Good Morning Football.

Listen. If you're a fan of football, welcome to our show. It's called Good Morning Football. If you're a fan of beef turkey, you love our show too. Because we're presented by Old Trapper. We're live in Los Angeles. This is Isaiah Standback. I'm Jamie her at All. There's Peter Schrager, there is Kyle Brandt. I always like this time mid September. It kind of becomes the strange scheduling matrix, Peter, where two teams play each other. It feels like they're going on opposite directions, all of the Saints and the Cowboys. I always want to see what happens the next weekend. That's where we begin with our lead.

Luck All right, here we go, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson. We've been looking forward to this one. Lamar owns the NFC. If that's interesting to you. It's a really impressive nugget. Look at CD on the sideline, animated talking frustrated on ten points or three minutes to go?

Can they make this a game?

Yeah? They're playing the Ravens late of course.

They can make it a game. Comeante Turpin.

On a personal note, I think my favorite cowboy, like I've always liked to come on ten makes plays twenty eight, twenty five.

Look at Baltimore having to close this thing out.

Lamar, get to the sticks, burst down Baltimore. Sean Harbaugh gets a really tough win. Mike McCarthy takes another loss. It feels like that week one went over the Browns is a long time ago.

They can about twenty eight points.

The game got close late because Baltimore struggles there, but they did lead seemingly start to finish and the Ravens finally feels.

Like get a win.

Dereck Henry talked about it afterwards.

You know, you know, I hold myself to a high standard and I definitely wanted to come out here and be able to have an impact to give us a chance to win right away. I played, and you know, I feel like the first you know, the first two weeks, you know, kind of got going a little slow. But like I said, we all tied in together. You know, we all just want to come out here and execute and be able to win. And we did that today. But being in Dallas and you know, this is what off season is. Will I spend you know, most of my time in the off season. It feel a little good today, So.

Yeah, for sure, did I feel like? There was a very strange smirk on his face when he started to say, well, being in Dallas is where I train in the off season, and the Ravens now take home their first victory of the season. I'll be honest. On Saturday, amongst my family in my house, I was calling this the Desperation Bowl, just like, who needs this worse? And it seemed like the Ravens did Peter even though they wanted to cough it up at the end. Pretty cool outing for Baltimore and not so great for DLS.

I'm going to start on the Baltimore side of things because it's hysterics in Philly last week, it's hysterics in.

Dallas, and we've got all these things.

It was hysterics in Baltimore too, because it looked like the Ravens were going to give this season away in the fourth quarter time and time again. Last week's game we might look back as one of the most inexplicable losses of the season for any team to be up ten in the fourth quarter at home against a Raiders team being led by Gardner Minshew, and to lose that game and to see the numbers that it happened time and time again under these.

John Harbaugh coach teams, you started wondering is it going to happen again? Is it going to happen again?

Because they were up the entire game here and all of a sudden, it's a three point game.

And I go to the final drive and Lamar.

Jackson finally said enough is enough, Enough is enough?

Final drive here, here's the play.

It's third and six, Lamar, fourth quarter, two minutes left, and say, Flowers makes the catch, convert it. Okay, you got to make one more conversion than you could take knees in this thing, and we could shut everybody up, we could stop questioning Harball. And second and nine, it's Lamar Jackson who just gets to the first out. And I don't think the Ravens have ever felt better taking knees to finish a game than after this play right here. It keeps the Pirates at bay for another week. It keeps that criticism of these guys in the late games not being able to close out away for another month. It's one of those deals where every Ravens observer was saying, why can't we win, why can't we put these game? And they almost gave it away again and Lamar was like, no, no, no, not this time.

So we'll talk Cowboys plenty.

But the Ravens finding a way to hold on to a lead and close out a team on the road, I think it's important. And Lamar Jackson got it done when they needed most.

By his fingertips on the run option. That's what Lamar Jackson said convincingly. No, I will take this ball back. Isaiah. Last week you were on this show at this time, you gave a state of the nation, and I believe you began that with the Cowboys saying it's going to be okay, update us please.

Yeah.

So I said that with something on the back end of that. I said, it's going to be okay if they can figure out this run defense, right, but if it was a fifth okay, if they can go ahead and take it to run defense. Well, they did not take care of the run defense. And the stats backed up my statement. Looking what is going on here in Dallas, Okay, they are averaging this is an average over the last two games allowing two hundred and thirty two yards per game on the ground. That's an average that wasn't just waiting because of this week. Last week was bad too. They've allowed seven rushing touchdowns on the ground. You gotta see the plus ten yard runs there, and you gotta see the Russian average.

Listen, it's even worse than that. Okay.

Over the last two weeks, there has been seventy two points allowed against the Dallas Cowboy defense. Again, sev seventy two points allowed, eighty seven percent conversion in the red zone. Of the sixty plays that the Baltimore Ravens ran yesterday offensively, seventy five percent of those plays were runs.

I feel like you're looking at me trying to convince me of the numbers. I believe you like I saw it.

I just want you to digest these numbers. Just let a marine. Okay, just let a marine.

Kay.

So sixty plays, forty five of those players were runs. For anybody who's ever played Madden out there, okay, Oh.

My man, you ever played Maden before? Yeah? Okay, so you.

Played madd Have you ever played an opponent where they just run the ball everyplay and it doesn't matter what deep iss you select you just can't stop them. That's exactly what King Henry in this offense that the Baltimore Ravens did yesterday. They have some issues going on in Dallas right now. I'm I'm gonna call a spade a spade. Okay, yes last week, what I sat here, I said it was gonna be Okay, if now all of a sudden, I want you to look at the body language of Ceedee Lamb. Okay, Ceedee Lamb had has got his money now, Okay, Dak Prescott got his money. Both of your guys that you're looking forward to be able to control and run your offense are now frustrated. Okay, Dak's trying to hold it together and try to remain a leader. Ceedee Lamb did not have his best game yesterday. He's sitting up there throwing him doing body bad body language, hitting his hands.

On the ground.

Okay, he fumbled all right, Obviously he dropped passes, and then he has a nerve to sit up there and curse at his quarterback on the sideline, something that.

You can't have. Okay. Your teammates are watching that, and then you look.

At it defensively Michael Parsons trying his best not to point the finger, but all he can take responsibility for is himself. He's trying to do this. We wi wi try to speak French, okay, But at the end of the day, all right, these guys all have to step up and take care of their individual responsibilities. Last week there was concerns about Mike Zimmer and his insulation of this defense. Now there's a major alert. I have taken the the clear cover off of the button in my head is hovering, is hovering over the red hot button right now that they have a showing like this again, there's gonna be some questions.

Now, well, that's good to know the hovering Isaiah.

I gotta go back to you.

What did you think when you saw a CD and the sideline yelling like he did, because I saw him having a pretty big fumble in the red zone, and I'm sure he's frustrated. But like you, as a guy who covers the team as closely as you did, what's you think of this? Get into this emotionally?

Yeah, emotionally, And I just talked about it from the standpoint of I played both quarterback and receiver, right, so from from a quarterback standpoint. You're gonna always take the You're gonna always take the fall.

For your guys. Right, it's always my fault, right, put it on me.

But what you can't do as my receiver or any other position, is caught me out on the sideline. Right, if I'm under throwing the ball and you have no understanding the fact that I am getting pressured and hit in the back of my head while I'm throwing this ball, and maybe that's the reason why it's underthrown. You cannot go out there and have these explicitives on the sideline and all the bad body language and wind they're hitting your hand on the ground and all the other things that are Toddler's Do you got a taller Yeah, can't do those things on the slide because guess what now it makes me look bad. And we could have had a man and man conversation. You're supposed to be a leader. We gave you the check to be able to be the leader of that room, and now all of a sudden you're making this thing where now we.

Have to sit up here and talk about it.

It's incredible to take Isaiah. I love the passion you have for it. I also love the passion that Rdoll has. Not only did she give this game a nickname, she's talking about it with her family on Saturday around the house.

Ravens Cowboys, Jamie, you are so.

Married to the game.

You're like the day before, not even Sunday.

You're coming up with nicknames for games with your family and your small children.

You are into it.

That's all I got is parenting toddlers who act like sometimes players on the sidelines. And I'm talking about the schedule. I got week three, I got week four, Kyle. I'm constantly prepared for answering any questions. Speaking of the Cowboys are in a short week, which sometimes when tempers are flaring, that doesn't bode well because you don't have a lot of time to turn this thing around emotionally. And the Ravens are hosting the Bills next weekend. It's already fun and I am going to be talking about that game on Saturday. That's a game I know exactly, But we have games tonight. Ian rap is joining us now. He's got news from around the league again, putting a bow on what happens Saturday and looking ahead to two games on Monday night. Football, Ian, where do you take us?

First?

A couple of significant injuries situations to watch, one that has now finally cleared up and essentially resolved itself. T Higgins, the star receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, who tweaked at hamstring right before the start of the season, missed the first two games in what has been a pretty uneven I think it's fair to say Cincinnati Bengals offense.

He is back.

Tonight was a full go at practice. He is off the injury report, as Zach Taylor, the head coach, said, good to go, great week of practice. You have Jamar Chase, who is now over a contract squabble from the Offseason's kind of worked himself back where he needs to be and now a full strength T Higgins. Very good news for Cincinnati. Not as good news for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Remember last week before the game, their standout tight end Evan Ingram heard his hamstring was ruled out before the game even started. Still not back yet, has been out tonight. Potentially next week he'd be good to go, But we know the Jaguars are not going to have one of their top weapons tonight.

All right, Ian, we appreciate you so much, and I have news of my own that I can like just when whenever I do this, like, just look at Ian make sure I'm doing it properly. Akbar Budjaby Miller, who normally sits to my left where I say, is today he is off doing his other job, which we know, we love him from and people know from American Ninja Warriors. So you're going to see him on that next summer, I believe. So that's where he is for the next week or two still to come. Did I do that right in? Like he is absent, but he will return to us here on GMFB.

He didn't say sources.

I am the source.

Of officially official Akbar is in the desert. The Rams were depleted. They rallied there. Looks like they're playing for their coach. Stafford looked great. Sean McVay is so fun. How about the NFC West yesterday, I called this the Injury Bowl yesterday, Kyle, I was just giving names to get to.

Jamy just sitting around coming up with gold, gold appropriate.

How about the Dalton Bowl the Red Rifle. Andy Dalton's like, all right, let me give you this thing A shot.

I played a few games in this league, and he just looked awesome.

You'd lit it up.

We're talking Panthers, let's go Unfortunately, we're talking Raiders. Hell of a sound by coming from after the game. If you didn't see it from the head coach, we'll get into it.

Good Mona, Carolina Panthers with the most controversial decision of the season, benching that guy just two weeks into the year.

It was kind of go for broke mode, right.

If Dalton falls on his face, what are we doing?

Well?

What happens if it goes the other way?

What if Dalton looks.

Amazing, Antonio appears is shell shocked?

What just happened?

Here's Andy Dalton after the Panthers got their first victory of the season.

And it feel great, obviously for me, opportunity to be out there and for it to go the way it did and up any better. I thought our guys came out with the right attitude, the right mentality from the start, and we never slowed down. And that was the fun part about it is it wasn't we just we didn't just put one drive together.

We're able to do it.

The whole game played complimentary football and guys were guys were having a ton of fun, and that's how it should be.

It was I think there was definitely some individuals that made business decisions and will make business decisions going forward as well. I think that one thing I've always said and spoken to you gentlemen about Ladies is being consistent. It wasn't we're here right now and that's that's that's not what we're fighting for. It as that we're striving for. And it showed up today. And you know, if I can say I saw it coming, I would have told you that, But I didn't see that coming. And think you since the play is you know something we just got Costa Key working on.

You know, there was something I felt like I was missing so far this season. It wasn't Andy Dalton having a comeback game. It wasn't a spicy quote from a head coach. No, it was the hook and ladder play design by Den Johnson. What what that is? Sarah Goff hitting a'm on ross Saint Brown, who then laterals it to Jamior Gibbs. Seriously, Clion's just messing around in September and then when they're in the Super Bowl, they're gonna be like God, Now we gotta open this playbook and prepared offensively for a hook and ladder. Kyler Murray doing all he can to get Marvin Harrison Junior going in this game. Kyler Murray is saying, I cannot believe the Lions have come in, avoiding back to back losses. Lions win at twenty to thirteen. Kyle, how did that make you feel?

Feels good? Niners? Rams? There they are the dog brothers. The two of those guys go way back.

Mcveigh's never started Ohn three ever and brock Perdy was excellent in this game, hold on a second less than.

Two to play twenty four to twenty four.

But this is Xavier Smith, undrafted brook.

Out of Florida, aam with his first professional touch down.

The sideline, on his own.

Sideline as the Rams go absolutely nuts, and he puts them in play in a game when he feels goal but first the needs and yards.

Even in this day and age, you can't make for him this far Stafford throws.

It's gonna be incomplete devit.

The flab is not turned around.

They got the call that the Falcons didn't get later last night, and that.

Was the right call. Kyle mad hair good but mad.

He's like, are we gonna really lose this game?

Kyle, I hate to tell you you are because we love field goals here in Good Morning Football and there is Joshua Cardi, Peter, you gonna talk about Carty?

I actually will?

Okay, you will?

Heeter As Carti takes coming up shortly, the Rams get off the ground to win and avoid all the lit's stabber had a badass look.

Holy sh yeah, I tell you that was yeah, oh yeah, no, that was what a job by our group. Just continuing to battle, continuing to fight, and you know, there's a lot of guts, there's a lot of resilience in this group and it's just one game. But I'm really proud of them. I'm really proud of them for a lot of the things that went into it. Guys that had to step up. I thought special teams was a huge edge for us today.

Weirdly, that's exactly how Kyle Shanahan's hearted to his prest conference. But when the tone changes, it means a little differently. You know, like there was thrill for McVeigh in the way that his team handled business down stretch. So go ahead and start your press conference. Off with the bleep moment is a massive comeback for NFC West rivals between the Rams and the forty nine ers. Peter, do you take us as the rookie kicker right away? Where you go?

I could take you to Josh Cart who's a fifth round pick out of Stanford who makes the big kick, And I think it kind of is a good microcosm for the performance as a whole. You know, when you lose Cup and you lose Nikua, and you lose note Boom and you lose a Villa and everyone says you're zero and two, you're done. Like that's where McVeigh thrives and it's a way that he pours into the young players. This game was not about just Karen Williams and Stafford and McVeigh, which are gonna get the headlines, but we're talking about a fifth round pick making a clutch kick in Cardi, but also Jordan Whittington stepping up as as a late round pick out of Texas, Isaiah Sorry, Xavier Smith undrafted the big punt return, and then you got the two rookies that were playing great on defense all day in Fisk and Verse, they were down twenty one to seven with six minutes left in this game, and they didn't give up.

They didn't quit. And I'll tell you it's talking to McVeigh during the.

Week, like they looked at this as this is this could be the season, guys, and they poured it into the younger players, like there is no tainted version or tainted vision of.

The NFL for those guys.

They're all rookies, undrafted, some of them drafted in the first, second, fit round, whatever. But this is your team. This isn't the rams of old. Go and make the most of the opportunity. And when it mattered most they did. We always talk about quarterbacks and coaches and Kyle, we've been big on this. You don't want to bet against McVeigh and Stafford when their backs are against the wall.

Well, I can't express to you the difference between oh and three and one and two.

It is a chasm of difference.

Oh and three, goodbye.

It's just the stats bear it out, the optics and editorially you're just not talked about it anymore. And you know that you're done when oh and three. You can go back in at one and two. And the fact that the team is so young, it has so many experienced guys. Maybe even helps when you get down on this because you're like, I'll just keep playing. I'm trying to make this team. I'm a punt returner who's never touched the ball before. I'm not going to give up. You know, you saw the Raiders and their head coach accusing him of making business decisions and wanting to get the hell off the field. We had none of that with the Rams. And I will just say it again, I think Sean McVay is the best coach in the NFL. I think he is the best football coach in the world. And I thought this was proof of that. He doesn't have the team right now. He doesn't have the horses. Neither did Kyle, who won. Sean came back and won. This is a big deal for them. It was like, these two guys play all the time. They have a ton of history they've played when they have all their stars, and now it's like, Kyle, let's do one where we don't have.

Any of our players. Take them all out and see how this goes.

Like, let's just find out how it goes. Like let's let's let's change the video game and mess with the settings and just see how this works out. McVeigh decided to take all the starters out and Kyle took all the starters.

Out and McVeagh won.

And now they've played bigger games than this and more important games than this, But really have they right now? Like if the Rams get in and I still think the Rams will be a wild card if not a divisional, I think the Rems be in the playoffs.

This is so critical.

Remember in Week three when they had that punt return by Xavier nod Enough, Like, you gotta make sure to win these games. And I just think this is this is yet another piece of evidence in a little plastic bag when it comes under trial.

Is Sean McVay the best coach in the NFL?

I submit to you Rams twenty seven nine ers twenty four Week three, that's my guy, and.

Real quick on the forty nine ers, that's a three hundred and twenty million dollars payroll. That is a three hundred and they lost a couple ayuk big drops. Pretty played well, but like where were the guys to step up? And they needed the most in the clutch there. That's a terrible loss for the forty nine ers. We're up fourteen on the road against a banged up Ramstead.

Yeah, and KB, I know you like T shirts, and I know you like me Veay. We got to create a new T shirt.

This is McVeigh today, any day, all day, because he's the man.

And to your point, some guys just thrive under adversity.

And when you have a mi Sean McVay who just seemingly looks forward to adversity, he looks forward to the opportunity that adversity provides, then you can't help but to go out there and lay it all on the line. For you, for that type of coach, these players are going out there, ballman. You already alluded to it.

Peter. You talk about the guys that they've lost.

Okay, he lost their center, they lost their tackle, they lost Cooper Cup, they lost Pooking Nakuah, all right, they lost Higbee, they lost their started running back. So you lost pretty much all the starters and all your primary positions, all your offensive line, and all your skilled positions, and you still find a way to go out there and get the most out of your guys. You talked about some of the defensive guys going out there and take care of business. This is a San Francisco unit that has dogs all over the place. Now, whether the dogs are out the cages this year or not, I'm not sure, but they have dogs on their team and they continue to go out there and put pressure on guys that you see, they gave up a little bit of points in terms of twenty four, but I'm more impressed about this offense.

I'm more impressed about.

Kyron Williams showing up having eighty nine yards in the ground, two touchdowns and them just finding a way Matthew, Stafford and McVeigh to get w's against the conference a division of wolf in the servacism forty nine ers.

Karen Williams was your rewind that he front flipped from the end zone and you said it was all Simon bilesim On Biles enlightening us this summer when she said the Olympic team, who they did, gymnastics team. They give us some of the name every summer. The unofficial one apparently was mess around and find out out. You know, we'll mess around and find out with Sean McVay and Stafford, like beat them, get up by ten points, it doesn't matter. After the game, the Rams tweeted out this video, and all they wrote was, this is cinema. Take a look. You are such a bleep in stud. You are such a stud. Those guys have coached and played together for so long, yet Smick Bay is still hugging on Stafford that hard. He's that fired up about his quarterback. You are such a bleeping stud that it was probably emblematic of all Rams fans. But I just love this after on a regular season game in September, that's on fired up McVeigh is about that team and his quarterback, all right. The Dolphins traveled all the way to Seattle, and Tua Tunga Miloa made the trip despite being on ir after suffering concussion ten days ago. The Seahawks went twenty four to three. But keep your reactions to yourself.

Seahawks three and all respected.

These teams are not three and oh those are the two youngest quarterbacks in the NFL to younger starting quarterback Caleb under fire again getting hit a lots.

Things are not going great in Chicago right now.

Colts, Colts, Colts, that should be the focus here. Twenty one to sixteen, Indianapolis wins.

We hear your Broncos fans, you're getting your highlights. We know it's taking a bit, but we have to give love to what bow Knicks did yesterday.

Going into a hostile environment. They're winless, the other team's undefeated. Bon Ni season's legs.

This game, first drive, touchdown, get on the board. They never looked back. Baker Mayfield early talks for MVP early on the two weeks in well he was silenced. Yesterday, Broncos defense was like a swarm all over him.

Interception. They bring it back all the way to the ten yard Lanka. They would score on this drive as well.

Broncos all over Baker the defense, Vance Joseph squad going twenty six to seven.

Big win for the Broncos.

They're on the board of the We we have Sean Payton or Vance Joseph on my short list Repeater's Coach of the Week. I always am wondering who Peter is going to pick. We will see. I know you went with who'd you go with last week? Mettla Flour. I believe that's on the second. We're going game balls, Isaiah, who do you give your game ball to?

Oh?

You got to go over to Carolina. I mean you have to you have to go to Carolina.

You have David Kanalis, who's obviously the head coach down there, and you have the man right there, the savvy veteran, Andy Dalton, the red rifle with the luscious hair. Okay, this guy went out there and bought out twenty six to thirty seven, three hundred and nineteen yards, three touchdowns.

They had to find a way to get.

Their offense going, not only because of the head coach's history as a as a really good offensive play caller, but obviously because they traded for Deontay Johnson this year. But the goal that Canal has had to go out there and say, guess what, I know, you traded away our entire future for this franchise quarterback. But I'm gonna need y'all to sit him to the side and let the savvy vat come in here and get this thing on the road, because right now we are.

Off the tracks. Now they're back on the tracks.

I tell you, I love that set they're sitting in right there. That is a comfortable, cool set. You guys look very casual, and that is her copies Sam Donald felt yesterday.

Sam Donald looked so cool and calm and comfortable. He might as well have been in a sweatshirt or a windbreaker.

It was not even.

And there's a team that sacked Caleb Williams seven times last week. This is a team that absolutely silenced the Bears last week, and yet here's Sam Donald four touchdowns like it's nothing, doing it again.

He gets my game ball. He actually went down.

With an injury here and you're like, oh, no, come on, and then the toughness of Donald shows up the next drive and is completely fine and continues to roll.

That was a little bit of a moment.

But you know what, Donald was great, the Vikings fans standing ovation for him. What a wild turn of events it's been for the Vikings. They lose McCarthy in the summer, everyone thinks the seasons done based on a rookie quarterback.

No, no, no, no, they got the veteran guy. And you know what he gave c J.

Stroud, The conversation that Stroud gave Caleb last week. That is my game ball right there. Sam Donald does it again. He might win a game ball every single week, That's true.

I look at Donald and I imagine he just must be so happy right now. And I'm trying to think, who is a player in the NFL who's just happier right now Monday after Week three, and my game bow goes to Justin Fields and the Pittsburgh Steels.

Can you imagine this guy right now?

He has never won three starts in a row in his career.

He's never done it.

He's only won two in a row a couple times.

He has now won three in a row to start the season on a three.

And ozero team. And you think, oh, Justin Field has some good numbers. He had a good game. He must have run all over the place.

Guy ran for six yards.

That's it. He's standing there.

When twenty five of thirty two passing like a franchise quarterback. And listen, he has spent the last six months not only being jettison from Chicago, but by seeing them stand around and add this wide receiver and this tight end and this running back. And Caleb is the messiah and he's going to do all the things that Justin couldn't do. And we're gonna give him all the tools to do those things that Justin couldn't do that we never gave Justin. And as the Bears are spinning their wheels, in the Dome in Indianapolis, and Caleb is hit and getting picked off. Fields is sitting there in the Pennsylvania sunshine running a three to ozhero team like he was born to do it.

I am so happy for him.

A guy who's always been team oriented, positive, doesn't run his mouth, won't have something spiteful to say or tweet about the Bears right now.

Even though we could.

He's focused on going four and zho and the way he's playning, he probably will game ball to Justin Fields, Steelers starting quarterback.

All right, so we've gone Sam Darnolds, We've gone Justin Fields, We've gone Andy Dalton. This is the second act game ball segment because I'll just put a ball on it with my Vikings windbreaker on. I'm giving my game ball to Malik Willis. Okay, let's talk about the Packers, shall we? Because I wanted to wait a week. I wanted to wait a week to get the vomit off the ball from a week la Willis to give him this game ball. Who came out and just said, Jordan Love, I got you. Jordan Love's trying to mess with everybody and say I think I can come back this week. I think Milke Willis like, I'm fine. Lafleur gets him right. He is running all and you know what, credit to Malik Willis for not coming out and giving this line after line about Roll. The Titans feared me and they gave me a way. No, He's like, I love the Titans. They drafted me. This is not a revenge game. I'm just trying to play my best brand of football.

And it was.

He threw for over two hundred yards. He rushed for seventy three of them, and the Packers are two and one, and inexplicably that one loss came when Jordan Love had to start the game, and that was in Brazil. The fact that the Packers lost their quarterback on an international game and they still have a guy who was traded to the team in August keep them on track in a division that at times looks like Sam Darnold. They're coming into town next weekend, so all of a sudden, Jordan Love might be back, but the Malik Willis game ball experience had to happen after this week.

Peter I couldn't agree more, and he deserves everything he's getting. One commonality between these four quarterbacks, Dalton Darnald Fields, Willis, coaches that took them in, supported them, encouraged them, and said we're rolling with you, and we trust you to do what you can do, going to make you have an opportunity to do it with the best possibility you can. In all previous four of those situations you could argue, and in Sam Darnold's case seven situations and Dalton maybe ten.

That wasn't the case the last time they were on the film.

But I was told that it is impossible in a game for the Panthers, that organization, that coach that or you can't win and they fail everyone who plays for them.

It's interesting.

I'm curious to see if all the different people who said the team should be sold, the coach should be fired, the GM should be thrown out in the street is talking today about the Panthers because that team was objectively better with Andy Dalton than Bryce Young and that was a bold decision to bench the quarterback.

Yet it made for a lot of fodder.

Online and a lot of retweets and some viral moments just saying that it was the worst decision of all time. It seems like when the players reacted to Dave Canal, it's getting a game ball.

They all kind of agreed in the locker room.

I don't know that's change coylen, because I had read that Justin Philis is not a franchise quarterback and could not run around they. All he can do is run, That's all he can do. How many yards was it, Kyle? How many rushing yards?

Here?

Six rushing yards?

He ran for six?

Six and the Steelers are three and that was game balls. We'll be right back here on Good Morning Football on a Monday in our comfies.

Good Morning Football, all right, time for a wake up call. And every week on this show I give a Coach of the Week award.

Now Kevin O'Connell deserves it.

Sure, I think Dave Canalis what he did was amazing.

McVeigh. We have been doing flips over Matt Lafleur, of course.

What they're doing with Malik Willis. But I'm gonna take you to a winless team that was going up against an undefeated squad on the road and there's a coin toss and the team elected to receive, not to for receive. We're gonna take the ball. We're gonna march right down. We're gonna score and we're gonna get ourselves a victory. And that's what Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos did Sunday in Tampa. My coach of the Week is Sean Payton, whose team was up against it and on the ropes and went into Tampa and absolutely annihilated wall to wall, wire to wire, a very good.

Buccaneers team that came into this thing undefeated. Bow Knicks was unleashed.

They used his legs.

He had nine rushes, including this touchdown, which was the opening drive of the game. They set the tone early and Sean Payton said no more of this sitting back and playing conservatively. We're gonna throw the ball, We're gonna run the ball, and we're gonna come at you. This is Julia McLaughlin early in the game, up seven to nothing, gets to the edge. Here, beautiful touchdown run and you look at this. This was setting the tone in the first half and they didn't let up. So many teams gave up leads yesterday, this team did not. The Denver Broncos are back on the board. Sean Payton took the ball, so we're gonna receive, We're gonna put the ball in our rookie quarterback's hands. We're gonna drive right down the field and we're not gonna look back.

That's what they did.

Tim Brando and Matt Milan on the call.

It was a throwback, and it was a throwback Sean Payton coaching masterpiece.

He is my coach of the week.

You know, Jamie had bo Nicks as her Rookie of the Year candidates. So hey, great start there, Jamie. Right well, look in the Falcons coming up short Sunday night against the Chiefs, but still a memorable night for the Atlanta Falcon franchise, specifically owner Arthur Blake. During halftime, Blank was inducted into the franchise's Ring of Honor as a tribute to his commitment to the team and the city of Atlanta as a whole. To show his support for the fans, Blank and the Falcons gave off free hot dogs, chips, and a souvenir cup to all fans. We're still waiting for ours, mister Blank, so extra congratulations to you. But we do have some unfortunate and sad news to report. Legendary Dolphins running back Mercury Morris passing away. Morris played seven of his eight seasons in the NFL for the Dolphins, winning two Super Bowls in earning three Pro Bowl selections. He was, of course, a member of the Miami's nineteen seventy two team, finishing with a perfect record. In a statement, the Dolphins saying of Morris, quote, he will forever be remembered as one of the greatest players to don the aqua in Orange. Eugene Mercury Morris, seventy seven years old.

Head scratchers. Okay, we have a dog who's gonna look at you like this, say, all right, you got some players that did some stuff on Sunday that we just need to review again. And it's a head scratcher.

It's definitely a head scratcher.

I'm going to go ahead and start off with the Indianapolis Colts, and there's a quarterback by the name of Anthony Richardson out there.

Now.

It just makes me scratch my head sometimes some of the things that he does. He has three touchdowns on the year and six interceptions, and he has these big old hamhocks for legs. Use the legs to make the plays. Let's take a look at it real quick. Oh my goodness, here he is right here. You seem in the back of the pistol formation. Go ahead and face it out comes out. Use your legs, Like, come on, man.

How many guys were there?

What are we doing?

Let's take a look at one, two, three, four, five defenders? You had one receiver. Like it's like all I could do is just scratch my head on that, Like, just just use utilize your legs.

That's a young player who is still unproven and it's still figuring things out my head, scratch is a guy who we expect better out of.

What's up with Justin Tucker? Justin Tucker?

Are I allowed to say, like we love Justin Tucker. Justin Tucker yesterday takes one field goal attempt forty six yards. This is me in his sleep, Justin Tucker right before the half in a.

Game that they were, you know, controlling.

This is another one.

He's now missed three kicks this season through three weeks.

Now it might not all be talking. You know, Jordan Stout is now holding the ball. It's a different holder the whole thing, and we can get through the long snappers that you Hey, everyone makes every kick in the NFL. Right now, I feel like all we do is see field goal kickers.

Make it.

Justin Tucker, we love you.

Let's start making these again.

It's weird. No, no, no, he's too established for you.

No, no, no.

I saw one. I saw one take online that like Justin Tucker went to Dallas yesterday and like was stressed out that he wasn't the best kicker in.

The building, which like Aubrey.

Okay, that's Aubreya is ridiculous. But is it not my take? I'm just saying that I read it. I'm just married to the game. I'm just trying to read all the come and darry about the games. Okay, now I feel badly. I'm start going back to Anthony Richardson. No, listen, it's not a pick. It's not a pick. Our old colleague Jason McCarty was on the game, so I was in tune with what McCarty was saying about this specific and I even texted him what did Anthony Richardson just do with the goal line? Here's the situation. We're in the fourth quarter, the Colts are up. Anthony Richardson uses his hamhowk legs and starts to rush Kevin Byarn takes him down at the goal line. But then anthy Richardson by Ard gets up, who is a veta win in this league? And they start to jaw. That's fine, but then what is this? Hey hoo hey, whoa what do we do?

Come on?

Man? That's like when my two my five year old and three year old chest bump each other and they're like, mom, she just pushed me. It's like, no, Anthony, come on, just walk away. It's like a soccer flop. Mccordy said, yes, I didn't want to tell you what McCarty wrote back, but it was like a soccer flop.

Games we have to choose from, and you're talking about someone in the Colts Bears game who's maybe putting on a show and acting up a little bit.

I'm also going to the Colts Bears game.

This is a friend of the show. You guys know who this is.

He comes by all the time.

This is him on the show.

That's Seth Rollins, probably my favorite professional wrestler, huge Bears fan.

He was at the game.

What the hell was Seth doing? Did you see what happened?

Why? It's the video of Seth rons at the game Bears cult.

He gets thrown over the boards and like, wait, did he fall? Is this a work?

That's t Y Hilton up there? What t Y threw Seth over the boards, like out of the ring, and then.

Security had to come over and Seth is, you know, going being full Seth.

He actually getting thrown out of the ring.

Wearing a Caleb jersey. He got better protection than Caleb did that day. So it's right there. Look the security councher.

You know why this was some sort of work or thing or shoot or whatever back in the building.

No, I think he might have go and kicked out.

The yellow is not part of it.

No, No, I think he was.

Involved at all.

I don't know.

He and Ty just decided that's just something funny.

Just throw me out of here.

Seth would later tweet after the game, but he hates football, so like I think he was kind of in his emotions. But t Y looks great. He's the babyface in this encounter, and Seth has always got something going on. This is a wild one.

This is why we do the segment.

Yes, the fact that we apologize to the Colts bears, in the fact that three heads rotchers came out of it. But Kyle, to your point, I was going to say that. That seth freaking rollins. He's tweeted like three times this month. The first one was before the Bears play He's like, I can't wait, I love football. The next one was I hate football, just all lowercases, very manageable, is very calm. And then this last one was all caps. I think he threw some periods in them. I hate football. That's a Bears fan, right, all the emotions.

Yeah, there's another Bears fan where friends with Adam Rank who tweeted Yesterday's like, I think I'm just going to take a break from sports for a while. We could be talking about the Bears today. Maybe we will this week. It's a very negative story. It really is like there's a lot of problems and there's a lot of accusations about who's running the team and how he's running the team.

We're trying to focus on winners as much as you talked to forty nine ers instead.

It's not much better. Now you've got the Rams though, and we should talk to Kold.

We're going to get into the Bears. It's just this morning. It's honestly, I'm kind of not in the mood, like I really like.

The weekend of football, and the bear story is so negative, I'm side stepped.

You can make a new production rule that all of our heads scrapters have to come from different games, all right, so we do it.

It's not a new rule. Actually, we're just making it nice to follow it one of these weeks.
