Welcome inside Good Morning Football presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerkey. We love the trap We love you watching us here live in Los Angeles. I'm Jimmy Heart All. This is a bar buzz Via Miller, Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt. It's Prediction Week. Repeter, what is the day to day?
Prediction Week is very serious here on this show.
Yesterday we did Offensive Rookie the Year, Defensive Rookie the Year, and Coach of the Year. Today, we're going to tell you our fourteen playoff teams. Not everyone can make it. Every other show on televisions like this could be the team and you really like Kyler. Are you gonna put your name on it? Are you gonna put the Cardinals in the playoffs? Are you gonna put the Broncos in the playoffs? We have to make our decisions to put our names on it. That is today very stressful. The last twenty four hours. Who's in, Who's out?
You'll see it all too no no my take.
At the end of the week, of course, we're going to say our Super Bowl winners and all that.
I actually think this is the best day of prediction weeks.
It's kind of like, you know, like the divisional round of the playoffs is actually kind of better than the super Bowl. There's just more action, there's more teams playing. We're gonn announce our super Bowl picks. We're gonna say one team great, good for them today, fourteen teams from all of us.
We're importantly eighteen teams will not make a list.
They will not, and you can't go on a show and like, I like every team everyone is great. Everyone's every No, not only that many make the playoffs.
We do these training camp tours on all the networks, including Hours, and you come out of this and you're like, they look amazing. How amazing are they? Are you putting them over the forty nine ers? Are you putting them over the chief?
That's the problem that I was having. This is very hard because you know, it can be very emotional in that.
I really like this team, no doubt.
Our horse is you to make a decision And I'm like, well, I don't want to make a decision. I want to be an emotional fan. I want to be able to swing this way that way.
Today you have to pick for it. No, and today I don't get to do all of that story.
I was down to last few teams last night, eliminating lemonade, and my husband goes, let's just think about your career. At this point, I'm like, if this is what we're pulling into and we're going to get feedback from people, and that's what we care about, we have a different issue. Okay, this is how deep it was going in my house. I was soliciting everybody's advice.
I got mine right here. I can set no lead off. I got them right here. My team's excited.
You know what I liked is that they brought you your teams. And then she said do you want gin R one of our producers. She said do you want the other ones?
Just in case?
And Kyle goes, yeah, I want them all, as if you're going to change your mind.
Mid seven, little puppies at the pound don't get to come home. I love it.
I hope someone else adopts you, but these are my puppies.
You know.
Last week we had Tom Pella Sarawan. He is our insider assigned to us today and I sat at the table with Tom during a commercial and picked his brain. Tom, I just got to tell you were off no help to me. You were way too logical. You did not help any of my emotional state when it came to picking my pound puppy team. So no, thank you.
This is the beauty of it, Jamie, is that you can make a case for everybody. Everybody zero and zero will finally get to see him on the field, but you have to file your predictions prior to that, so that also no help to you. We are two days away from the kickoff of the NFL season, which also means we got the first official injury report of the season on Monday. Both the Ravens and the Chiefs look pretty healthy going into Week one for Kansas City. The only player who didn't practice was wide receiver Hollywood Brown. He is not expected to play Thursday night as he continues to recover from that sc joint injury that he suffered back in training camp. That means a heavy dose of some of the other Chiefs wide receivers, including their rookie first round draft pick zaf You're Worthy. This week, several other Chiefs, including defensive tackle Chris Jones, listed as full participants. Jones, you might remember had a little bit of a shoulder issue early in camp. Some believe maybe he was just milking that to get a couple of days. He's listed, but not believed to be a concern. He should be full go for the opener. As for the Ravens, they have no starters on the injury report headed into week one here. That is especially notable because their star tight end Mark Andrews had missed a substantial chunk of training camp after being involved in a car accident in mid August. John Harbaughs said that Andrews had been dealing with something minor.
Well, whatever it is, they don't have to.
They would have had to disclose it, but they are not, which means he's not getting treatment for anything. Andrews also full go for this opener.
Full steam ahead for the Ravens. We appreciate a limited injury report from the teams that are kicking off the twenty twenty four season. Tom, thank you so much. The countdowns on only two more days until the Chiefs dropped their Super Bowl banner, they unveil their rings, and they kick off the NFL season against the Ravens. It's a feeling that Patrick Holmes does not take for granted.
You start appreciating playing these games. If you're gonna win another Super Bowl, I mean, that's your hope. You don't know if you're gonna be that opening night game. And so I remember my first year, I didn't play, but we go to the Patriots and play in that game, and I remember how specially that moment was for me, and even though I didn't step on the football field. And so I just try to appreciate these moments because you never know if there's gonna be your last one. But the hope is it isn't.
Strange to hear Mahomes reference a game in which he did not step on the football field. There was a time where that happened. It is no longer the Chiefs offense. When you looked at how they started last year, because they hosted the same game last year against the Lions, they struggled to start the year. They lost the kickoff game against the Lions after dropping their banner, and the following week, frankly, the numbers did not improve. None of that really matters though in terms of struggles, because they're hosting the game again which they won the Super Bowl. So Chiefs offense let's focus in on it, Peter. How does it avoid a slow start? How do you jump out of the gates differently than they did last year.
It's been a really cool offseason for the Chiefs. There was obviously celebrations, and there were ring ceremonies, and there were opportunities to do things outside a lot of football for a lot.
Of these players.
And yet I go to July thirteenth at a high school football field in Vineland, New Jersey. There's an amazing article that I've read over the summer, and in this high school football field, a player named Isaiah Pacheco was working out. However, the lights were not working because it was late. So Isaiah Pacheco and his trainer, his old teammate, Everett Wormly, went back to Pacheco's house and at midnight Pacheco turned on the street lights and put on all the lights in his house, of his New Jersey home. And these guys worked out from midnight to two am. They were not at the club, they were not partying, they were not in can they were not in a bitha.
They were there working.
And from everything I hear, Isaiah Pacheco has put the work in so to me, we could talk about all the new bells and whistles on the outside. We will, because they're all there. This guy, I think, is ready to have one of those seasons where we talk about him in the same conversation as Christian McCaffrey, as Jonathan Taylor, as Saquon.
As Breis Hall. I don't know where he is on all these fantasy drafts.
Quite frankly, I don't pitch it into fantasy rankings because I look at team stuff, and I also look at how these guys performed during the season, this August projection, all that. For some reason, Pacheco isn't in that same conversation. Let me explain he's going into that big contract year. He has put in all the work. Wormley was a guy who he played with at Rutgers. He's now a trainer, trains a lot of these guys. What they did this summer was really cool. They worked out.
Obviously he's healthy.
They also said let's get you wide receiver reps to make you that player where they don't have an option to say, well, you only do this and your weakness is that he worked out as a wide receiver this summer. We're starting off a Tuesday morning show. I'm talking about probably the fifteenth best player in your head on the Kansas City Each we.
Want's hear more about Everet Wormley.
Everett Wormley was a wide receiver at Rutgers.
Now he's a trainer Pacheco.
And that is why when you start the season and maybe the rhythm's not there with Worthy, or the rhythm's not there with maybe Hollywood.
When he gets on the field, throw out to ten. Throw it to ten.
Le's go throw it to Pop Pachaco. So my big take, you know, how do you get things going? Don't be surprised if we see like Pachaco get twenty five touches on Thursday, Don't be surprised.
If Pacheco is the name we're talking about.
He is the only player in NFL history to start a Super Bowl in his first two NFL careers and win those Super Bowls. Only player Wow. And I think his best is yet to come. So I'm gonna go Isaiah Pachaco to kick off this morning show right where, big commercial for Pop Pachaco.
Awesome.
And I think if you still got your fantasy draft, if I didn't do it big enough, take them.
Take them takes like Isaiah Pacheco, love the way he runs. I'm a believer in the Kansas City Chiefs. I believe that they're going to start off really fast in this game. I think last year, when you think you look back to that game against the Detroit Lions, they started off slow. They didn't have Travis Kelce in that game, so of course that's a big piece for that offense. You think back to that game, you know Patrick Mahome throwing that pick six in that game, it was just ay. But I only think a lot of people expected the Detroit Lions defense to be that good coming in into the season, and so I think there were some adjustments that game. They only scored twenty points. This was not a high powered offense that we were expecting out of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Now, moving it forward.
I do believe what I saw in the preseason was fun and there's a lightness and a fun a vibe that I was getting out of the Chiefs. You know, usually the standard for every team is go in Vanilla, just do everything. Base will work on our base, will master the base. But what this tells me is that they're not hungover on the super Bowl win where the Super Bowl winners there's a lightness. And when you have that lightness, that means you have confidence, and we have confidence, that means you're going to start fast. So I do believe that they will start fast this season.
Can I ask you a question, do you kind of wish they saved that maybe for Thursday night or they kind of showed it too soon, like we are, okay, we've.
Got to behind the back back in a preseason game.
Do you wish it was the regular season kickoff with actually everyone watching live.
No.
I actually like it in the preseason and because I think it just broke everybody from being like we had this big thing that we gotta save, and now once you got it out there, it's like like like the real beast is try to stop it again.
You know That's what they're totally yo.
Like they were taking shots to Xavier in the preseason like I'm like, no, no, save it. Don't let anybody know how fast it is. They were just like here, oh you missed it, Come and get you missed it.
Come on, come on here, here you go. I was like, I think they're saving the under between.
The legs for the regulars.
They had Jr.
Whites went on I had I had a wild day here. Yes I'm saying in a hotel here in Los Angeles, and I just basically spent the whole afternoon in the room.
And once I got tired.
Of the first little view and the the units and everything was great, I turned on NFL network. You know what I did yesterday. I'm not joking. I watched the entire Super Bowl. It was on yesterday afternoon. Chief's Niners watched the entire thing. So many takeaways. First of all, God, the Niners had them. They absolutely blew it. They had a blocked extra point, a fumbled punt, McCaffrey fumbled. They had them, and they just couldn't beat them. But that this biggest thing that jumped out to me and watching the Chiefs team is like, I'll say it again, by their standards, that was not a great Chiefs team. They scored nineteen points in regulation, they just they weren't by their standards great, and they.
Still won the Super Bowl.
But what really jumped out is there's not a ton of juice. It's a lot of short and intermediate stuff. Mahomes at one point in Super Bowl hits a long one to Hardman. He makes a great catch on it, but that was really all they had down the field. Kelsey did his thing and it's short here and short here.
It hit Harvin Patchiko fumbles the very next play.
I know, and it didn't even capping bad.
It was on the far side, so they didn't get to score on it. There wasn't a lot of that lightning strike electricity that got us to fall in love with Mahomes.
But that brings me to another thing.
I had this collection of like youtubes that a couple times a year I will just revisit, like those are my my guns, I bookmark, like I love those five or six videos. One of them that I always watch is when Steve Jobs went on stage and introduced the first iPhone. I'm a Microsoft guy, of course, but when he got up there and that black turtleneck or whatever, and he puts it up there and the second he like reaches in and like pinches the photo fainting like they're to Michael Jackson. They were so blown away. So I feel like I feel like Andy Reid this year has a little bit of Steve Jobs in him, Like he went to the Chief's Corporate conference and everyone's like, Okay, you got him a lot of great things.
You know, what do you have this year? And he came up.
There and his giant black turtleneck and his sneakers and everybody clapped, and he's like, this year, this year, we're gonna do ourselves.
I'm into the Xavier Worthy thing.
I know everyone wants to say it's preseason, this preseason that I disagree. I think he has a don't talk, don't talk on with me with your John Ross takes. I don't want to hear about Stanford Route or any of these other fast guys in history. None of those guys were thrown in with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. I know he's not gonna be Jerry Rice in season one, but I think he's gonna be a factor. I think's gonna be a factor in Week one. I think they got stuff for him. I think they're gonna have to get his hands on the ball. He's not gonna have seventy catches this year, but I think he's got big, big splash plays, and I think that's what they were missing in the Super Bowl that they barely barely won. I like the Xavier Worthy Smartphone edition from Andy in.
The building at Lucas Oil practically fainted when Xavier Worthy ran as forty at the scouting combine, and then the rest of the league should have fainted when the Chiefs drafted him. I mean, that's just not fair.
Especially how they draft and they have a pick from the Bills wild I think he's gonna make a play.
Things to make a play.
Week one, we are back and here we go. The twenty twenty four season kicks off in two days.
My friends, this is prediction Week. We're square in the middle of it.
Yesterday here on Good Morning Football, we did some fun things. We talked about Coach of the Year and Rookies of the Year, and those are nice little uh brushetta nice little chicken wing. Start the meal, get the appetite going. Now, let's get into the stake. But we're gonna do each of us today, all four of us. We are going to deliver our predictions for all of the division winners this year and all of the wild cards. In other words, we're gonna give you all fourteen playoff teams for the twenty twenty four season, starting with me. I'm going to go first, and then everyone's going to have a turn. So here's the deal. I have my AFC, my NFC, and then there's the discard pile. That is a bunch of teams, eighteen teams that I do not think will make the playoffs this year.
You know what it is.
There's teams that you actively like, there's teams you actively dislike, and then there's those teams you're like, I like you, I'm fond of you. I don't have a spot for I don't have a spot. So here's the discard pile. And you know, spoiler alert, guys, I don't have a spot for the Patriots.
So you're saying what I'm saying.
I don't have the Patriots this year in the playoffs, and there's a whole bunch of their friends.
Some of those teams are really good. I don't have the spot. So, without further ado, I'm going to start with the American Football Cap ANFC. First, you know what, Peter home of the Super Bowl champs.
So I'm going to go there and I'm going to start giving you. What I'm gonna do is gonna give you my four division winners, and then I can give you my three wild cards. Here we go in the AFC East Division. The AFC East Print, another T shirt, print, another T shirt.
The Buffalo Bills A mitch much.
Doubts, much suspicion, Jennison talent will win one more.
What will they do with it in January?
That's for a few days later this week, my friends, the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East all right, in the AFC South Division. I said it, I've said it all season, the expression of the old days of the WNBA.
We got next.
This team has next, and I think they got bigger plans than just the South.
Oh, Houston is for real.
This was not a one and done fugesi fools gold Houston in the South Okay, the AFC West Division.
Oh, I want to see this one.
I got that look in my I don't know, I don't I got the Chiefs.
I got the Chiefs.
I just spent the whole opening of the show about their new toys. And then they're in the middle of the dynasty. We'll see if they take care of business. But the division the starters for them, all right in the AFC North Division.
How you feel this is competitive? This is your division, man.
I don't try to just make content, guys. I know, I know Ball, I know Baull Baltimore again.
Okay, now are they the AFC's Dallas Cowboys In January?
We'll find out. I think they won the division. But now we get to the juice. The wild card teams in the American Football Conference. Okay, I only have three. There's a lot of teams in the a FC that I have not named yet.
This team's gone, This team's gone. This is year three of Mike McDaniel. Loaded ready.
Hopefully I don't play another game at Kansas City in the playoffs, but probably will. Here we go, this is what I'm really excited about. AFC Wildcard will be one this year by you know it, you know it righty year, with a big old lightning bolt, with.
A new coach with a new justin her. They don't have any wide receivers.
I don't care.
They have a new head coach. The name is Jim Harby. He'll get to the playoffs and my.
Final Before you go, should we list some of the teams that you have not mentioned yet?
Yeah? Sure, okay, what comes to mind? You know you haven't mentioned. I don't want to spoil who you picked.
I haven't mentioned the Steelers the Bengals, the the jack Bars, no Colts.
I haven't mentioned Bengal.
You might have met the Browns my final AFC playoff spot via the wild card. Certain things you just believe in. Certain things you just dedicate your life to. And my life from here on will be dedicated to this team going to the playoffs. I'm going with a Pittsburgh Steelers and wow.
What the quarterback? Quarterback?
I'm screaming the same things, but I will never not be screaming this team's name when it comes to playoff pick time.
Steelers, You've always said you trust a logo. You implicitly you're putting them in over Aaron Rodgers. You're putting them in over Joe Burrow. You're putting them in over some really really hot that everyone's on.
Trevor Lawrence just got a major con.
Do you pick the Steelers at a pride because you always pick the Steelers.
Or do you believe in this Steelers team? It's a Steelers organizational thing.
It's it's I don't care who their quarterback is. If the AT logo is there and that coach is there, I will put them in the playoffs.
They will find a way. I just as what I do, and I have one in the NFC too, all right, Cational Football Conference.
Let's start with the East, the so called glamour division, the one the TV networks love. Will they love nothing more than this? Here we go, guys. You think I'm a hater, I'm a doubterer. Why do you have the compeence? I don't, I really don't. I think they're going to win the division this year? Will they have company from the division and the playoffs? Will find out shortly? The NFC Let me make sure this is right?
Yeah?
NFC South, this one's saucy. I'm into this one. The winner at the NFC South right here the yeah right, Morris is the coach of the year. I think the Falcons down there in the South will win it.
I love them in that division.
NFC North, this one's near and dear to me. I was born and raisedd I was born rais NFC Central. But the North still too good, still too young, still too talented. The Lions win the NFC North again, Will they have company in the playoffs?
NFC West.
A lot of good teams out there, a lot of up and coming teams. There's another team in the NFC that I will never not pick again for the rest of my life.
And this time I picked them for the division chances.
Rams, not the Niners, not anyone else. The Rams are neighbors, their houses right there. The Rams win the West, and so here we go. Those are your four division winners. I have three NFC wildcards. The first team I believe will be in the NFC Wildcard. I can't keep them out. The Niners. The Niners.
Can they get back?
They have to go through the Rams in the playoffs? Can they finish business? Shanahan, I'm kind of rooting for you, but I don't think you're going to have the number one seed this year for sure. And here's my baby, here's my sweet, sweet sweet baby. I want you to get make sure we're nice and focus in ten ADP because nobody else, likely on this show and certainly no other show is going to put this one up.
WHOA. Believe in yourself, kidding for you, believe.
In your convictions, be unafraid, be committed, get in there and pick the team that you love, and don't apologize for squat big year.
From this team.
Kyler is back. He's going to become a star. I don't care how small he is, I care how big his arm is. The Arizona Cardinals are going to grab one of these wildcards in the NFC, and that means there's several teams who won't be able to grab because I only.
Have one left.
Trying to think about who I haven't picked yet, I'm not even sure. Listen, Yeah, Packers, Packers have not been shows, Bears, there's Eagles, Packers, Bears, Eagles, Buccaneers are going every years have not been chosen, and Seattle's not been chosen.
But I'm not so concerned about who I haven't Showsen. After you get through this, you feel more and more confident.
Liberate or Moxiem or Footspot and the final wildcard in the NFC.
Bear No, yeah, yo, bewn bear down. That's it. That's my list. Bears over Packers, Bear's Overpackers.
It's a new nail, Peter, we're not talking about it.
The eighties, the nineties to twenty twenty tens, Bears Overpackers.
It's real it, Worow, those are my snow Eagles.
You really you really.
Committed to the Cardinals when you say that that was your team, that's my team, Like you weren't going to pull away from that. I've had the Cardinals since before the draft. I liked last year's Cardinals, and they won four games.
I don't care. They had four quality wins.
They had character, they had hearts, they got the most talented player in the entire draft, and Kyler Murray is going to be a thing this year. Cardinal talking Cardinals to start the show. Those are my teams. You want to know what's one? I apologize for, single one, double down.
Those are my picks, not yours. We'll get into the rest of these guys later. All right, I got my picks.
I like, do you pay pay homage to your roots and in the same breath you're shuffling through your playoffs?
It's not easy to do it.
Now the Raiders in like, that's the question.
All right? All right?
You started with the AFC. Yeah, I was told to. Were you told I'm going to do what they say?
No? No, no, I'm going to start with the NFC. Just fine, you started with the fine? All right.
I just got these so I haven't had a chance to review them.
Before you prevail them. Yeah, first year doing this. Just talk to the audience at home as You've been on NFL network for years. You've also been on television for years. It's different level of stress, and it's with your name on Playoff Taves.
It is because you can always the beauty of you know, doing you know, analysts work is today you can say this. Tomorrow you can say that and you go, you know what, nobody will ever remember it.
But when you start holding.
This you have to actually go through the process. I'm like, man, and like, you can't escape this. This is going to follow me. And then they build graphics afterwards and they put your face in it and I'm sitting there like, like last night, I couldn't go to sleep.
I was just like what do I do? So all right here? Well through it. There's divisions or wild cards whatever.
NFC East and the first one is the NFC East. I really like this team and I've been going hard on this team. You heard it, toush push. Now they got them with the Slovaka eCos in the NFS does this even whatever?
Okay?
Now the NFC North, you guys know that the NFC North is they got some dogs up in there.
They go there's some things going on in there in the North. Only one team is going to walk out of that raw.
Alright, city, the Detroit Lions will win, but Vosa tramp at the No.
No, this is Simba, doesn't it? Right over?
Don't be lying, kingy me sor right here we go, all right, here we go. The NFC South. Uh, this team has I mean they've committed to the defense. They had some August picks that really really look good with Simmons and Judan Boom. All right, the Atlanta Falcons NFC South.
All right, I'm still getting these all right? Yes, the West, Yeah, throw it up for the West.
I will you know what you probably already know because of the color I'm wearing. I'm going with the law is Rams winning the NFC West. I know they got the forty nine ers in there, and they got the Cardinals.
Sorry your Cardinals didn't Cardinals? All right? Three? While all right here we go.
We got the wildcard teams here all right, this is where.
The fun begins.
You know how to deliver this?
Man.
I love this wildcard team none other than Jeez hands Babepacker.
I think Jordan love. Now.
Look, I know it's a very young team, but I really truly believe this team is going to be able to make it into the playoff, and I think they're going.
To go far. Okay, all right, here we go, second wildcard to.
The second wildcard. I haven't even looked at it, so I don't know which one is what orders in all right, I'm going.
Back to the West.
Okay, San Francisco forty nine ers for all the reasons that we already know.
So I've got the San Francisco right.
Before you reveal you have not done Cowboys.
We have not done Bears.
We have not done Seahawkcaneers, have not done Buccaneers, and we have not done Giants Commanders. And like so many other teams, there's only one left.
There's only one left. And I struggled with this one. I was going back and forth with this team in that team and then the other team.
Uh.
And I'm being vague for a reason, but one thing gets kept popping up in my head. I got trapped. I fell in love with the HBO special hard knot.
Let's go right here. So that's three.
You're right now, No Cowboys. Look, I get it that the Cowboys are supposed to be the America's team, but when I look at it, I got to ask honest question. Maybe not to you, Peter, but can you name a wide receiver not named Cebee Lamb or Brandon Cooks?
I can't?
People, can't you football? But right, let's never mind the teams you didn't pick. Who gets a damn you did pick? Yes, don't apologize. So the Bears.
So I like the Chicago Bears, but you know the Dallas Cowboys, I just I see them falling on I know they've been to the playoffs, right, but this year I don't see them making it.
On the show, both of you have picked the Chicago Bears. Who makes the playoff to remain in the first AFC?
All right, let's get right into it. Okay, I'm gonna move through this one a little quicker.
All right, AFC East Buffalo. I've got Buffalo Bills.
You and I we agree on that, all right, Boom here it is all right. We've got the AFC North Birds, Ravens, alright, the Browns, all yeah, I know I was thinking about them. Okay, here we go. We got the South over here, the a f C South. This team looks good. They have stacked everything up defense, offense. I'm going with the Houston Texans. I truly believe and how they're building this team around C. J.
Strout. All right, this one's an easy one. A F C.
West, I love you Chargers, I love you Raiders, but we're going with the Chiefs.
All right, Three left, all right, wild Card.
We've got the We're in the wildcard Wildcards. This one was tough, all right, AFC. Who do you think I'm gonna go with on this one?
I think you're gonna go with the Browns. I think you're gonna go with your Raiders, okay, And I think we're gonna go with the Chargers.
The Chargers.
Okay, Well guess what I went with the other Orange team?
Wow? All right?
Okayady, Bengals with the Cincinnati Bengals on that one.
Here we go, all right.
None of you guys will see this one coming, but I truly believe in this dude. He's been doing it since before the iPhone came out. Here we go, all right, Rogers and the New York Jentlemen got them going in the waldcart. Last one on this one here, Peter, I love you all right, yeah, Jamie, he called it the I got the Chargers Coach of the Year. Jim Harball is gonna have this team from a five win team while.
He's gonna boost them up. I really do believe that they're going to.
Make a push against the Kansas City Chiefs.
But this is my ANC team, right.
Got it.
This is a very big logo, not there.
Okay, that very big logos the Miami Dolphins had.
You don't even have them in the top seven. Yeah, yeah, but I do have the Jets. Room for everyone, not room for everyone.
Yeah.
Couldn'tinue with the Packers in och Bar. Congratulations because Josh Shacobs is coming on the show. We would have been dressed. We would have been stressed. Josh Sajobs were coming to right around the corner, och Bar. Well done your first great job, that job, good job, really good. There he is Josh Jacobs.
One of the best players in the NFL, A legend from Alabama and angry runner and all pro from the Green Bay Packers.
Josh Shakobs.
What's up, Josh? Oh dude, it is so good to see you. We have so much to talk. Let's get right into it. You are headed to Brazil the country to take on the Eagles this Friday night. Josh, You've played all over the place, you're a veteran now, you never played something like this. How are you feeling going into this game in Brazil?
What's it like? Oh? Man?
You know, definitely with the trip being as long as it is, this job by embracing man.
You know, we talked about it yesterday.
You know, the Eagles got to go through the same you know, situations as us, and we're just gonna try to go out there and make the best of it.
We cannot wait to watch.
I also think it's cool to look at that Green Bay Packers logo underneath you.
It just looks right.
It looks like a fit, and I know it felt like a fit for you, Josh, But you've talked about how maybe the Chiefs are trying to get you and you weren't feeling that as a guy.
Who was with the Raiders.
You also said, I never wanted to be the guy that joined the dominant team. I want to be the guy that beats the dominant team. And it's a badass quote. It's just a little unusual in the NFL. Normally in the NFL, that Kevin Durant thing has looked at a little bit differently.
But you felt very strongly why.
Man, like I said, Man, going against them and you know, obviously not not winning a lot against them kind of made me feel like a certain hate towards them. But not only that, Like I said, like growing up, I was the underdog. I went to Alabama to prove that I belonged. So I went there for myself. Now that I feel like I belong I don't want to be with the team that you know has all the pieces. I want to be the team that's figuring it out and you know it is taking down the Giants.
Mmmm.
This is I love the chip that you already have on your shoulder here as a Packer because you go into a division that everyone's picking the Lions to go to the Super Bowl. Everyone's saying the bears of the hot team. Tell us about this Packers offense and what you guys have bruin, how you're gonna fit in, and what Matt Lafleur and Jordan Love got going last year, and just a little taste of what we can expect starting Friday night in South Polo.
Man, the thing that I noticed from day one about this offense is how explosive it is.
Man.
I mean, the tight ends, the receivers, you know, obviously the quarterback. Like any given even a given play, it could be a big one. And that's the thing that incites me the most. Obviously with having the top five quarterback you know, back there, he makes a lot of things easier. So man, it makes a decided for me. Man, I don't have to run against you know, loaded boxes every game. Teams don't definitely have to pick what they want.
To start, Josh. Last time you and I chatted, we were standing on a stage in Atlanta after the twenty eighteen SEC Championship, a game in which to a play Jalen played, but you were named the MVP. Standing on the other side of you that day was Nick Saban. He's not coaching college football anymore. How do you feel about Nick Saban leaving coaching and becoming the analyst that you're seeing charisma, character and personality from on TV?
Man, I taught to tell people all the time that he's liked that, Like, I don't know why people think that he's so like straight stuff, like he has a personality. But man, it's we're seeing them. Man, I'm not gonna lodge just seeing them not coaching after coaching, you know, obviously being one of the greatest to ever do it, if not the greatest in the college football scene. Man, it's I mean, it's we're seeing them. But I think I think it's Tom Man. I mean, with the way that the game is going, the way that he likes to coaching and things like that, I don't know if it's really his coaching style is really meant for this era.
Wow, that's that's an interesting take on that one with the coach. But I got to ask you this, man, you you got a chance to meet w W E big boys, Stroman and Oldis at practice a month ago.
What did you guys talk about?
And if you could, like let us know, Man, which one of these dudes would you run over?
You know, I know you're an angry runner. Which one of these dudes would you run over? I'm not gonna lie.
They way bigger than what I thought.
I asked them.
I'm like, man, I'm like, why y'all ain't out here be out here playing?
You know? But man, I mean I just asked them.
I had to talk to them like how they go about you know, they day to day business and do they feel comfortable doing what they doing at that you know, high level, like jumping off the ropes and stuff like that, like I could never do. So I was just having them, you know. It was a mutual respect type of thing. And man, they really funny gods, cool dudes.
It's you know, there's so much entertainment to it, but there is a really cool side about how they take care of their bodies, how they put.
Them through that year.
And you're out and so perform in front of the crowd that I know you could relate to before you go, Josh, I don't know if we had like a little glitch in the satellite connection, but I think you said that your quarterback Jordan Love is a top five guy in the league.
Is that what you said? Are you standing by that top five?
I must stand on that for so easily, easily best, easily one of the best out of seeing with my own wives, you know obviously, you know going in that conference, I was dance seeing Pat the pat uh he got, he got a lot of these similar qualities. Man, I think that he's gonna have a great year.
Look at that. I love it.
You know what you feel like a packer man, and you're gonna be going immediately to Brazil and we.
Cannot wait to watch you. Peter, you got something.
Yeah, we do prediction weekend like everyone's speaking the Lions. You listen to Josh talk about that Packers offense, Josh, it's intoxicating, Like I cannot wait to watch you Friday, and I cannot wait for this next chapter in your career.
Man appreciated.
Man can't wait to show you know the fans of what I can do here and hopefully man win some games, win some games.
I think we're gonna be sending Josh Jacobs an angry run scepter too.
I think that's coming. Glambeo Josh, and you know it and we know it. Go get him due it. Enjoyed, Brazil,
