Good Morning Football.

Hey everybody, this is Good Morning Football.

We are presented as always by old Trapper Beef Jerky Live. We sit here in Los Angeles. This is akbar Bajamiamila. I'm Jamie Erdel And out in New York City or back in New York City is Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt as they always are, as Ach Barns and pretty much all of the loyal Good Morning Football watchers. Our studio used to be in New York City. The four of us are at the breakfast table, and the studio itself and the building it was in looked down from fifty floors onto the September eleventh Memorial that was built. Today is September eleventh, and of course the commemoration ceremony is taking place today at Memorial Plaza back in New York City. And whenever football games fall on September eleventh and the anniversary of the tragedy, we always remember the heroes that arose that day. We will remember them, we will honor them here on this show. But Peter and Kyle we both know being Peter being a native New Yorker and Kyle living there for so long you and have such a connection to this day. But also the fact that our show and our studio used to sit right there.

Yeah, this is an important day obviously for so many and for us in New York. Kyle and I both are here right now. You could feel it every single year. It's been twenty three years, but we'd be remiss if we didn't spend the start of our show acknowledging the heroes and all of those lives who have been lost and all the families who remained. An incredible, incredible time to be in New York every single year on the nine to eleven Memorial And for us here, we are honored to do the show and pay tribute to those victims.

We sure are, and we've done it for years. And Peter and I have his personal memories that I've shared with you about your time with Kerry Collins and Curtis Martin from the Giants and the Jets respectively afterwards, and the way that the NFL continued and both of those were at the center of it. And I mean, it's bizarre that it was twenty three years ago and I mean it is. And you know, a year ago, I remember I was at MetLife Stadium. I was the Jets and Rogers and the flag and everything. And I talked to many people who were at MetLife Stadium that night, having nothing to do with the Rogers injury, and they just were That was the greatest environment I've ever been in that stadium. It's the loudest that ever heard that stadium, And a lot of it was because of the Jets, but a lot of it was because remembering what had happened that day so many years ago. So I'm away very proud to represent New York City on this show with the National Football League, and no day more than today.

Yeah, such an emotional moment been at MetLife Stadium. But here we are twenty three years later, like you guys said, and America is stronger than ever.

So yeah, the celebration and the remembrance is happening today. We will check in on that feed as well here on Good Morning Football, So.

Stay with us.

As of course, we continue to move along in the NFL week entering Week two. Rappaport joining us now to start off our day as we turn our attention to the forty nine ers and Christian McCaffrey and the availability of their backfield running back that is explosive as ever, if he was on the field in if.

He was on the field, is now the big question for Christian McCaffrey. And it feels to me, just taking stock of the situation talking to people involved, that Christian McCaffrey is a long shot to play this week against the Minnesota Vikings and go back a couple of days.

To Monday Night.

I think we all thought, in fact, to forty nine ers all thought the Christian McCaffrey was going to shake off some little tightness that he felt late in the week of practice, be able to work out and be able to play Monday night against the Jets, as he told reporters, as everyone had planned, he worked out pregame.

It was just not quite right.

And we talked a lot during the course of the preseason about Christian McCaffrey's calf injury is more than that. It is also achilles tendonitis, which can really be troublesome, and as Kyle Shanahan noted, that's actually the injury that's giving Christian McCaffrey more trouble, right now it's the injury that is requiring more treatment.

Than I would say the calf pull.

So that is why Christian McCaffrey did not play on Monday Night. It's a long season. He is as good as it gets. They want him healthy for the stretch run, so it makes sense for the forty nine ers to pull back a little bit and insure when he gets the field again, he is fully healthy. And oh, by the way, the fact that you have Jordan Mason, the former undrafted for agent who came in rushrover one hundred yards, ran incredibly hard and looked excellent against the Jets. The fact that you have him step in in McCaffrey's place not so bad for the forty niners.

Yeah, you can take your time having Christian McCaffrey return and make sure is he at one hundred percent because you have a player like that step in on Monday night football, Ian, Thank you so much. This thinks for Christian McCaffrey. It's a script that we've seen play out with him before. He's had injury riddled seasons. But whether or not this remains a long term question mark for the forty fine in their offense.

That is the question in and of itself. There were a lot of questions for the forty nine ers this offseason.

Are we convinced after seeing one game on Monday Night Football Peter that they have now returned to become the team to beat in the NFC?

Yeah, look good.

What the Lions and Buccaneers did was very impressive this weekend. But if you watched Monday Night and come out of that thinking anything other than that is the number one team in the NFC, let's discuss because I don't know what else they could have done. And that was such a performance, and it came with all the questions of will they be rusty, can they perform without McCaffrey, what's you can Trent Williams holdouts? What are those going to look like once we get on the field? Guys did thirty eight minutes of possession. They scored on eight straight offensive drives, their kicker made all six of his field goals, and then this guy every time there was a third down, every single time. I felt like it was a big spot for the Jets to get the forty nine ers off the field. Perdy was magnificent. Perdy, who hasn't talked about his contract perty who isn't holding out? Who is like wearing a eleven dollars button down from Dickey's up to the game, Like this is this, this is what we're looking at. This is the team that we expected to see once we got started with the offseason, before all the drama of all the contracts and stuff. Now, let me take a sobering moment for the Niners.

Fancy it all someone to prepare.

Nobody knows a Robert Sala Jeff ul Rick defense better than Kyle Shanahan, who was Robert Sala's right hand man and boss for many, many years.

And in this game, they.

Had an attack and it was almost like the perfect mesh point of where they were wanting to be in that San Francisco came ready, they had a game plan, and the Jets could not stop it.

I would say that is as good as you're going.

To see a Niners team. They came in they steamrolled a potential AFC contender. But there were a lot of factors that might have worked in forty nine ers favor. On Monday Night, Let's see how they do against the Vikings in a game where McCaffrey's no longer there and now there's a Jordan Mason game, and there's actually some footage for Kevin O'Connell and Brian Flores to watch.

Peter, when I look at the forty nine ers and I look at this offensive line, and I look at the run game and Kyle Shanahan and the history that they have from his family tree from running the ball, they do this so well, So I think this is a perfect opportunity to put Christian McCaffrey in the rest bench and let them rest.

Take a look at this right here.

I mean, you look at Jordan Mason and just his ability to get all those yards, but you ask yourself, why look at how the guards in the tackle are getting up to.

The second level.

Maybe it's so easy for Jordan Mason to be able to get up on the second level and just get some yards.

I love this scheme.

He outschemed the Jets defense every single time. And I'm like, man, Jordan Mason's a great running back, but he took advantage of the opportunity to the alleys that were given to him. So I'm gonna say that they're going to do this, continue to do this. They're the top team in the NFC because of the run game when they go up against the Vikings, I expect to see more of the same, of this same type of scheme, being able to use the zone run, being able to utilize Jordan Mason in his physical run. I'm not saying he's like Isaiah Pacheco, but he sure did have this violent run to him, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as an angry runner for Kyle Nixon.

Oh, a lot of people wanted him for it. It's just he had the body of work.

You just need to have that one piece they resistance to get angry run.

Maybe he will this week.

The fact that they can just sit McCaffrey down nine many minutes for the game and destroy the Jets is incredible. The fact that they can probably rest him for week two because they can. It's because the forty nine ers are wealthy. They can do things. They're wealthy with talent. It's like you have a massive house party and you're saying, I'm sorry the pool isn't available, but we have the movie theater in the tennis courts.

Sure go ahead and use them.

They just have options, and they'll probably roll a week two on offense without McCaffrey. He's the offensive player of the year and they just bench him and set him down and don't even blink listen to the question, like, no, I don't think that the top.

Team in the NFC.

I said at the beginning of the season, I think the Lions are going to win the Super Bowl. I'm not going to change that because of one week. I'm not gonna shave Wow. You beat up the Jets, so you knew, but like the back of your hand, you prepared for six months. Now I'm gonna redo everything.

You guys know this.

I don't change everything after Week one, and I think the Lions looked really, really good.

But listen, the Niners are gonna be one of those teams. They're there.

Short of some sort of terrible injury, which I hope they don't have, They're gonna be there in the division. They're gonna be there in the title game. Someone is gonna have to knock them out. It's almost like some of these teams in the ass. You know the Ravens are gonna be there. You know the Chiefs are gonna be there, the Bills, whoever. I just think it's interesting right now with the Niners and Peter was talking about some of the Brock Party stuff. Is this the last year where they have that kind of wealth in terms of talent, Like, is this the one they.

Really have to cash in?

Because the elephant in the room right now is Rock Party's paying for playing for about ten bucks a game, and that's great, and they have this crazy luxury.

So everybody else is paid. It's just all the big guys. That's why you can be paid. That's why you get Trent into camp.

Let's say Brock Party goes through this year, loses in the playoffs and says, all right, let's go pay up, and they do next year two years now. Then they come to the rest of the club. Then they come to the quarterback. Our quarterback is super expensive, and we can't pay an expensive full back and an expensive linebacker.

That's the real luxury they have. So if you don't cash it in.

This year, if you can't finish this year, then you're playing by everybody else's rules. They have a massive advantage that the fact that they have a super cheap quarterback. So I'm just saying, Niners, Kyle, get there this year, cash it in, or next year you're going to have to come down to the middle class with everybody else.

This is a really important year.

Well, the problem with that middle class, Kyle, is that they're actually bubbling to the surface. They're elevating themselves as the forty nine ers have just remained up top here. And it's interesting that the question says still the top team in the NFC?

Are they still?

Do We put that word in there because they were in the Super Bowl last year because we had prediction Week last week, and it's easy to go back to prediction Week when it's only been one week. But I want to look at what we inspected on the NFC, Wes, because there is another team that we have not talked about yet that you three gentlemen on this show wanted to place ahead of the forty nine ers, just within the division, Peter. So if you, Kyle says he still will, So Peter, let's start to look at the Rams. We had a segment yesterday where we asked the question, what is an OH to one team? Who is an OH one team that you are not concerned about? Peter, I'm going to venture to guess you'd probably are not concerned about the Rams despite losing to the Lions on Sunday.

No there. Look from what I hear, that scene after that game against the Lions was guy hobbling out of the locker room. Guy with the I mean Steve Avila. It might be their best offensive lineman. That guy is going to be out for four to six weeks. Pooka Nakua is now out for four weeks. Things can change week two weeks. So do I get off the Rams saying that they're not gonna It's gonna be significantly harder to do without Nakua and their best offensive lineman.

We'll see.

Look, Stafford played heroically, they came all the way back, they lost, and now they're oh to one.

Well, the Niners look like their cruising. That's I don't want to pick jumping on this show. I'm not pick jumping.

Okay, good, but I also think if you're if they lose their top offensive player, it's.

Week one, it could be back and Puka will be bad.

Sure, but they're coming out of a hole. Like I picked the Packers to represent the NFC in the playoffs if they had lost Jordan Love for the whole season. I'm allowed to come on the show and say I don't think the Packers are going to represent the NFC injury.

Sure, you're still good with the Jets. Nicoua and Avila are major Jets.

Yet, Jets will be fine.

Jets will be fine. Okay, good, I agree too. I don't think. I just I see this all the time. I'm going through my phone and they're just like, this team's out. I had this team going on. It's dad, they lost one game.

If there's a major injury, sure, and I know the rams stuff, but like they're not out for the season. Like we may get them back in November December. They're gonna be a lot of games playing. I'm not doing anything much saying there's.

Things got If there were odds before the season, they're a lot worse now without Nikoua for the next month.

Yeah, well, I mean we see, that's what happened with Jordan Mason. I mean Jordan Mason. You know, Christian McCaffrey is out for week one and Jordan Mason steps in. You know, you look at poo Pooka, Nakula, pooking Nakula is out.

Who's going to step in?

I'm gonna say go ahead and say Whittington, I mean Jordan Whittington is a guy that I've talked about in the preseason. I think it's that next man up mentality, but also to the scheme that Sean mcgahe has. He really knows how to utilize his personnel and put his guys in the best position to make plays.

We saw other guys step in as well.

So I'm going to go and say that you know the Rams will still stay as you know that team that is a force in the NFTC.

Well good because you have any other options, Kyle said, no pick jumping on this show. Kyle, I see there are potentially some props on your set there as that pertains to whiteboard Wednesday and a topic that we may have coming up here and a player from the Bills.

Let's do it. We got all kinds of surprises coming in.

He So yesterday Michael Parsons was on the show and Kyle said, just give us.

A little tour around your place.

You had a bunch of great jerseys hanging up on the wall.

That's another one of the questions. If you were a player in the field.

You finished sixty minutes football jersey swap time, which one do you want to receive?

All kinds of choices. I just heard the question, of course for the first time, but I got a good idea that just occurred to me.

Plus, all right, the Giants. That was a day, that was really a day one hundred year. But Andrew van Ginkel comes in and ruins the party.

Look at the gink.

Oh yeah, is that already the best pick six of the year. One of our very favorite players on the field. Andrew Van Ginkel from your Minnesota Vikings joins us on Good Morning Football, Good Morning.

Football Typer whiteboard Wednesday. The Ravens head coach told reporters yesterday that the Ravens did not bring their running back Derrick Henry to Baltimore to give him thirty touches a game.

No they did not. No, they don't need him for that up far.

Okay, but there must be a player out there, Peter, that you do want to see, maybe not thirty touches, but get more touches than they did in week one.

And now as we turn the page into week two.

All right, so if you didn't see it, the Bear they get a win, yep, and they get the w and we live to fight another day. And Caleb Williams was very mature at his press conference, saying that it wasn't exactly how he intended to go, but we got to w and the fact that we've said now multiple times, Kyle and I both said I think seven times on Monday, me maybe twelve. David Carr was the last first overall pick to win his rookie season Week one, and then Caleb Williams did it.

So we have all that David Cars hitting Billy Miller down the David car hitting Billy Miller.

We love it.

That's great. Beating the Dallas Cowboys in a week one. Yeah, we got it.

Okay, you're on primetime this week. Everyone's watching. Caleb cannot throw for forty two yards and look lost out there. DJ Moore needs to get the ball. He had five catches for thirty something yards and like, I don't know that you play fantasy. Maybe he won your week with him or without?

No, no, this was me number one wide receiver. This is supposed to be the kind of guy like.

Justin Jefferson or one of those dudes that Cooper Coop Like fourteen cotching catches, like we need to get in the ball. So to me, Dj Moore represents everything of Chicago. This was a hard knock season where we went to the Ice Museum with DJ.

Moore and his kid and Mike we fell in love.

And I'd want to be very honest that if Dj Moore doesn't have a big season, it means the Bears offense was a failure this year. So Shane Waldron, Caleb Williams nothing against Dj Moore.

We got to get in the ball.

This is a playmaker and a legit NFL wide receiver.

One.

Let's see the Bears on primetime have a better effort that they did against Tennessee, which not everyone was watching because there's nine other games in the one a clock window.

All right.

For me, I know the Ravens said they didn't bring in Derrick Henry for thirty touches. I'm saying he needs to get his thirty touches for sure. But for me, the guy I want to see get more touches. This man right here, justin Jets, Jefferson, he only had four catches.

Four catches, Like that's that's JJ right.

There, that's triple J right there. I'm looking for him. This is God.

Last year that had ten targets last year in this game, he only had six targets. So I'm reaching out to Kevin O'Connell. I'll send you a text later on Coach O'Connell, can we give Darnold to send him maybe ten eleven, twelve. We can help them fantasy owner out there as well with that. But I mean, this dude is just a difference maker. Of course, they go out and they win this game against the New York Giants. That was an easy win for them, but and I know they put that game away by the third quarter. But let's get Justin Jefferson involved a little bit more.

I'm sure he's all right with it there because he like ends in the touchdown. It's like, all right, one of my catches good for seven.

How about a guy who's who's supposed to be better than Justin Jefferson and Jerry Rice and Taroll Owens and Randy Mossley.

Marvin Harrison Junior.

We've been hearing about this for maybe since he was a little kid, his father's son. And they're not in a game where they're up or their way back. They're in a dog fight with Buffalo on the road. Marvin Harrison had one catch for four yards, but you know the record for the catches in a game is Brandon Marshall at twenty one.

I want him to break that record this week.

And I want twenty two catches for Marvin Harrison, junior.

Top five pick in the draft.

Kyler's there, my Cardinals, my pound puppy, sweetheart, Cardinals who need to go to the playoffs, need to throw through this guy who was everyone said was the best player in the draft, best player ever, best athlete ever, best human ever, throwing the ball right off this bubble screen.

Anything, get the ball in his hands. Let's go.

Here's what Kyle on the sideline be like Marvin Harrison bubble screen.

Let's go twenty one catches for the rookie. Okay, that's pretty lofty.

Yesterday on GMFI overtime, we had all pro linebacker from the Cowboys.

Michael Parsons joined the show.

And as he's talking to us, we all are very impressed with his jersey collection.

Take a look, I.

Mean, how does see bro?

This is like just I would say, for all the jerseys I have, this is really nothing. This is just something that I did my rookie year. This is just all rookie years jersey. So my first year, I just got all the jerseys up. You know, over the past couple of years, I didn't really put no one else up there because anymore space.

All right, So you're a rookie, you're on the field, you end the game, Peter, who's jersey would you like to get your hands on?

And they get a shragger?

I think this would be so cool, And Jamie, I appreciate the thought of even having a shrinker jersey, having ever shoot it up for high school, college or professional football. Fidel, Yes, that's it exactly. I'll tell you the jersey I want right now. No one else has it. I want that twenty four Mason jersey.

Yeah, what a performance he had. And that's a jersey that no one else has.

This is a guy who is an undrafted rookie free agent out of Georgia Tech a couple of years ago, has been being stashed on the sidelines by the Niners. He's played in a couple of games, and obviously last year got a big workload when they needed to late in the season. But to go for one hundred and forty nine yards on twenty eight carries, and this is a jersey that not everyone has. He look at Micah's back of his office where he's got almost framer.

They're all superstars. I mean to see Saquon and.

LT and all these guys those are you want to show that you're deep cut and.

You really love the NFL. Give me Jordan Mason and I think he might be getting better and better.

This might be a jersey that these stars actually are craving and seeking out as the season goes on.

Yeah, I like where you're going with that one, for sure. Twenty four is a great number. I'm gonna go with the jersey that I don't have as well. This guy entered the league long time ago. He's thirty eight years old. He has played seventeen years in the league. He is top ten in career sack since entering the league. I'm going with Kalais Campbell, especially coming off of the game that he had last week, one sack. After all of the distraction off the field, he comes out. He's been the constant in pro I love the number ninety three. I've played the same position, but just to be at that level for seventeen years and play at that level for that long it's amazing.

But also have.

Another beef and another reason why I want that jersey because number ninety three, by the way, is also the jersey I wore when I played for the Miami Dolphins, and when I got cut, I asked him if I could have my jersey, and they told me no. Till this day, I don't have that jersey. I have my Raiders jersey, I have my Chargers jersey, but I don't have the number ninety three jersey. So I'd ask kalayis yo, can I get that ninety three up off you? I'm gonna keep the campbell on there, but maybe.

Ed Bajall underneath.

I mean, come on, Dolphins, I'm still kind of upset about that lightweight.

It sounds like it anyways. I digress. I digress. They won't let you just keep a jersey.

Sure, you gave us your blood sweating here it didn't work out, but you can have the jersey. I mean, come on, that's times have changed back then. Times have not changed here. If I'm gonna wear a jersey and I'm gonna see some friends, right, gonna go. I just wanted to really make an impact. I wanted to elicit an immediate emotional response. I have a jersey that I think is already only is only a few days old, already infamous, and we'll be looked back on years from now. Was Oh my god, give me that Daniel Jones throwback. I want that reddon give me that. Give me that jersey. You could wear that today, you could wear that.

In twenty years from now.

I'm gonna be like, oh my god, remember the hundred anniversary season and that first game and they wore those weird Montreal Canadian Habs jerseys and it was so bad. And hopefully they continue on from here.

But guys, the Giants may turn things around and win games. That jersey is infamous.

That jersey has a stink on it that I don't know if ever is coming off. That is a perfect, like inside joke jersey to wear. I actually on ironically want that jersey, and I'm not doing it for the segment.

I really would like to wear one. Imaginally. I came in here in a couple of days I had that jersey. Wouldn't you be like, oh, here's the question.

Oh no, I need to know and I don't know this officially, I should know this are the Giants is a one?

And Donna were they.

Only wearing it for the one hundred year or like, are.

We gonna see they're gonna have the goal to roll it back.

I would think if there was a plan to bring it back, maybe you can adjust that jersey did not work. The Notre Dame has this thing where they break out the green jerseys and they almost never win in them. It never works, and Irish fans are like, enough with the green jersey.

Stop it.

I don't.

I wouldn't bring those back, but I want that jersey. I'm rooting for Jones and the Giants. If they don't they do, I want that jersey.

I actually don't think does whose last name it would be on it? That would be a not new jersey in and of itself. Like if you two saw that jersey walking around New York, he'd be like.

Remember that game, but that was the one that was the one, all right?

So, friend of the Show, Friend of Akbar's Bills wide receiver Mac Hollins is an eccentric personality and he's he's got interesting ways that he goes.

About living his life. Well.

He's celebrated the Bill's Week one win with an unusual combination.

When you win, the Eminem's go in, come on now, take the dove.

You can get them bloat chocolate water. Never heard anybody dubs.

It doesn't make any sense. It's not a W, it's an M and M.

And if you were going to just make chocolate water, there's chocolate syrup for that.

Mac Collins, what are we doing here?

That is one of the most bizarre food combinations one could come up with. But Peter barn Kyle, I challenge you to come up with something that is even more bizarre.

Please.

Yeah, there's something that I that I do that often will make those I dining with gag and be disgusted. Well, the first thing is, no matter what I need, I need a bottle of hot sauce, no matter what. It could be Frank's Red Hot, it could be Tabasco, it could be true. I'm not I'm not one of these like seaun Evans, like I only have my hot sauce that I get from this this little place, and.

People travel with people travel with you. No, I am.

I am agnostic with my hot sauce.

I'll eat all hot sauce, but.

I'll order a salad. Yeah, this body has once ordered a salad before, and I'll say I'll have a salad, and I will have no problem putting salad dressing on you name your garden variety, ranch, charity. But then I'll throw some hot sauce on salad and that bugs people out.

Your standard salad protein, no protein.

I'll just douse a half a bottle of hot sauce on it, hot lettuce.

Hot.

It's just like I need hot sauce with everything, So hot sauce on a salad. I did it in like a fairly nice restaurant. I asked for like hot sauce and they were like, eh, okay, and they brought out like a little thing.

In tabasco, like please don't use this.

It just dumped it on a salad and everyone's like okay, and then we can't dine with you.

Peter, I envisioning for the hot sauce. Your salad comes, you wait to eat it because you're waiting where they're like stir, is there something wrong with your salad? And you're like, I'm waiting for my hot sauce. Question, Peter, question, do you ever have you eard done this? Take the bite of salad and do you like sing individually sauce the bite or do you go like over the over the top, the way someone would like salt a bite of something.

Have you ever done that?

I love the question. I love the question. You are obviously a foodie, Jamy.

You know that that is a way to die. I just honestly, I will take the bottle and I would dump the bottle on an open, beautiful bowl of greens, and that is it. And I'll just just it's disgusting.

Here hot sauce on a salad. Don't try it. Okay, yeah, I was gonna try it. But thank you so much for that. I appreciate it, all right.

So I don't have a weird food combination that I'm gonna go with here. But I did call mccollins yesterday. I was like, bro, what are you doing? Like what is this? And so he gave a little explanation. So I'm here to explain for the people. So a dub also means a win, but a dub also means twenty. So he puts twenty of those chocolate Eminem's inside of there, so you get a dub.

But I call it.

Diabetes in a bottle.

That's what I call that.

But he calls it the macy Wonka Chocolate River that's what he calls it. And I'm like, bro, what does that even have to do with your w man like enjoyed celery pops some bottles or something. I don't know, but I love you, Macca, but I have no idea why you're drinking diabetes at a bottle.

You couldn't come up with a single crazy food combination.

No, okay, yeah, I don't have one. Go I like goat meat. A lot of people don't eat goat meat, but I like got meat, goat.

Met Yeah, it's got. I absolutely love it. I listen.

I live really close to Connecticut that is renowned for its pizza scene, and it's just super famous and that people say it's the best pizza in the world. I once went on on a date with my wife and we went to this pizza place and my answer is, stupid hot peppers on pizza. On this date, they put these peppers on. It's like it's almost like a dare. It's like something that Johnny Knoxville would eat, and I eat it if hot stuff. It was so hot that it like ruined our night.

I had to go home, like.

We were supposed to go out after ice cram I guys you have to go home.

The next time we went there, I'm like, give.

You it again.

Yeah, god, I can do it again.

And then then second time was also horrific. But I just want to do this right now.

Why not. We're here at the wet sorr. There we go bang bang now listen.

I also want to point out for Matt Collins. Matt Collins scored a touchdown in that game. He plays a real role for the Buffalo Bills. It's not just all about being barefoot and having M and M. So you go out and really play and you're not some just funny mascot for social media. You can drink whatever the hell you want. So I got him in here. I'll even do one more and then I'm gonna I'm even gonna do this like it's some more like one of those you know you gonna shake it up.

You don't want to get any jeffs No, no, never, Peter.

You take care of all those now once I've shaken it up. It's just a disgusting hue that looks like, I say, just thunder jugged it on a road trip, jugged it.

And here we go.

Ready, it just tastes like water. There's barely any hint of chocolate whatsoever.

MACOSSI will be bad back.

I will say that on this show Feaking of Buffalo, there was the thing that promotion that came out about a year ago where Josh Allen was putting buffalo sauce in his soft drink Yes, and we were like, that's disgusting, that's disgusting. Peter and I tried it and it was just like pretty spicy, spicy.

I say, pepsi, pepsi. We did it buffalo sauce.

And the second after the segment happened, I got a text.

From Josh Allen. He's like, see, it's not that bad. Everyone's giving me so much crap for that. So mac everyone's giving you credit. I don't know why you do this.

If you want chocolate water to James, but just have chocolate milk. But this just tastes like water that has eminem's in the bottom, like little boba tea things.

And that's it tolerance.

So he didn't want to do the chocolate syrup in the water.

The boba t's you put the straw and they get stuck in your straw.

It's all very frustrating. That color of that water.

Gross.

Look, it's changing colors as the segment moves on.

You might want to come, what are the aga.

The chocolate river there? It is under job.

I don't even want to say that. Seriously.

We were hoping for Week two Steelers traveling to the Broncos for obvious reasons.

Are we going to get what we were hoping for?

Well, it depends on which quarterback you're rooting for to be at the starter there Jamie Steelers, said coach Mike Tomlin, saying Tuesday, Russell Wilson is feeling better as he is dealing with that lingering calf injury. But Justin Fields, who started Week one, is in line to take first team reps in practice again this week, Tomlin saying he will be QB one against the Broncos on Sunday.

Listen, preparing is if Justin is going to be our quarterback. I think that's the appropriate way to do it. Speculation is a waste of time. Russell's heard he's not available to us, and so, as you guys know, as a general practice man, I focus by energy on those that are available in their readiness. Just saw Justin he just finished a good workout here today and excited about maybe going through a complete week with him in terms of the preparation process.

I appreciate you, coach being right to the point. Well.

Also on Tuesday, the Chargers welcoming their new Chargers Pop Storm.

Her instagram is adorable to check it out. The NFL Fan of the Year contest presented by Captain Morgan, who turns to honor the extraordinary fan who spices up football.

With their fandom.

NFL dot Com slash Fan of the Year to nominate someone today.

Well coming up next.

Year, Vikings linebacker and friend of the show Andrew Van Ginkle. He's going to be here with GMFB. Also hashtag on Wisconsin. I see Van Ginkle, Good morning football.

I have to say, the fastest developing pick six.

From Week one of the twenty twenty four NFL.

Season, probably the fastest guy to earn a game ball with his new team. He's a friend of our show. We're absolutely thrilled to have Andrew vank Ginkle back on Jim and Me.

What's up time?

No, how's it going, guys? Thanks for having me on.

We love to see you, Andrew.

We've had john when we were when you were with Miami, but now you're with the Vikings.

And I got to say, did you even have.

Your eyes open when Daniel Jones threw that ball? Or were you just look good to bat and all of a sudden you had it and you took it in for six.

It was something that I anticipated, and you know, obviously I made a similar play last year, so you know, I just tried to replicate that. And you know, honestly, I thought I thought I was going to drop it at first, but I was able to cral it and kind of collected to my hip and yeah, then score.

When you watch a play like that back, are.

You surprised that he knew you were coming off the edge, knowing that you had made similar plays like that.

It's almost like, don't test me, Daniel Jones, I could do something like this.

When you watch it back, are are you just amazed that the events unfold that way?

Yeah?

You know, obviously this is a common play and something that I anticipated. And you know, I'm not really sure what his thought process is or you know, how their coach to throw that past. But for me, you know, I saw empty and just anticipated the throw being done out there. And if you go back and look at it, I wasn't the only one that was reacting to it, you know. Ip in the middle there was getting out and great guys on the edge ready to set the point and get a tackle for loss as well.

Andrew, Man, you're being real humble bro, because I'm telling you, man, that's green play right there. I know you guys probably saw that pop up on film. But to go out there and in accept a screen like that, that's really hard to do because that ball is coming out really really fast.

You're at the point of attack right there. It's happening right there.

It's not like one of those ones that's floating up in the air for a very long time. But I have to ask how comfortable is it having Brian Flores, who obviously you were with in Miami. That has to make you comfortable in this defense to where you can make plays like that. This is your third NFL touchdown, bro.

Yeah, No, it starts with, you know, the trust of Brian Flores and the coaches we have here. Obviously they respect me, and you know that's why I'm here. I'm excited to be a part of this defense. And it allows you to play fast, be physical and obviously when you allow your instincts to take over and change the game. You know he is pushing for that, and I'm excited to be a part.

Of it now. Is it true? Though?

There are rumors going around after that interception that you've been calling for head and shoulders commercial with your long hair.

Is that true?

Is that what they're looking for?

No, that's not true. But you know, if it does arise, and you know somebody wants to make a deal, you know, I'm always happy to it and it's entertaining.

Okay, all right, I wish I had hair like that.

Doubt soon?

Yeah?

I love that.

Beg. Greg.

We've been having you on the show for years. You know our affection for you as a player. You're such a playmaker for Brian Flores in Miami and then of course the last few years with the Dolphins since Low left. Your head coach Kevin O'Connell said that he.

Got a sideline warning.

Because everybody ran down after that pick six to celebrate, including himself. This is what your coach had to say about the team celebration after your big play.

The official after Gink's touchdown, he came running over. Didn't know what he was going to tell me, and he said, hey, just the heads up. Your most of your defensive staff was just in the end zone. And so I got on the headset and said, I'm not mad. I'm just I'm just disappointed, you know, But no I was. I actually told them to file it under the category of ignore what I'm about to say, because I'm right. I was right alongside with them.

That's tremendous.

I got to be honest, like, it's got to be your first game as a Viking, and then you look up and not only the players, with the defensive coaching staff its celebrating so excited for you. What was it like for you to see the entire team galvanized around that moment.

No, I love it, you know, honestly, it's about the joy and excitement. We got a lot of guys here that love football, want to win, and they want to they want to see people be successful. And when you have guys like that, you know, you're willing to go out there and play hard, compete for one another. And then when other people make plays, you're just happy. You're proud of them. You see all the work they put in, and that's just the joy and the fruits of your labor come to work.

And we were at an interview that one of your teammates said yesterday, Jonathan Grenard, one of your fellow linebackers, and he had said, when you guys were really taking it to the Giants, that the booze were coming down so loud from the Giants fans, and you were really taking away everything that Daniel Jones was trying to do. That he actually started to feel bad for Daniel Jones.

You were right there in the middle of it. How did you.

Feel, Uh, Yeah, you know, obviously, I'm gonna let JG kind of speak how he wants to. Yeah, obviously, you know, we came out and put a good defensive performance together, and you know, we played hard. You know, took a lot of a lot of things away from them, And obviously that's just compliment to Flow in his defense and his schematics. We can do a lot of things, and we put a lot of pressure and stress on the offensive coordinators, to the quarterbacks, to the old line, and you know, just seeing all that hard work coming coming in and paying off is awesome.

All right, tough question here. You've played with both of them.

You gotta win a big game, you gotta go the distance for a game winning touchdown. Is your wide receiver justin Jefferson or Tyreek Hill?

Oh? Can we go?

Man?

You know, they're both elite players, obviously game changing players, and you know, obviously, you know, being up here in Minnesota, you know you can't you can't go against Jefferson and just kind of what he's able to do. Obviously, the catches that he makes are unbelievable. He's always getting doubled and he still produces at a high level. So you know, but they're both just great players.

Last one, Andrew grew up in Iowa, you played it Wisconsin. Now you're playing for the Minnesota Vikings. You have your home opener this weekend. How many people do you have coming to this game?

Let's go?

Oh man, Yeah, you know, the number keeps rising by the day. But it's exciting, you know, obviously being close to home. And and then next week, you know, when we play the Texans, one of my local banks in town bought like this big suite and this big package, so you know for that game, they'll probably be over a couple hundred people there for that.

So it's just exciting.

Got a lot of fans, got a lot of people in my corner, and guys that are excited for me, proud of me, and just want me to be successful. And you know, I'm thankful for them. Obviously we went through a tough time with the flood and everything this summer, so just being able to get back to them and see them come out and be happy and joyful.

Well, I'm sure Vikings fans are happy and joyful to have you within their defense. The community support, I know is so important to you and we always love having you on. Andrew vank Inkle, everybody, stay healthy, stay well.

We'll have you back on GMP again.

All right, all right, thank you guys.

Yep, it's time for a week up call presented by Verizon. The Buccaneers pulled a prank on Baker Mayfield. That is not Mayfield from the Browns, the Panthers of the Rams.

That is Baker Mayfield.

From Lake Travis High School when he was a cavalier in Austin, Texas.

Kyle, I'm way into it. Imagine this.

So the guys are just sitting there, sign sign sign saying the same thing, and then we come up with like a skinny little seventeen year old Baker Mayfield looks incredible, Peter, you.

Want to sign that thing for him.

I love this version of Baker.

I love the current version of Baker.

We got it all Baker, what a story. I love this.

And how funny is that picture like Travis where he was a superstar in high school.

Yeah, this is really cool for a team chemistry right here. Everybody gets a good laugh out of it. And I love how you know Baker Mayfiel's a good sport about it as well. He just kind of taking his shrines. It's pretty funny though.

I see correctly he's he's holding onto the pull up bar, I believe, which is parallel to the senior picture that most girls take in high school when you're standing on the railroad tracks and you're looking off into the distance and you prepare to graduate high school. So Baker with the flex from the high school gym, he said Max.

Prest, he's got the biceps up. I would have liked it, like through the chain link fence. I like that one that's super gritty like that. But I think he appears to be like in a squad rack.

Like in the gym. That's awesome.

He's sending the photographer from Max pressmade doing I think he thought it was cool.

Baker doesn't want
