Good Morning Football.
Hey, everybody, welcome inside. This is, of course Good Morning Football. We are presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerkey live here in Los Angeles. Friends are at the table. I'm Davy Heart al Akbar Baja Biamila, Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt.
Feels great to say Old Trapper be fine.
The tradition is that this week now becomes prediction Week.
I don't know if anyone else's palms are sweating just yet.
It's prediction week. We've been doing it all week.
We've given you playoff teams, We've given you MVPs Defensive Player of the Year. Today is it all of us will predict our super Bowl winner.
And I think we're doing it like now, aren't we.
So yeah, that's it. If you're betting lead off, I leave, Bar.
You're gonna go next, Peter and I will disclose our matchups and team selections in the beginning of the next hour. And Peter, you've got history here with this segment.
Jamie, there is a burden that I have, awk Bar, I'm not sure aware of this. I've had the last three super Bowl picks the last three years absolutely correct. In the last six years, I have had at least the exact matchup or one of the two super Bowl contenders. Everywhere I go in public, it's who's wining super Bowl? Who's going super Bowl.
I will move markets today.
I mean this, I will move markets in the city beneath us down there in Nevada.
I know that will be in the next hour.
Okay, wait, wait, hold on, yeah, sorry, turn out.
Yeah, you've predicted the last three and the exact matchups.
So let's just get to that later.
I headed down to Vegas. Hold out with me.
Actually do thorough training to.
Not do that.
Oh no, no, no, no no.
I'll talk about even though they're playing here, but I will talk about.
The Usually, Peter is very modest about his accomplishen step today I just tweeted, as you were talking, Peter Schreker's super Bowl predictions are the best in the industry.
Not close.
Today he reveals who will win it all. But Peter, we save him for the grand finale. Yes, I'm batting lead off, I'm going right, let's go on right now. But you know, I actually it's funny we brought up Peter because even before I got.
Up, we've been doing this since twenty sixteen.
We picked the playoff teams and it pretty much goes the same way every time. Peter decided this year to be the student who gets extra credit, unbeknownst to the rest of the class, and instead of just announcing his playoff teams, he announced all the seedings.
This is the one. See, this is the vice is.
So I'm gonna fight. I'm gonna do extra credit. You know what I'm gonna do Right now, my friends, come over to the stairs. I'm not only gonna give you who's gonna win the Super Bowl. I'm gonna give you who's going to win every playoff game leading to the Super Bowl.
I got them all.
Let's go take notes. It's time to knock Peter off the chair. I think I can do this. So we gave the playoff teams earlier in the week, right, NFC AFC, why don't we start with my NFC Wildcard round.
Here comes, folks.
This is how it's gonna look according to my playoff teams, and this is the Wildcard round.
Yes, I have the Cardinals in there.
NFC West partner at the Rams Bears Cowboys is an awesome playoff game.
I'm totally into it.
And then Falcons forty nine ers. This is Shanahan, that's his old team, twenty eight to three. Jokes on, no, no, no, no, that's NFC wildcard round. What about that divisional round? Who's gonna win these? You don't see the one seed here? They come in off the by divisional round. Bring it up, NFC divisional round? Look at down in the NFC North going to Detroit, Detroit hosting the game.
Is this any good? We're gonna do this again, Peter? What is this? Part nine? Think you'd stadium? It's so file in that stadium.
It's right there, Niners, Rams, that's the divisional round. Would you like to see what the NFC Championship game is gonna be?
Come on, I'll show you. I have it right here. Bam, oh my, let's do it again.
Golf and McVeigh and Stafford at al in Detroit.
The NFC title game? Is that good? Is that good? I'll give you good.
Would you like to see who's going to win the NFC Who's going to be waiting to play that Super Bowl.
Against the anti champ?
Wow?
They made it.
Oh my goodness.
And if you think that's good, imagine Detroit just sitting there me and we're going to the super Bowl.
Who do we play? Great question, Detroit, great question.
Let's go to the AFC Wildcard Round. I'm giving you all the answers, not just so. Here we go Steelers Texans. Incredible game. I love this, Harvaugh versus Harvaugh.
Yes, there's Rava. Oh that's good. Then we got it first time since the super Bowl.
That's good.
A couple of buddies down here.
They always seem to be playing each other, Dolphins, Bells.
That's a wildcard round.
But who's in the divisih who's winning these games?
I don't see a Chief slugo up there. Who are they playing? The Vision round? Bring it up? Come on? Is this a good game at all? Is this this is a.
Runback one of Josh Allen's earlier playoff games against the.
Deshaun Watt Stephan Diggs ball, right, let's go step.
Back to Buffalo. Is this any good? Is this any good? Chargers? Chiefs hardball?
Read it's on and Peter yes, Sefon Diggs back to Western New York. Should we go to the AFC Title Game. Let's go to Is it any good? We're doing it?
We are doing it, Bills, Chiefs Arrowhead.
Here we go.
Who's gonna win this thing? I'll tell you who's gonna win this thing. I'll tell you the score. It's gonna be. These guys are gonna be up and the final play and they're gonna win, and they're gonna win. Twenty four twenty three, Harrison Bucker is gonna miss a fifty five yard field goal to the far right, and the Bills are going to the super Bowl.
My gosh to the far rials.
Lions build up. Ok, guys, just drink this in for a sec. Let's just sit down.
One of these teams winning, it's a guarantee.
There are no ties in the super Bowl. Detroit or Buffalo is going to win. No, no, no go back.
Detroit and Buffalo is going to win.
A super Bowl. But I know who it's gonna be.
One of these teams is gonna understand. They're gonna comprehend that you only get one shot. Do not miss your chance to blow because opportunity comes once in a lifetime. You're Super Bowl fifty nine champion.
The Detroit Wise Troit put them up. That's the Dan Man.
That is a super Bowl champ Western New York. I love you, you will have your day. But this is the Lions year. And can you imagine this red faced, vascular sob at a parade in February Lions super Bowl, Dann Man, We're.
Up that goo whoa. I don't have the script. I'd write the scritch what I'm saying to you? All right? What time's two in the morning right now? Am I Bill's Lions super Bowl? Guys? What a treat?
What an incredible thing, because you're guaranteed that there's going to be history.
Neither one of those franchises have ever won incredible. Bill's been to four, Detroit has been to zero. Can you imagine New Orleans and the streets Bourbon Street if it's Detroit fans and Buffalo fans for a full week leading up to that.
Game, completely here for two of the most deserving fan bases. They've been through hell and back. They climbed through five hundred yards of bandy do frame crap.
They've made it.
Out and one of them will be standing and then one of them will be devastated.
I have the Lions winning the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
We had to make a specific request. Did you intentionally go with the black jersey for Am Brown?
Talk to us.
There's a deep cut Metallica reference to Black End and Dan Campbell and off the Injustice for All, and this will be justice for the Lions after all of these years. I do believe Buffalo when a super Bowl this era, I do believe the Lions will win it this year.
I gotta say it. I'm gonna go off script here. I had written all this script. I realize, yeah, I gotta tear it up. I didn't realize that we had to have both teams in it.
You know, you inspired who you want, okbar right, you know, let's there's a lot of rules around here, but cons just.
Go ahead and just do it. We're gonna roll with it, all right. So I actually love your take on this. And so when you think about a coach, you think about a team, you think about a leader. You need somebody who's going to be powerful. I'm gonna go straight into the NFC. The NFC, this is a team that a lot of people have been hating on. They go, oh, yeah, they have the momentum. But when you have a coach. Give me as you guys are working on it. I'm gonna go doing push ups right here. But when you have a coach should have to.
Meet in like Dan Gamble.
I mean, I'm just gonna keep going until you get me Detroit Ryant knock them out.
I've got the Detroit Lions going to the super Bowl.
I absolutely love it. You guys are gonna make me do one hundred. We're gonna have that a long time money doing the name of God.
I cannot do this many what.
We go there? We got out the Detroit going to the super Bowl. In the NFC, now the AFC.
There's been a lot of conversation about some different teams. Kyle, you talked about the Buffalo bill Yeah, all right, that's cool. The Houston Texans. You guys know how much I love the Houston Texans. I talked about the Cleveland Browns, but they're kind of still on the way going. We'll see how they do against Dak Prescott in week one. But I want to come to this point.
Movies.
We all heard here that the sequels aren't really the thing.
Sure, I disagree.
You ever watch a good trilogy?
Yeah?
Yeah, sure, Star Wars okay, is it to you?
Star Wars? The very first Star Wars was a new hope, and a.
New hope gives everybody like yeah, you get excited about it, and then you see everything that happens and you go, now, how the heck can they redo this?
Huh?
They come back with what Kyle?
The Empire strikes back at such five?
Empire strikes back, and sure enough they strike back. I think you're starting to get the feel of where I'm going with this one right the third one Star Wars?
What was that one?
Return of the Jedi? You are following me? You do know where I'm going with this. Ladies and gentlemen, get your popcorn ready, because none other than.
The Kansas City Chiefs who are gonna be I'm going I don't need a sweat shirt.
I'm going Chris Jones dominating on defense. I've got the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Detroit Lines in the Super Bowl. There it is number ninety five. You thought I was gonna wear an offensive player jersey, but I decided to go, Oh.
Here we go right here, reds here it is right here. This is the Super Bowl. How did you tear this thing off? You tore it right down the middle of that one over there. Well, this is mine.
It's somewhere else up your laundry car.
This doesn't it's not ripped. Yeah, look at that thing. All right, but in the stone call Jones.
Here we go.
This is Super Bowl right here, and I'm gonna show you how it's done right here.
All right?
You ready, what are we doing?
All right?
What doing?
Sign a waiver? First? I've been around the block a few times on that one. Jeez, the trilogy.
But cool, that's it, the trilogy right there. I keep using that term, the trilogy. I hope that it sticks.
Good morn.
I've spent so much time I'm studying this team. These teams, spend so much time with them that at this point I think we'd kill at family feud. On one side, I've got to one of the oldest franchises in NFL history. It's like your great grandpa holding court in his rocking chair, waiting for someone to engage with him about the early years, the back in my days. Conversely, I've got a team in their late twenties. They show up at Thanksgiving and with their fancy job, and all they can talk about is how to beat that other crazy talented guy in their department at the next big promotion.
Let's see my teams. It's my matchup.
What's the matchup, Jamie, my matchup? Oh, it's a good one.
Okay.
We're just one big Matthew family. This is my team, my family member in their late twenties.
This is my grandpap and his rocking chair.
Right, let's inspect some of our family trees, shall we.
I start with the head coaches.
Matt Lafleura Laflora is like that uncle who was dating Miss Wisconsin.
This was a big deal for him.
She's beautiful, she was mysterious, the kind of person your dad would say wow.
When they talk.
People, Listen, Uncle Matt was sailing in life. But then she went to go compete at Miss USA in New York City and she.
Never came back.
I was worried about Uncle Matt, truly and how we would recover from this. But then there was always this other friend in his group, and frankly, Miss Wisconsin used to say, you smile too much when.
You talk about her. Well, those two are together.
Now.
It's not just a rebound. This is the real thing.
Uncle Matt is glowing and we could not be happier for him. On the AFC side of the family tree, you have Uncle John Harbaugh.
Think of this guy as the.
One who's got the sports car, the house down the shore. He's made a killing in the market and says things like, oh, I'm on the board of a few charitable foundations.
Essentially, he's accomplished a lot.
But gosh, when you catch up with him at the cooler and you're both reaching for a natty bow, it seems like he's still unfulfilled, searching for more accolades, titles, or trophies to put in his zoom background of his calls. Let's look at the quarterbacks. You got Jordan Love and themar Jackson. These two are your really cool cousins that you grew up with in this small town. They both went on to play D one basketball. You always thought of them as the biggest deal.
They're gonna kill it.
But then you watch their highlights at the next level and they are constantly overshadowed and overpowered by two stars from the powerhouse high school down the street, the big time programs. These cousins need an opportunity to show your family that they are bigger than this place, and they deserve to stand alone in the spotlight. Defensively, you got a bunch of ankle biers running around, nieces, nephews, your own little sibling Rokwan, Rashan, Jai or Kyle. They will just whack you right in the shins with a toy golf club and run away with fleet defenses that will pull the chair out from underneath you, and then high five each.
Other when you eat it. Family is complicated. Football season is two.
I will undoubtedly commit to these two logos and then be in a full blown panic about their trajectory by week ten. But I will love them through and through like I do family. All this being said, nostalgia from your pop pop is nice. It's really nice to listen to. And we are thrilled that Uncle Matt is. He lost Miss Wisconsin, but.
He is thriving in his new relationship.
But this season, I roll with the team that brings crabcakes to the reunion. Lamar Jackson will get his bowmen next February. He's got Derrick Henry, He's got Mark Andrews, He's got an unstoppable defense. But Zave Flowers, who I think understands this parallel better than most, with nine brothers and four sisters who will play a massive role in this Baltimore Ravens offense this season, and he will help win a title for the Baltimore Ravens in New Orleans. Okay, next Rebulary, Welcome to my family, Baltimore Ravens.
I have a little bit of confession to make.
Yeah, Jamie, you were in the sweatshirt on and as you got up, I did see a little hint of it, and I.
Said, oh my god, oh my god, Jamie.
Ertol's picking the Vikings to win Super Bowl. I saw purple, and I thought she was gonna do it. And I was like, I cannot wait to hear this explanation.
What a choice. I was actually relieved.
I think Ravens awesome, awesome, and I love the day Flowers.
I have some thoughts here.
Okay, the last time there was a Super Bowl in New Orleans, the Baltimore Ravens won it in two thousand. The Baltimore Ravens won it in twenty twelve, the Baltimore Ravens won it twelve years later, it would be twenty twenty four. Well, the Baltimore Ravens have this twelve year thing where every twelve years they win. And I love the family tie and we know about his thirteen siblings. He made a great analogy. And I think Ravens fans are freaking out right now. Crabcakes, Jimmy Seafood, send him over.
Let's go exactly. Natty bow is everything.
And I thought I was gonna go Laflora has a brother that's a coordinator in Harboro's got a brother. No, I went full blown family tree, pretend dynamic. And I'm sorry that you lost Miss Wisconsin, Uncle Matt, but like you'll be fine, You'll be back right.
Also, like now that Jamie's like a southern California girl. Every once in a while, Midwest Jamie comes out when she says things like pop pop and things like that, and we love that Midwest Jamie.
Right.
So it's a great pick you had the Ravens. It's awesome.
That's Ravens Packers is a great super Bowl Thanks two franchises that matter. Let's just have a nice moment of silence transition right now.
Okay, I want the viewers to.
Understand the lights. But it's not that dramatic, right.
It's pretty dramatic it is. I want the viewers to understand Peter did earlier.
Peter, do you need the escort?
Do you need security? You want anything?
Everybody in the industry today, it's my superpig.
Is this?
None of them, including them, the three of ours, have anything to say when it comes to comparing theirs to Peters. Peters is the industry standard. He is the highest hit rate. He knows how to do this. What he's about to say right now will happen. This is not a prediction, This is a guarantee. Peter, take it away. Wow, what a Super Bowl pick day. It's special. It's an annual tradition on good morning football. And again, give them the floor, give five the floor.
This is this is where Peter Cooks.
Give them the appreciate your health and your security. But I'm good.
It's an annual tradition on morning football, and for me it has actually taken a bit of a life of its own. If you'll indulge me, I would like to show you something. Enjoy the following look back in Time, Miss Folks says six years worth of soothsaying on NFL Kickoff Thursday.
Take a watch.
I think the Chiefs finally get over the hump, finally get into the Super Bowl, and I think Andy finally gets a chance to go and go face to face with another coach other than Bill Belichick in the biggest game of his career.
Super Bowl fifty four.
Fifty years the chief would have waited to get to this point.
Guess who I have representing the National Football Conference in the Super Bowl.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. All the Super Bowl champs about them Bucks.
This year's Super Bowl champion feature a quarterback who has yet to win.
An NFL playoff.
I'm taking the Los Angeles Rams to take this thing home and this guy to cement his place in NFL history.
The Los Angeles Rams, our world champion.
The winner a Super Bowl fifty seven in Glendale, Arizona this February will.
Be kanas City Chiefs, led by linebacker Nick Did he kicks the ball gets checked up by Kansas City.
For the second time in four seasons, the Lombardy Trophy as a red and gold.
Reflection the Kansas City Chiefs will yet again be your Super Bowl champion.
Jack Park, Kansas City.
Wow, all right, it's over the last six years I've been money on my Super Bowl picks. I've had either the exact sable matchup that's been multiple times one of the two participants, or I've gone three for three, which is matchup and winner. I have successfully picked the last three Super Bowl champions with pinpoint precision and just enough arrogance where there are a lot of people who just root against me. But it has also crept into my personal life. You see, my wife shall post a photo of our beautiful baby daughter on Instagram. In the first coming, I will be Who's Peter taking to win the Super Bowl? All he had school pickup for my seven year old son mel and a teacher will pull me aside. I'm like, oh no, what do you do here? Who you got this year? I take this all very seriously. I dedicate my entire summer to getting these picks to a place where I feel comfortable enough to go on national TV, share them, and then pin them to my social media platforms right there on top, showing you cards on the table. Whether it's worth hanging my hat on or not. My super Bowl matchup and my picks.
We'll move markets today.
I mean this.
It is a burden, it is a responsibility, and if I'm being honest.
It's an absolute freaking pleasure.
Yeah, So who's going this year? Come with me?
Come with me here, We're going on the big board. All right, let's start in the NFC.
See, the NFC, in my eyes, has just only six to seven teams that can legitimately make a run this year. The team I'm selecting to represent the conference has all the pieces that I love in a Super Bowl contender. They have an ascending quarterback, they have emerging stars on both sides of the ball, and they have just enough playoff experience that they could say they have been there and done that. They also have a coach with something that his peers have that he does not on their resumes.
The NFC will be represented by.
Ah Wow, Jordan Love, Matt Lafleur, and the Green Bay Packers. I'm gonna go one step further here on this prediction. Put this in print. They're going into a wild card team just like the Rogers team did so many years, and to make this run, the Packers head coach Matt Lafleur is going to take his team and they're going to go on the road and beat his old buddy Sean McVay in LA. It's going to go on the road and beat the rival Lions in Detroit. And then he's going to go on the road and beat his former colleague and his nemesis, Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco.
The Packers are going back to New Orleans where they won a Super Bowl twenty eight years ago. And who will they face? Well, heay, here we go.
They're gonna face the same team the Fackers franchise faced in.
Super Bowl One.
They're the most dominant team of this era and they are a squad that has helped define a generation of football fans.
They're facing the Kansas City Chiefs.
You know.
Since the merging of the AFL and the NFL, no team has won three Super Bowls in a row.
Ever, eight different teams have tried.
The sixties Packers.
Won the first two Super Bowls, but after Lombardi stepped away, they couldn't win one more. The Steelers had the opportunity two different times in the seventies, but they came up short both times. The forty nine Ers nearly did it in the late eighties, but they ran into a red hot Giants team and lost in Candlestick.
The nineties Cowboys they won three of four but they didn't win three straight.
The Broncos got two but not three, and then the Patriots came up short twenty years ago. That's eight legendary teams, eight teams that the NFL Films archives have built theirselves on, and all eight of those teams are zero four eight.
So I ask you at home, is this Chiefs team special?
Can this Chiefs team make history? Rather recently, in other sports, the Bulls have completed a three peat twice. The Yankees did it in New York and baseball, and the Lakers did it here in LA with Shaq and Kobe.
But in football, three super Bowls in a row.
It's unprecedented. It's unchartered territory. The Packers are going to be a mighty opponent. They're going to come in red hot, and I don't see a three peat happening. No, I don't, because three pet that term has been used time and time again, and if I'm being honest, it is not fitting for a team as historic and as unique and as incredible as this one. It's simply not dignified or special enough a term three peak.
Get that out the window, ladies and gentlemen.
The winner of Super Bowl fifty nine and doing so against the winners of the first two Super Bowls.
Ever, will be the team that completes.
The Chiefs.
The chief speet three in a row, chefet three in a row.
The Chiefs in the City does it again.
Another ring, Another Super Bowl MVP for this guy, and the Chief's pete is completed in glorious fashion. February ninth and New Orleans and the greatest team to ever take the field in any era, in any generation wins three in a row on Fox with Tom Brady on the call.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Chiefs are doing it again. It is the Chiefs pete.
Take that three peet term and throw it in the garbage.
We've got our NFL version of the greatest single team of all time.
Three in a row.
Kansas City Chiefs, mahomes read Kelsey, they get the job done.
Hey what.
I don't like that three peep everyone else has three peet.
Great job, Peter, I like that one. Unbelievable heats Peter.
There, it is like I just saw like this great film. You know how you feel. I'm an I know you really are.
Can I dive into your brain?
Peter, God bless you come on.
So did you did you want to start there? You started with the Chiefs and then did you try to find any opponent that could take them down?
Or did you work in the.
Opposite way where you truly did the bracket and you landed on the Chiefs.
The method to the madness is always unique. I have been very high in the New York Jets all summer. I have the Jets is the one seed. It's means the Chiefs have to go on the road and beat them. This team the way they handled this offseason, enjoying it, leaning into it.
Andy Reid, letting them be themselves.
I see no tension, I see no stress, and I see that this thing is written. I think they are going to get the thing done. And I know it might be boring at home, it might be stock. I think it's just the opposite. I think it's it's precedent setting. I think it's history, and I think what we're watching right now in this era with the competition, that.
The way it is, we should embrace it and we should root it on because I think this Chiefs team is magical. It's such a trendy name Chiefs.
Pete, how did you come up with.
That because three Peete was already trademark. We want it played out, so has Chief Speed.
I looked it up and Chief Speed.
It's cool, it runs, Chief pet Let's make it. Let's make a trend.
Chief.
If it was the Broncos trying to do it, wouldn't play as well Broncos, Pete.
As it pertains to your legacy of predictions.
Really, what it's hanging on right here is that Packers pick too, because if you even nailed both of them, now maybe the Chiefs will do it.
But I know you want the hole in Shalada. Oh doubt so that one.
In my opinion, just watching you, I feel like you struggled more with your NFC pick landing on the Packers.
How'd you get that.
Lost sleep on this?
And it came down to four teams if I'm being honest, it was Packers, Lions, two Powers in the NFC North, and then I really fell for the Rams and Niners in a way where I'm like, if.
Just go Niners, it's a repeat.
I went with the Packers the sending team, and Laflour's got a story to right too. Remember Kyle Shanahan's been to the Big Game. Mcveigh's been to the big game. All these guys that he worked with and grew up with in the coaching ranks, he still hasn't gotten to the chip, hasn't gotten to the Super Bowl.
I think he's going to shock the world.
This year when we've got Week one here, We've got the Packers against the Eagles. Do you ever look at the first game and go, oh boy, I got this right, or oh boy, I got this role.
I don't even check in until late December. I remember last year the Chiefs were a five seed, and to pat myself on the back, and I was debating it took him to win in Buffalo, in Baltimore and then whoever's hot at the right time, and the Chiefs have been there, done that. I don't worry about September October though.
The wild thing, as you said, Brady on the call, isn't that nuts. It's nuts because when Mahomes gets that ring, every topic of conversation is going to be Mahomes, Brady, Mahomes, Brady.
He's gonna run him down. He's to go.
Mahomes will have four by the age of thirty.
It is ridiculous. It's ridiculous.
Also would be Evan, you know, eighteen and three in the it's everyone's like, no one all to be Brady.
Here we are, let's go, let's talk about it.
I think Brady being on the call for mahomes some ever, Chief Speed you would be incredible.
As shocking challenge like here's your first job in TV. Like put this into historical context and compare it to yourself.
Right, that's it, good mom.
In no further ado, we want to welcome the Commissioner of the League, Roger Goodell.
Why Roger this morning?
Hey guys, so going to have you?
How are you? You look great? We're so fired up. What a spectacular opening game.
We're fresh off it.
We had it a whole fifteen minutes to talk about it, to break it down.
Where did you watch it?
What was your reaction to an amazing NFL kickoff last evening?
Well, we had a little watch party here in Brazil, so I watched the first half there and then I went upstairs and I watched it on my laptop and I couldn't put it away.
I kept saying I got to get up early.
But it was a fantastic finish.
I was to nail. Rarely is we went around the show.
To start the show, Roger and all established what our shoe sizes were, because everyone's talking about Isaiah Likely's shoe size.
If it was one size smaller.
The AFC might have a different home field advantage in a few months.
But listen, you were in Brazil. We're so excited that you're there. It is the first Friday.
Night game during opening weekend and more than in fifty years, and the first ever in South America. Roger with the whole globe to look at what led us as a league to South America and specifically Brazil.
Well, I think the fan base, you know, we want to go where the fans are, where we think a game will really catapult that kind of momentum, and I think that's what will happen here. You know, the fans here are just going crazy. I think we're getting people who aren't really fans who are interested in saying what's going on. And you know, the fans here are so passionate about the game, and I think having a chance to have it in their stadium will be in the Corinthians Stadium, a very high profile, famous stadium, and I think it's going to be a much different atmosphere that you get with an NFL game if you do with soccer. So I think the reaction is going to be extraordinary and really help us continue our efforts to make this game global.
You know, we've seen it move from Europe to South America. Now are their plans maybe perhaps to take it on another continent, especially with the explosion of African players in the NFL. Are there any thoughts of maybe playing it in on the continent of Africa.
Absolutely, you know, we're doing more and more in Africa on a development of players. Ocier Menro has done fantastic job of that. But we're also we feel like this game is destined to be global. We expect to be in Asia soon, we expect to be in Australia. We're going to make sure that our game is available around the globe, and I think the ownership have been great on that. You know, they've they've passed a resolution where every team is obligated to play. We're going to have eight games a year minimum, and if we do get to an eighteen and two games a season, we likely will see even more international games. And I hope someday we'll be playing sixteen it's.
Incredible and we love hearing that. You know how much we love football, Roger, You know how much. Also at this table we like to talk about sometimes off the wall things.
We were talking about you this morning. We're thinking you got about a ten hour flight to Brazil. We're dying to know Roger.
Yeah, well, ye watching this film, we want to know what does Roger Goodell do on a ten hour flight?
Are you just knocking out books? Are you in movies? What do you do?
You know?
It was funny because we had more Philadelphia Eagles fan on our flight that I can tell you.
It was incredible. They were all over the plate.
As soon as the flight attendant finished with their usual speech about safety, it was fly, Eagles, fly, and all over the plane and everyone just say. And it was an overnight flight, so I was wondering how long this is going to go. But they were wonderful. It was really great to see that kind of passion. But I usually try to catch up on reading when I'm on a long flight like that, I would like to catch up on a little sleep, and I had a little luck with.
That on the way down.
So good for you. Well, it was fun, Roger.
I got to give you your flowers here. As you just mentioned, you are a man of the people. You do take the commercial flights to these international ones. And I know this because you and I were on the same flight from Munich back to New York City two years ago. And you guys know what this man did. First of all, you walk down the aisle and you're like, Wow, that is my.
Boss's boss's boss's boss. Am I supposed to be asleep?
He's not sleeping.
I gotta stay away.
He stands me a baggage claim.
And I sleep almost the entire time. This man waits for me a baggage claim. And would you not know what? My bag was the last one to come around the end.
And Roger, He's like, and you're good, I'm going to go home.
That's a cool story right there.
That's a cool story.
Yeah.
But I got to tell you just to make it clear, though, Jamie did not have any problem falling asleep.
I promise you.
I don't think I don't think my presence changed that at all.
Great, that's valid.
That's valid.
Hey, So you know I want to talk to you about flag football. You know we've been talking a lot about flag football on this show and the fact that it's going to be a part of the Olympic program in LA twenty eight. How important is flag football's growth of the game around the world.
I think it's really important. One.
I love the fact that it can allow women to participate in our sport and play our sport. That's where the real growth is coming so dramatically. Is it's now a chance for them. They can get in there and mix it up. And we've seen some great athletes on a global basis that love this game. I think it's just creating more and more interest. If you play the game, obviously you're more likely to be a fan, and so I think this is going to bring generations to new fans.
I think the Olympics is.
Going to capture even more fans in that period of time because you know, that's where global sports are played, and now play football is there. So I think it's really important for us to give people a chance to play. And I'm also a big fan of kids participating in sports.
I think the more kids that do that, the better off they are.
No doubt, we're all parents and young kids.
There's an explosion of flag football everywhere across our country and of course it's international as well. Last night was the first time we saw in a regular season game the dynamic kickoff for rules played out. It's the latest example of how our sport continues to evolve. We'll gets excited when people ask you about the future of the NFL and the future of the way the game is played, as the dynamic kickoff is just one piece and what are so many new additions to the NFL season this year?
Well, I think the game itself, as you know, Peter, I get so much attention all the way through the season.
We're making notes.
We go with the Competition Committee with coaches, and we really work hard every year to look at rules that we think can make the game more exciting or are going to make the game safer, and sometimes both. I think the dynamic kickoff is one of those we wanted to bring the kickoff back. I think this play will have an impact. It's already I think the average start line is probably going to be much closer to the thirty yard line. I think we will see longer kickoff returns, but everyone's getting used to it and it's going to take an adjustment. So we're not making any judgments about this after one game or after pre season. We're going to let it play out over the season and see how it works. But I do think it will have an impact on the game, and I think we'll have to figure out next phases of that.
How do we bring the outside kickback in.
There are a lot of.
Things that they come out of this that I think we want to make sure every aspect of our game is fun, exciting, leads to greater competition, and is safer for our game, no.
Doubt, and for our players, no doubt.
We're in the media world here, we're at this table. We'll do it every morning, Brady and Belichick joining the ranks of the media. Any reactions and early thoughts of those two faces now as media darlings, you know.
I talked to Tom last week. I talked to Bill a few weeks ago. I think they're going to add a different perspective to the game. I mean, they're so excited about sharing what they were seeing when they were playing or they were coaching, and I think for fans to be able to get that perspective, it's going to be a joy for them.
They're both hard workers, as you know.
We can't get Bill out of the NFL film facility. He's down there, he's looking at tape.
He's there all day long.
But I think that is great for our fans to be able to see what Bill is seeing through his eyes, and that will be great.
And Tom, you know, Tom comes up to the line.
The things he's looking at you don't hear about, and I think you're going to hear about it from Tom Brady, So we're excited about it. I think it's great development.
It really is. Brady Colling Brown's Cowboys.
This weekend, Roger, we are starting our ninth season as Good Morning Football, representing this league, and we just want to thank you so much. We're so excited to be at this Brexit table talking football every single morning, even if we're a little crazy sometimes. So thank you, Roger.
I appreciate you well.
I look forward to here to every morning.
I'm sorry that the time converting out to LA took longer than it did, but we're glad you're back on and every morning that's where I go.
So thank you us too.
Enjoy yourself, enjoy the game.
Thank you so much.
There we go, good mon
