, he is tough as hell, he doesn't get injured. He's beloved in the locker room and the community, and I think Mike Evans is the greatest Tampa Bay buccaneer of all time.

It was amazing and obviously anyone who's in Tampa knows. And this past offseason it was is he gonna leave? Is is Evans gonna be a free?

Oh? Lock him down? No?

They did everything they could to make sure that Mike Evans was taking care of financially so that he can score that hundred touchdown with the Tampa Buccaneers.

And he can do that.

Now, yours take at the end, because we can. We can split hairs that he and Mahomes. If you're listening at home, I wanted to play this topic. Are the only current players that are the greatest players of their individual franchise?

Is history?

Now?

If you want to debate Evans versus Rende Barber who played all those years and played all those positions, fine or Derek Brooks five time up for Fine. I was thinking, I'm like, could Miles Garrett being like no, immediately not, Jim Brown will always be the greatest. Brown's nothing Miles Garrett can do that's gonna top Jim Brown.

I'm like, all right, well.

Let's go as Lamar Jackson. Ray Lewis has two super Bowl rings. Ray Lewis, I don't know if anything and bloss Lamar wins three. I don't know if he's ever beating Red Lewis. It is a good quandary for you at home and for the guys.

And it's turd to me, is Josh Allen the greatest player never won MVP, never went to a Super Bowl?

Bruce Smith even or Thurman or Jim Kelly, but like Bruce Smith, to me, is the greatest bill of all time.

That's a good take.

It could be Jim Kelly went to four super Bowl STRMO one MVP. I don't think Josh is there yet. My point is all I got is Evans and Mahomes in thirty two teams. That's all they can think of. If you think of one about this guy and this team is the greatest ever. Peter and I at least right now, can this is good? That's good, it's fun topic.

Mike Evans is, in my opinion, greatest buck ever.

Good Morning Football is presented by old Trapper Beef Jerky.

What's your beef?

Apparently Matt Collins has a beef with me after he watched me duplicate his Eminem's in the water thing and says, whoa gotta let it marinate for at least two hours.

Kyle Max, first of all, never changed.

You know that we really love you, and especially when you played as well as you did against Arizona.

But guys like so he comes back and he says, no, you may seem weird. You just gotta let it sit for a couple hours.

Well, when I shook him up on the show those a couple hours ago, we just we let it.

Sit for Do you want to see where this concoction is?

But it's dark green and this is just Eminem's and water, and you know what the thing it has like a film at the top of.

It, that carbonation, this swamp things disgusting.

So I won't even shake it up. I'm not even gonna shake get Honestly, Now it tastes chocolate. Now it tastes pretty good. Before it was just water with Eminem's. It tastes like a very watered down you who and if this is what gets Matt Collins excited after.

It were we look at the bottom right coat, you know, Mike Robinson is a body is your temple?

Guy, Mike, what do you think of this? What do you think of this?
