Good Morning Football.
What's happening, good people? This is Good Morning Football presented by Old Trapper Beef Turkey. We're live at our breakfast table here in La. It's there's act over tenth. That is Mantiiteo. This is akbar Bush being the law. I'm jamieard Al, Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt in New York.
My goodness, Peter.
The Mets last night Grand Slam. That was a beautiful thing to see, except if you live in Philadelphia.
New York City is a buzz, Jamie, and I think Los Angeles might be too. The Dodgers stay alive baseball and yet tonight tonight we watch football.
Yeah, and somehow we were still able to get a shot of a homes last night.
It was great.
It's all the webs that we weave. Let's begin with Thursday night. As Peter mentioned, the Seahawks play host to their NFC West rival, the San Francisco forty nine Ers this evening. Rock Purdy in his career, is four and oh as a starter against Seattle, which includes a postseason win. It's been a struggle though for the Niners as of late. It's a massive game for both teams, and during Thursday night. We love divisional matchups on Thursday night. It really sets the tone for the weekend.
Forty nine Ers tight end.
You know, we love him.
George Kittle talk to media this week about the atmosphere anticipated in Seattle. That's one of my favorite places to play because of their crowd and when it's a night game two, it's incredibly loud.
Field three. They hate us and so it's extra loud, and I absolutely love that.
It's like that one of the best environments in football is specifically for the forty nine ers.
Shanahan is trying to get the forty nine ers back on track. Good morning, everybody, and the injury riddled Niners coming off of a massively disappointing loss at the Cardinals in Week five. Peter, let's go to the NFC West. Let's take it to Show territory. It's Thursday night.
Begin Yeah, this has become the niners second home of late. They have won five straight games over the Seahawks, and they have handled the Seahawks in Seattle the last three years. And you look at this team now, they need to win desperately, desperately so George Kittle says, this is a great place to play. Anywhere would be a great place to play if it ends with a win. If it ends with a loss, the Niners would be zero to three in the division before even Halloween. A head scratching loss where they gave a big lead away to the Rams, a head scratching loss to the Cardinals last week where they gave a big lead away to the Cards. And now they go up to Seattle, a place where they have had a lot of success in recent years, and a team that doesn't have Byron Murphy, their rookie defensive tackle, a team that doesn't have Tarrek Wollen, and it doesn't have several other players on defense. This should be a Niners win. And yet the way they're playing, they don't deserve us to just hand them that w This is not the Niners of old. The guys, this San Francisco forty nine ers team right now, an offense that has been known to be explosive under Kyle Shanhan. They are last in the league in yards after catch. That's a team that used to go hey, little bubble to Debo, Little bubble to mcaffis a little bubble.
You go go, you check go.
They've got nothing after the catch.
Purdy is getting beat up back there despite a really good offensive line, and Jordan Mason is really their top offensive player for the forty nine ers, a guy who you didn't expect to even see much of.
They need to win desperately, I think, and I know this sounds like it's it's it's me being extreme in the morning.
And two and four with an zero to three record in the division before Halloween, that's not nine or so. That's not Super Bowl contender football. Then you're really digging yourself out of a hole. I'm looking at San Francisco. This has been a place where they've had a lot of success in recent years. Party's ever lost there. Kittle doesn't lose their too often. I think this needs to be a win for San Francisco, Seattle getting their house money.
Three and two team, a young squad whatever. San Francisco, well, three.
Hundred and twenty million dollars payroll, two and four, I won three in the division.
No can't that can't go down like that.
Yeah, Peter, you said that that number five, that they have five straight wins. The nine Ers have five straight wins.
Right.
The number five also comes into play with the number of carries that Kenneth Walker had this past week against the Giants. He had only five carries for nineteen yards. Ryan Grubb came out this week and said that they need to get them the game. I don't know what they need to get them the ball. I don't know what's complicated about this game. S Football is a simple game complicated by coaches.
And you talk about you talk.
About Keareth Walker when you want when when they played against the Lions, he had twelve carries for eighty yards and three touchdowns and then you're going to follow him up with five carries, Like what are we doing here? So I'm really looking forward to Kenneth Walker getting the carriers that he needs. If Zach Charbonnay is a guy that's leading your your backfield, you have you have a problem. And Gino Smith was you're leading rusher last week. And I don't even need to watch the game, but I just got to watch the stats and look at it. And if I see Geno Smith as you're leading leading Russia, I know that it was a bet game for the Seattle Seahawks. So I'm really looking forward to them just getting back.
To who they are. Kenneth Walker is your bell call.
Kenneth Walker is that guy that gets your team going. Now, as far as the Sacransisco forward nine ers are concerned, ten points, you.
Know where that number comes in.
They've been leading the past two NFC West opponents by ten points in the fourth quarter, and they've come to lose those games.
So can they finish these games?
They when they went up against the Rams, they are up by ten in the fourth in the fourth quarter. When they played Arizona, they were up by ten in the fourth quarter. Yet they've found a way to not produce offensively and not keep points down defensively. So I'm looking forward to them kind of showing up that fourth quarter production.
Yeah, And speaking about fourth quarter production, I think for the forty nine ers, like this is a talented team that we were touting earlier in the year, but like when you come down to it, like this is a team that's two and four for a reason, like they've been struggling in the red zone. This is a team that early will put up points, you know early in the game. Thirteen points here, sixteen points, the well. Once they get into the red zone, they're ranked twenty to ninth and in the red zone for touchdown percentage.
I mean, what are we doing in here?
Like you have a Brandon Nayuk who seems like he's back after last week's game. He's like playing, Well, you've got deepo Samuel, of course, you've got George Kittle, and you have this you know, the second leading rushing Russia right now and Mason like, we have to.
Do something with that.
So I think it's going to come down to brock Perty being able to put that ball in tight windows, really being productive in that space, in that small space in the red zone. But then also when I think about the you know, their offense, you know, like can somebody get in their face and get.
Them charged up? Like I can't.
I can't watch another field goal go up when you're down in the red zone, Like somebody get in their face yell at them. I want to see that thing that we saw with bo Nix and Sean Payton, like yelling and fighting. Something has to happen with brock Party and that offense in the red zone area. But I think that this is a team that is strong enough to fight back against the Seattle Seahawks.
Well, we'll say it's time Seattle beat this team. Beat the crap out of them. You're playing better than them, You are better than them.
You're at home.
Do that. The Niners, let's go get your act together, get your bleep together.
It's time two and three. That's fine.
Kyle Shanan has been two and four before and he's made a title game. He can do it, but he's not doing it right now. Here's what I look at. The Niners are one of our standards. They're the flavor you go to. These are one of our standards of excellence in the league. There are six teams that have made the playoffs each of the last three years. Six teams Chiefs, Bills, Bucks, Niners, Eagles, Cowboys. All of those teams are at least five hundred, most of them above it. And then there's these stinky, rotten two and three. We always blow at late Niners.
Let's go.
We have so much expectation for this brand and this coach and these players. Deebo's back out there, Kittles back out there. I know any injury news, and everybody's got injury stuff, all right. Do you know that the Niners secondary does not have an interception this year, and that's not them. They never score at the goal. And like we just talked about, and again, this guy's not falling.
The thing's not all over.
You can get your act together, but it starts tonight. You have beaten better Seattle teams than this. You have been in tougher situations than this. Let's get back to Niner football. I'll tell you this, folks watching at home, do not turn this game off early. I don't care if the Niners are up sixteen to thirteen or forty to nothing. They may blow it. Turn on the game and leave it.
I'll go to sleep. Don't flip the channel, don't start scrolling, go.
And find this game late. Because Kyle Shanahan is really on the edge of the knife right now. In terms of legacy, reputation, Internet jokes, it's always.
He blows it late.
I can pull up fifty different jokes, super Bowl jokes, regular season jokes, and you can cure those things. There was a time when Andy Reid was known for poor clock management. That was his legacy, Big Red. We've seen now without Super Bowl rings. You would turn on Monday morning to be jokes that Andy Reid doesn't know what time it is.
He changed all of that.
Kyle Shannan can not change that tonight, but he can sure go the other way if he's up again on the road and blows it. Don't turn this game off late. The Niners might, but you know what they say. I've said this for years, guys, football is a simple game, complicen Kyle Shanahan finished the game.
My god, you're better than this. You know.
That's my brother Kerry b No, that's what I'm talking about, Kate.
Let him know.
That quote implies that you never wanted to become a coach, since you think they all know.
I wanted to be right here, guys, after I was like, I'm going to my family.
I don't want to be a coach.
You know, Kyle, you also mentioned injuries, and it just like it hits me, like I get it. When I was talking about the red zone and first off correction two and three, I said two and four, two and three. But Christian McCaffrey is the I mean, is obviously the big miss right here in that production and offense, and we can't that can't be understated, like this is part of the reason why we're seeing this sloppy play, especially in the red zone area.
Yeah, I would add this, You know, over the last five meetings San Francisco has handled Seattle. Seattle is not the same Seattle that they were under Pete those last few They've got this young, new spirit and they've lost two in a row. But I think tonight's also a national coming out party for the national NFL audience who don't necessarily know Mike McDonald the new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. And you mentioned Ryan Grubb, who's now the offensive coordinator. McDonald was the defensive coordator in Baltimore last year. He gets this job, but was also at the college game at Michigan. Grub came from the University of Washington. So it's the same faces in Gino Smith and DK Metcalf and all this stuff. But like, I think we're going to see a different Seattle team that's gotten the sand kicked in them by the forty nine ers over the last five meetings.
Yeah, can we focus on Geno Smith for a second. I think let's just all go around and give like a state of the nation or opinion on Gino Smith. In the start of the Seahawks offense because at times it felt like empty calories with this team. They started out to a three and oh star, but we weren't really obsessing over their undefeated season at that time because of who they had played and who they had beat. Now they've dropped two games, but Gino Smith is still the statistical king in the league right now. He's leading a ton of categories. If McDonald has called him a bright spot on their football team, Kyle, let me start with you.
You look at Gino.
Smith, you watch him play within the Seahawks offense. Why are we still not hyping up the fact that Gino Smith maybe is at elite play despite losing games.
Same reason we didn't throw a parade for the two and oh Saints, same reason.
We've been down this road before and we like Gino. He is not a world beater.
Nora is Seattle and listen, if they lose tonight, then they are the Pacific Northwest Saints. The big start to start the season and then fall in your face a little bit. Don't go three and the losses in a row and lose to the Niners at home. Everybody loves Gino. Nobody loves Gino more than on this show. We've seen a lot of seasons with Gino, and no one was shocked when they lost too in a row after starting three And Oh, Seahawks fans don't wind us, you probably feel the same way.
Who else does a comment on Gino Smith? Who's up? Look?
You think about all the stuff that we've been through with Gino.
This is his time.
He's now the guy, and he's playing well, playing really well.
He's playing, so it's go out there win this game. They go out there and do this.
Gino is looking awesome and this stage of his career is a good place. But no one's got better wide receivers in that guy, DK and Lockett and now you know Jackson Smith and Jig but who, by the way, if you didn't see the footage, had one of the best blocking performances you see.
Everyone loves seeing it downfield. I think it's a cool up. Jenny, Like we didn't talk about the Seahawks and Gena.
You're right, they were three and oho, but they'd be in New England and they'd beaten Denver and they had beaten someone else you know, wasn't worthy of everyone's prey lost two in a row.
This is a big one for Gino.
Yeah.
I think all the starts and begins and ends with with Gino and being able to just stay in the moment, you know, don't don't try to compete about what's happening on the other sideline.
Just do what you do.
Stay within the sticks. Give the ball to Kenneth Walker. I know that's probably not Geno, that's Ryan Grubb. They're calling those plays, but staying within the sticks, giving the ball to DK.
Let DK do big things.
With those explosives, and you know, let Jason Jackson Smith and Jigbow be that kind of X factor in the in the slot and just just stay within yourself. I think you'll be fine.
All right, It's a tasty little West Coast game divisional match up on Thursday night. Tom Pellasero, good morning to you, our insider on GMFB today, Tom, do you agree that football is a simple game complicated by coaches?
I would say Jamie that my standpoint on this differs from Manti. In fact, I never played or coached the game, So what do I really know. I'm just here to deliver you the news. Decisions being made by people who actually know what the hell's going on?
How about this?
So let's talk, Plomers. Do players complicate the news cycle for you? When Davante Adams says I want out and now we all have to wait until something happens.
Well, Jamie, it has been ten days since DeVante Adams told the Raiders that he preferred to be traded, and now as Week six begins, DeVante Adams is still a Raider. Head coach Antonio Pierce spoke with reporters on Wednesday, said that he and Adams have spoken recently, said that everything is good. There also said that Adams remains in the building rehabbing his hamstring, which indicates that Adams would not be playing this week for the Raiders or anybody else. What I can tell you is the Jets remain interested in a Devonte Adams trade. Obviously the Saints have also been interested. That situation has become more complicated. More on that in a second. Teams like the Steelers and the Bills also are hovered as potential options here. But the Raiders have made clear two other teams that if they don't get their price, they are willing to wait for the right deal, and nobody involved has ruled out the possibility of DeVante Adams playing for the Raiders again. If he does, it could be with a different quarterback because Antonio Pierce also is making a move at that position. At least for this week, it'll be Aidan O'Connell getting the start over Gardner Minshew this Sunday against the Steelers. Now, you might remember in the Netflix Receiver Show and DeVante Adams was talking about the benching of Jimmy Garoppolo last year. He said that he signed off on that move, and who did the Raiders go to at that time?
Aiden O'Connell.
He went five and five as the starter down the stretch last season. With a new coaching staff in place, they felt like the experience of Gardner Minshew out of the gate made sense. Obviously got a big win with him against Baltimore, but last week against Denver was really really rough. Now Aidan O'Connell, who's a different style of quarterback, a pure pocket passer, is.
Going to get his opportunity.
Meanwhile, these Saints also by force, are going to have to make a quarterback change. Derek Carr out for at least a couple of games because of an oblique injury and new Orleans is going to go with rookie fifth round pick Spencer Ratler. This is interesting because Rattler had been the number three quarterback on the depth chart. Number two was Jake Hayter, who took over after cars injury last week against Kansas City. My understanding is part of the reason of going with Rattler here is the state of the Saints offensive line. They have had a bunch of injuries up front. They maybe need a quarterback who is number one used to dealing with a lot of pressure. He got the craft kicked out of him last year South Carolina, but also can extend plays, maybe move around a little bit more, try to play above the level of the offensive line. No easy task for Spencer Ratler. His first NFL starter, his first NFL regular season game action on Sunday against a Todd Bowles Buccaneers defense.
And that name should sound familiar to football fans because Spencer Rattler went through it in college and his journey and his story in the Peaks and the Valleys. So it continues for Spencer Rattler the next chapter Tom Tonight.
We appreciate it.
Welcome back to Good Morning Football. We have an old friends and a legend.
This guy changed the way defensive football is played. He is a Walter Payton Man of the Year. He has done it all and he joins us from the regal United Kingdom.
Good morning, Charles Tillman. How are you? And do the British people eat peanuts?
They don't eat peanuts, they eat biscuits. Hello, Loves, Hello, loves. How's everybody?
We're doing great?
We love to see you well.
Long live The Bears are not the king right now, Charles, but they're three and two.
They have a long home win streak.
Of course, now they're in London playing the pseudo home team Jaguars.
Let's just take a step back. What do you think of the twenty twenty four Bears right now?
I love the twenty twenty four Bears. I'm really loving this defense. You know, the defense has been playing good all season long. The thing that I'm looking and I'm liking about the offense is consistency. That's the one word I can use about the offense is consistency. Last week they played a not so good Carolina Panthers team, but they showed consistency throughout the entire game. And I'm looking to see that same consistency we beat up on the Jags.
Yeah you know, Oja, you kind of mentioned the Bears defense. This Bears the ranks third with eleven takeaways. You know a thing or two about forcing turnovers that two thousand and six Bears led the league with forty four. How important to this defense?
To the Bears is? How important is this defense to the Bear success this season?
It's it's the most important thing. So here's what's funny about the league. Everyone puts all the importance on the offense.
But when when the game's on the line, what does the crowd always chant let's go or they say d defense?
Right?
No one, no one ever says let's go offense. It's always defend.
We have our own chance.
Every we have our own chant in every stadium, in all thirty two teams, every team does this, right, Am I making that up?
We all say that, right.
There's a there's a stat out there, and this is since the beginning of time.
If you're plus one, there's a seventy percent chance you win the game, plus two to eighty plus three ninety chance you will win that game. Defense, it's all about takeaways. Notice we don't say a turnover offense, they turn the ball over.
Defense.
We take the ball away. That's what we do, and that's what this Bears That's what this Bears defense does. They take the ball away. That's old school bear down, old school football Traday, and that's what we do.
Take the ball, retain the ball, and win the ball game consistently. London is a good time when the NFL heads over there. It feels like now it's we occupy the city for weeks on end. Jaguars they come to town, they think that they because they've been their longest, this is their city.
Whatnot?
Have the Bears fans taken over London yet? And if not, how do you feel like it would be best to ingratiate yourself there if you are from Chicago and London.
So I will say Bears fans have taken over, and like like you said earlier, it's a pseudo home team for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now I'll say this, I think they would normally take over, but you know they've Florida has had a little bit of hurricane problems in the last two to four hours, so I don't think we'll see a large fan base of Jaguars fans out here this time just because of Hurricane Milton. Now, with that being said, Bears fans we travel well. We travel well no matter where we go. He could be England, it could be Spain, it could be Germany. Were gonna be there. Bears fans, they travel well. And I think I have a kickoff party with some Bears fans at one of the puffs here on Friday. I guarantee you it'll be Bear Central in the UK, guaranteed, no doubt, no doubt.
All right, that's cool. You well, you know your old coach ron ri very is part.
Of our can I can I just stop it real quick. I'm feeling it. I'm filling the shirt, man, I'm feeling the shirt.
You know what.
I appreciate that.
I wore that because Manti is here today, and so I just thought, you know, you know, give it.
Yeah.
I like the vibes the pastel, you know, very easterous, and I like his. You too compliment each other fairly.
Well, yeah, thanks you, and it brings up the red undertake.
What you got. You gotta you gotta we gotta switch that up. You gotta get some color man.
Coloring there don Johnson over here.
Hey, you know, hey, Peter, look, I'm sure you're there to support your bears, but tell the viewers what else you're doing with USAA and the Salute to Service boot camp.
Well, we had a Salute to Service boot camp. I'm here on behalf of us AAA.
No, it was a good time.
We were out here at this Air Force base and we had a makeshift combine. I don't know. There might have been a coble scouts.
There might have been a couple of port hamstrings by some of the soldiers when they yeah, old boys for real, you know, they ran a forty, They did the l drill, they did the shuttle.
It was actually a whole lot of fun.
What most people don't know is I grew up in military base my entire life, eighteen years. My dad served twenty years. My dad got out when I was eighteen. So I've been on basis. I've lived overseas. I've lived in Germany, Mannheim, Sembach, Ramstein, all these places that I lived before, and I know what it's like to be overseas away from family.
In USA.
The USAA does a great job of supporting former service members retire service members, and they just do a great job of supporting them.
And I'm here on behalf of them, and they do some good stuff.
Oh that's great, man, It's incredible that you do that.
And you're known for so much of that off the field and charitable work, and you're a Walter Payton Man of the Year.
And at the same time, dude, you are known most for punching, and we know that and we love that.
In fact, Charles, we're gonna show you some of the best peanut punches that have happened so far this year, and I want you to give them a letter grade from F to A plus perfection.
Couldn't do it better. Here we go, We do it once? Do it? Leave? This is Nick Bosa on the forty nine ers. Give us the video. No, it's Joey Bosa. What do you think about this?
Oh that's a plus. He's coming from across the board.
That's a plus right there. Uh in runner back had no clue what was coming. That's what makes that a plus right there? All awareness. I love it, Bosa, love it. Give me more, give me a plus.
Facts to follow a plus. Let's go to week five, Thursday Night Football.
Great player Jesse Bates lands a punch, and let's see how you think of this one.
Oh, left hand, this is this is a plus plus plus because this is with the left and I guarantee you bas is a right handed So when you can knock somebody out with the left, that's an eight plus plus plus.
That's three plus right there, right And that was the one to suit the game right there, he.
Had massive It was amazing plus plus.
Our final play, also from week one, the great Fred Warner.
Look at this one. Take it away, peanut, how many pluses?
That is pure perfection.
Look at that fist he lined up, he saw it coming from them all away, he loaded up hand I coordination that right there. You saved the best for last, Fred, one of the best to do it, one of the best in the business. I remember this play because I was watching this game. I didn't get a shout out, I don't think, but that was solid plus plus plus plus.
That's a I got a question. Unbelievable to get the four pluses. I love it.
We didn't show it because he's injured, but the deceiver, she writes, an offensive player doing the punch and got the ball loose there after the homes and of course hits his knee. But what do you think of an offensive player doing a peanut punch?
A couple of weeks ago, I did so. I did an interview earlier. Someone asked me how cool is that people are doing the peanut punch? And I say, you know, yeah, it's cool. At humbling, I left the mark in the game. The most impressive thing that I'm seeing now is offensive players are doing the peanut punch when they create a turno and it throw an interception, or there's the four slung. I have seen running backs. I've seen receivers do the peanut punch. Sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't. They don't have enough practice, or they don't practice it enough. But I've seen them do it. That's pretty damn cool.
I'm not gonna lie.
That's pretty so y'all know he y'all got angry runs and you get up there and you talk about the angry runs.
One of my favorite.
Sessions that you do. We got to get a peanut punch award trophy or something.
You're welcome to do it.
All right, we gotta get a we gotta do a peanuts something.
I'm not gonna.
If you do it, will I will do Peanuts.
Something going on, get you a video game, offensive players who are doing it, you eventually kick or do it.
We're all over at Peanut.
So much to say, so many things that contribute us a an incredible source and acredible thing that you do with them. Go Bears in London, Go Jags, Peanut, tell the guys incredible incredible game like the like the.
Brother triggers NFL Trivia. If you watch on Thursdays, you.
Know it previews the weekend's matchups and we give you questions and you play at home. This is our version of I don't know, Jeopardy or Deal or No Deal, whatever your favorite game show is. We do it once a week on Good Morning Football. We're gonna do it right now. It previews the match chefs coming up. So we're gonna start off with the great Manti Teo Manti, Are you ready for your question.
Peter, he's so excited.
Lion and the Cowboys are going at it on Fox on Sunday.
Brady on the call, Manti.
The last time the Detroit Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas was in two thousand and eleven. Your question, is this the team with the longest streak in years of being winless on the road against another team is who the Lions in Dallas that's been since twenty eleven, the Lions in Pittsburgh, the Cardinals in New England, or the Jaguars in Green Bay. The question again, the longest stretch of years since this team has won in that building.
This is a mind bender here Carnal, Jaguars, Lions.
Dude, I would say, Peter, the Lions in Pittsburgh would be my hands Kat B.
Final answer man tala, I love the effort.
The correct answer is B. No Lion.
Check this out.
The Lions have not won in Pittsburgh in sixty nine years.
The Lions have not won in Pittsburgh in sixty nine.
Years at sixty nine, however, long song.
However, they do have two ties in Pittsburgh during that time winless, including a sixteen to sixteen tie during twenty twenty one where I missed extra point allowed the Steelers to tie that with two field goals, and the other tie was in nineteen fifty nine.
The last win by the Lions.
In Pittsburgh was Week eight, nineteen fifty five. They won thirty one to twenty eight and three different Lions players toss a touchdown pass that game.
My name's Bobby Lane, Bill Stitz and the great Harry Gilbert. My dad was seven in Nigeria. My goodness, thank you, Peter, thank you. We're good. Bill Stit's from Bill Stits from Navy. If you know where Bill Stits went to college?
Tweet the show Commanders play the Ravens on Sunday, Achbar. The first time these two franchises ever played was on October twenty sixth, nineteen ninety seven. Who were the two starting quarterbacks? In nineteen ninety seven? The first time the Ravens played Washington? Was it a He's Schuler and Tony Banks?
Was it B?
Todd Collins and Jim Harbaugh?
Was it C.
Gus Faratt and Vinnie Testa?
Or was it D?
Brad Johnson and Elvis Gerbach?
The question again? Nineteen ninety seven. Ravens versus Washington their old team name, and I want to say it on the air the first time they played? Who are the starting quarterbacks?
Ackbar get after it?
Nineteen ninety seven.
I was at Crenshaw High School, Senior High School College. Jim Harpall. Jim Harball was like he was no, I guess Jim Harba was gonnaleave for a minute?
Was it? Gus's a lot didn't time? I feel like it's seer d Brad Johnson, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go d Brad Johnson and Elva Elvis Gerbeck, I'm gonna go.
D Okay, both of those guys would play for those respective teams.
But but years later the answer is actually ce Gus Barott and Bennie testa Verdi. We don't do buzzer for wrong answers. That's not our game. We encourage people to try.
There's Vinnie Tesaverdi in a Ravens jersey playing against Washington.
Unbelievable time. Farrot though, was the star.
In this one through for one hundred and ninety nine yards and two touchdowns. Of course, the Ravens had Bam Morris sat running back that day who.
Went for one to seventy six. Farat let it rip.
But the bottom line was this. Baltimore got the victory that day their first time ever playing. You know that is a Brian Mitchell right there.
That's what we do.
Baltimore won twenty to seventeen, and Gus Faratt was on the losing end of this.
One alone was Vinnie and Baltimore.
That one I missed that one.
Vinnie was everywhere. I like Carolina Panthers. VINNI personally too.
Peter, Wow, yeah, Okay, good Jamie. Are you ready for you now? To get elting back on the on the track. Here they're calling him Brick. That's that Rogers were first. Who has Brick? Jeff Olbrick is the new head coach of.
The Jets, taking over for the recently fired Robert Sala. The last interim head coach to coach a game as early as Week six in an NFL season was Steve Wilkes, who filled in.
For Matt Ruhle in twenty twenty two.
Okay, the quarterback for Steve Wilkes's first game as the Panthers interim head coach in Week six of twenty twenty two was who Ay, Sam Darnold, B Teddy Bridgewater, C.
Baker Mayfield or d P. J. Walker.
To set the stage again, Steve Wilkes comes in for Matt rule. It's just week six two years ago. Who was the starter in that very next game?
You know our friend who won the first ever? Who wants to be a millionaire, and there's like the famous clip where he calls his dad and says, I don't actually need your help, dad, I just want to tell you that I want to win a million dollars and we just that's how I feel right now. Okay, So last weekend, we're in the production meeting with Sam Darnold with the Vikings, and he tells this great story about being in the quarterback room that season with Baker Mayfield. However, they were both riddled with injuries and they had this friendship developed. I said, wow, how early were the injuries and what did they do when the both of them were hurt?
So I went on this whole boredom.
Investigation into what happened in the twenty twenty two Panther season and the quarterbacks and the coaches and the change or whatever. It's d PJ.
Walker, And I don't even if.
I just want to call my dad and tell him I did get the question right, because I just did this, like as I couldn't sleep in London the other night so i'd know what's me doing.
Wow, Jamie, it's incredible, no time waste, sid You're right, it's p J.
Walker. Incredible.
There is nobody on earth who has thought of the twenty twenty two Panthers in two years ahead.
But you you did it, Thank you, thank you.
And it was like the universe saying, remember this for shrig Er NFL trivia.
That is incredible.
HEJ.
Walker is the right answer.
Of course, out of Temple from Matt Rule brought him in Jamie way to go, Kyle.
Are you ready?
Yeah, A couple of things.
Our guy Bill Stits researcher, says he went to Ucla, Okay, Southern California man and the name of the man who won that who wants to be a millionaire, and called his dad, John Carpenter. I love that got directed Halloween horror film, No No, No different, John Carpenter.

I just wanted to call tell you that I just want a million dollars.

Walker if you're watching, we love you Walker, Kyle. The Giants and Bengals actually don't have a ton of history. They're playing this weekend in nineteen ninety four. The game was tied at twenty late in the fourth quarter twenty twenty, nineteen ninety four, and this is what happened.
Take a watch it.
Touchdown Josh direct Coy with sucks to go. I have the four four Rodney Hampton with a second touchdown of the game.
Wow, it's our favorite NFL season nineteen ninety four with the patch on honoring seventy five years. That's Dave Brown to Rodney Hampton. The Giants would go on to win that game. That game was in December of nineteen ninety four. An important question for you on the number one song per Billboard in America in December of nineteen ninety.
Four was what I'm just gonna listen on me.
Look here comes the Hot Stepper by Annie Camosi TUTSI.
Roll, Oh yeah, sixty nine boys with a z.
Undone, the Sweater song by our friends at Weezer and d the song of every eighth grade dance that year, every prom as.
Well on Bended Knee by Boys to Men.
When Rodney Hampton scored that touchdown, what was the number one song in America December of ninety four? All right, I can eliminate Weezer because I remember buying the blue album. It did come out in ninety four, but I bought it in the spring, so I think that was May so I don't think it would still be number one by the time I get to December. I love TUTSI roll. What was it called the sixty nine Boys? Because what became of the sixty nine I.
Had another hit too. I went down a deep dive with that. They had two songs in the.
Top ten at one point. I don't know if they had a number one hit in TUTSI.
Role the masters of subtlety, the sixty nine Boys. And here's the crazy thing. I've not opened my eyes yet on Bended Knee. I have this thing that I remember about On Bended Knee. Not only do I believe it became the number one song, I think it was the really rare instance where Boys to Men eliminated their own song from number one and replaced it with a new song on number one.
I believe the song they replaced as I'll Make Love to You, another great prom song.
And then but that's that almost never happens, like the Beatles do that and Elvis do that?
Does that?
I think it's Boys to Men on Bended Knee taking themselves out of the number one spot at the end of nineteen ninety four.
At some point, am I.
Right Kyle eyes closed eyes open. You're absolutely right, didn't me. I want a song for the boys from Philly?
Of course, Boys and Men's song was at number one for a total of six weeks. They did the thing, and I think you're right. I think it was all make love to and I gotta think.
End of the Road was number one.
At some place.
So is Their name is perfect because a lot of boys become men to their musics.
That's why they call themselves that perfect.

Let's go Vernon cash that ball. The fourteen.
Spent from thirty to three before treat so I can't just stay Davis touchdown.
What an unbelievable game by Vernon Davis. That's the emotion of the game, that is.
This has been the most amazing finish to a game that I have seen in a long time.
Oh, we jumped in their rhythm, Matt till you're right? What do you remember that one Matt time?
Well, remember I grew up a forty nine er fans, so I was watching that game, and during my time with the Saints we talked a lot about that game. So there there, there's there's so many memories, both good and bad as a fan. And then also as a Saints player when I was over there about the Niners, and and and in the playoff game against the Niners. So I definitely remember that game Wood all right.
