Good Morning Football.
Welcome to Good Morning Football, brought to you by our friends at Old Trapper Beef Jerky. You're live in Los Angeles and New York City. It is Monday, November fourth. We are halfway through the season, wrapping up Week nine today. I'm Sherry Burris alongside Akbar Baji Banmilla. That is Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt Holma down there in New York. Go check on Jamie and Minnesota. But first, guys, there was a lot of games yesterday, a lot of consume. But really, I think we all know the highlight came from Minnesota. Where we're going to start.
Oh yeah, and we're not talking about Sam Donald Turne talking about Joe Flacco. We're gonna talk about it very shortly. In fact, you should we just roll the videotape. This is why you tune into Good Morning Football. This morning's go to Minnesota. There's a blue football helmet. But more importantly, yeah heard out.
Oh you get hurt in a second.
Absolutely. Now, I might point out that the Vikings were scoreless in the first half, but don't worry about that. That wasn't because of Jamie twenty one to thirteen. Look at Darnold. You don't see a ton of that from him. It's usually pretty stoic. But he had a couple bad picks, he had the fumble, and you could tell he really wanted to make a men's war. Plus, the Vikings have lost two games in a row. They needed this one and they got this one. Twenty one to thirteen. And afterwards, friend of the show koc Kevin O'Connell, the person who extended the invitation of Jamie at all, talked all about that confidence in his quarterback.
My trust in Sam is something that I think is going to be a winning edge for our football team.
And to win a football game.
When we lose the turnover battle, that means your quarterback played well. That means there were some plays to be made. Twenty nine first downs, we moved it, you know, speaks to his ability to flat out throw the pill. I mean, this guy can throw the football and love every aspect of what he's doing within our offense right now. And I'm sure Sam will be hard on himself about those two interceptions, but I'm going to stay aggressive with him because I do think my confidence in him, which is genuine, it's real. It is, like I said, a winning edge for us moving forward.
Well, take a look at the standings. Now, this is the UFC North. Is that what working on the UFC North? Yes, NFC, and we can see why. The crown going to the Lions, who put a pretty good wolfan on the Packers, I dare say, But the Vikings bouncing back from those two games losing those getting the win now six in two. So the Bear's at five hundred, which is pretty decent. They are at the bottom of the division. I got to say, I really identify with Joe Flacco there when he kind of looked so jarred Daylight Savings with a toddler and if you fellow.
Parents, you know.
But the Vikings they really struggled offensively in the first half. But Kyle, as you kind of alluded there, Darnold got into his groove in the second half, throwing the passes. Peter, I do want to go to you first here. Your biggest takeaway from what we saw there in Minneapolis last night is what.
He saw shade to the old Sam Donald there. The first half was not good and he's a rascal. Sometimes he'll throw a bad pick, and he did throw a bad pick, and you're sitting there and you're like, the Vikings should be up.
By thirty points right now.
The defense is absolutely smoldering and stuffing Jonathan Taylor. Flaco's got nothing abound? Why are they not scoring points? Turnover? Turnover? And then the second half Donald hits Addison and now we're starting to roll. He just needed to get that little kickstart. And then as the game goes on, it's like, all right, now the Vikings offense is rolling. When they play like this and they can get action like this, they are a very dangerous team.
But Donald will kill you at times.
He will throw those picks, and that's what his whole career has been. But I'll tell you you know, I'm not a huge statistics guy. I don't go to PFF or the Next Gen and say, well, I saw the miles per hour and this is not my thing. But I like the story. I don't do numbers. I don't do fantasy. I like the story, and the story to me is Sam Donald found a way at halftime to kind.
Of pick himself up the bootstraps.
I will say this, though, you look across the league at quarterback play, and there are some very highly paid quarterbacks right now. Sam Donald's at the top, right there at the top with those Josh Allen Mahomes and the rest.
Of those guys.
When you're talking about completion percentage, touchdown passes, passing yards.
And now they're six and two. Sam Donald won.
A game that in the past Sam Donald would have lost. I think that is huge. And then of course good coaching, great home field advantage, and an excellent defense is going to carry the way. Sam Donald to me is the story this morning, found a way to dig out of the old Sam Donald and show that he is a different player and he's been reinvented. And guess what, he can win these games even when he starts off rough.
Yeah, and that's what it all comes down to, Peter, I know you're really good with this.
What university did Sam Donald go to?
Sam Donald? Usc wrong?
He went to the University of adversity, And that's exactly he did. Like he graduated with a bad degree of university university, so he understands how to come out of adversity. That first half was horrible, it was bad. He had the four sacks and the three turnovers. It was disruptive that offense could not get going, and I couldn't agree with you more. I learned more about Sam Darnold as the leader of this team and the fact that his coach, Kevin O'Connell, what we talked about and heard him saying, I'm gonna put faith in him. Is very easy for a coach to lose faith or to go you know what, PTSD, remember what he did in his previous teams and the other four teams that he played, or of the three teams that he played with. No, no, no, it's not the same guy. He was able to dig himself out of that, and that's very difficult to do, especially when you had two quarters that were really bad. That second half, he came out smoking. I thought what was impressive where he led those two consecutive drives with touchdowns. That's the type of player that you've been seeing since the beginning of the season, Sam Donald Man, if you know that your back is against the wall, you know you've got a good defense, you know you've got great offensive weapons. Now you know you've got a quarterback who can dig himself out of adversity. When everything was going so well for Sam Darnold.
Yeah, and isn't that what Joe Flaco was supposed to do for the Colts. The Colts are fascinating to me right now. So you're four and five, you're in this AFC South or even the division is not out of reach, certainly the wild Cards not in the AFC. You make this move and you sit down the guy who's your alleged franchise and the draft pick and everything, and everyone seems generally supportive of it. It seems like the right move. The only thing that would really burn you is if what if Flacco pays poorly and you lose? What if he plays really poorly? They didn't reach the red zone last night? It went awful. They had a season low six points on offense, They had a season low in yards on offense, They had a season low and first downs. It was a nightmare. Their offense was so unbelievably bad that even when Richardson had played poorly leading the offense, they did better than they did Flacco last night. So what do you do now? Do you say, Anthony, We're sorry ya, you learned a lot and that's on us and bad move. Let's get back out there son, or do you say no? We still think that Joe gives us the best chance because like Flacco was really bad and whatever, He's a great football man. He's had a great career. I don't know where they go because are you trying to win games and get in the playoffs this year? I think they are? Or are you like no, let's build Richardson. I have no idea. They have a head coach that has not been through this kind of thing before. But they took a risk and it blew up in their face. So their record is not great, but they still matter in the AFC. They could make a move. I'm not really sure where they go right here, but like last night was a tough, tough night for the Colts, and I'm glad. I hopefully Anthony richard hasn't like tweeted anything or anything crazy like that, because he could say whatever he wants that like okay, okay, I hope he doesn't. I don't know where they go, if anything, I see the narrative already online this morning.
I see a video of them going into halftime and like Anthony Richardson was slapping everyone five and like multiple people like look up for he's coming.
I just not everything needs to be dissected.
But like he was slapping.
Players five, like he's slapping himself in the head, like he's tapping out I know.
Look, they're four and five. They got the bills next week. Do you trot out Anthony Richardson now and say, well, that was a one week thing and then now we're going back and forth, back and forth. The truth of the matter is Chris Ballard's gotten there and as a GM has had eight different quarterbacks. And you're talking about Matt Ryan, you're talking about Carson Wentz, you're talking about Jacobe Brissett, Philip Rivers, and they drafted one fourth overall and they said, we're gonna take the short term possibility of winning this season and winning this AFC south over letting this kid get his bumps and bruises. Truth the matter is one week into it, Flak who could not have played worse. And that's a credit to Brian Flores and Kevin O'Connell and that great defense. I mean, Ivan Pates and Josh Mittelis were all over the field yesterday, but they were in a real conundrum and they don't have a they don't have a cupcake game coming up here.
They played the Buffalo Bills this week.
So do you go back to Richardson and just like you said, say he's showed a lot of rolls.
I don't know, Yeah, yeah, I mean that was a tough That was a tough defense to go against Joe Flacco. Whoever Anthony richars it probably would have produced probably worse numbers than that of Flaco.
So I don't know about that, man, I don't know. We'll never know what we got. Damn did you do?
If dand if you don't, we do know the real reason though, why Minnesota won. It was that pregame the galler horn getting blown by our Jamie Erdaal bringing her in. Now she is still there in Minnesota, Jamie, have you stopped smiling since you landed back? And we want all of the details of what it was like leading that school champ last night at US Bank Stadium.
Okay, you guys got the highlight out of the way. You had your takes, you got your Flacco conversation in. You're Anthony Richardson the culture four and five by kens Or six and two. I will remain undefeated and for the rest of time twelve hours ago to the minute to the minute listen, I've had three kids, I'm married. This officially is number five on my list of like the probably because I'm only obligated too, right, I'm supposed to put it at five, and those other four are out there, and on any even day, if my kids are bothering me, I might have to bump it up above some of those dates. But I am so I am euphoric right now, and I don't know when I'm gonna come down from this. You guys are gonna have to deal with me in Los Angeles tomorrow. The Vikings are a class act organization. And I may have thought that before this, but after this experience and the fact that anyone who ever gets invited to have this experience on game day with the Vikings, you are going to remain so enchanted by this tradition for the will family, Mark and Ziggi Wilf to invite me and to have to approve this person who's on stage jumping out of their mind to do this for the Vikings with such a thrill. Then to see Kevin O'Connell on the field, to see Josh Mattelus on the field, who comes over and interacts with us because he hosted GMFB with us during pregame. He hangs out with my husband and his buddies. They're all Michigan guys.
Like everyone.
Aaron Jones came over and was like, this is your moment. We're so fired up for you. Everyone was so aware of this. I could not believe the experience that I had. Like I said, the gold standard. There was a man that was a part of all this last night, Brian Harper, who fifteen years ago hired me to host a Minnesota Vikings cheerleading show on the local channel here in Minnesota. He had a part in putting me on that stage last night, Brian Harper, I appreciate you, Andrew Miller, Martinantz, the entire organization. I cannot explain to you the cloud that I am on. It's not even nine. I'm on Cloud thirteen fourteen. It does pick a number.
I don't care.
I am never coming down from this experience. Ask me anything you on Kyle. Kyle Brandt sent me this text that was essentially like take it to a ten, and I took it to an eleven and I regret nothing.
Oh so cool, Yeah, Jamie You're absolutely incredible. I think all of us are very proud of you. I definitely am. I was not only proud of you, I was genuinely fired up watching you. I got up off the couch. I was watching it with Brooke. You did an amazing, amazing, amazing job. I have to ask. Of course, we don't partake in gambling on football, but it had to feel like you had something on the line. You go out like that, And let's be honest, Jamie, it wasn't the prettiest first half of the vikings. Were you a little worried? And then did you get even more excited in the second half and they finally woke up?
Okay, So Kyle, to your point, I thought my duties were done once the game started, and then the automatic horn starts going, you know, for first downs, for shuchdowns. I make it all the way down of my seat and I'm like, I haven't.
Heard the sound.
What is happening? They were playing terribly. I was going rightfling through my one hundred plus texts that I got, and I'm looking up and there was the pick in the end zone. And I'm going back to my text and I'm looking up and I'm like, oh, there's another punt, Oh there's the fumble of the fumble, scoop and score. It was a terrible first half and I was very nervous. So then I go up and I see the NBC guys at halftime. I go see Tarico and Collins Worth to thank them for selling the moment the way that they did on the broadcast, and I'm like, yeah, but we got to get it going a little bit because now to all of our points, this is an obligation that I had. You cannot come out like you're being introduced at a high school basketball game, jumping out of my mind. There's Collins comes over.
To green room, food, faith full of food. These guys were so wonderful.
But yes, I was nervous that I just looked just jacked out of my mind. To start that game and you score a single point.
You had everybody fired up. I was actually at home. I had never done this before, and I was so excited for you.
To do this.
I actually started I was I was doing this and you had everybody on. I'm like, have sixty seventy thousand people be like that. The had have been cool like you were the orchestrator of that, Like that was pretty cool.
Uh huh, Jamie, I'll say this as a show, I want to get in here because I want to give you the thirty thousand square foot thing. As a show, we have had some really cool moments. Kyle announced a draft pick for the Buffalo Bills. I remember Nate Burlison once did The Twelfth Man. I would say this goes on the Mount Rushmore of moments for Good Morning Football. As as cool as it could have been, it was even cooler and to your point, Yeah, to your point, the Sunday night broadcast not only sold this, they played the entire chant so that my wife and I are on the couch and we're ritualistically doing this like we're Vikings fans, and I'm like, that's my co host, that's Jamie up there.
We were so proud of you. You crushed it. What a life moment, What a cool moment for the show. Peter. Thank you.
I knew you would appreciate the broadcast part of it. Peter. I gotta tell you this, Chris Miskiff, you got me last year. This is my in my era bracelet. I still wear it because this was my Vikings era.
This is my moment.
I was wearing it last night, the command of the school clap. Now it means so much more to me. This was the best thing I've ever done. Kids, marriage, I get it this. I am so into this moment. I will never live this down. You guys, I'm telling you you're gonna have to like walk me off the set at some point because I won't stop talking about this.
Nora should you? You should enjoy this. Soak it in Cloud eighteen. Whatever you're on, stay there, Jamie. We are so happy for you. More highlights are coming your way here on GMFB the Rams, they took care of business in Seattle with an ot thriller. We're discussing this and so much Kyle. It was a crazy sunday of football for week nine.
It was the most important. They need to shout out to Brian Harper, Brian, we need clips of that Vikings cheerleading show. Let's get him in now. Brian Harper dropping my dms. I need them. Shout out to our guys.
Sam Newton and pr who texted me also being like.
Hey, FYI, Jamie's gonna bring it today. I love the house. Sam working it not Cam Newton, Sam Newton, that's our guy. Bus Lions go to Rainy Lambeau. Was it all we expected? Not really, but we got a powerful team. Maybe Jamie's Vikings will play them in the playoff. We don't know. They're so far though. We're doing JMFP on a Monday. Good mon football, All right, do you want some Cowboys Falcons? Sure, guys. The Falcons have it going on. They're winning. The Cowboys are the exact opposite of that. They have nothing going on. Dak kind of pulls up and he pulls his hamstring in the middle of a throw with no contact. This is the kind of thing that's going on with them right now. And then he stood on the sideline and had some opinions about the team with the lip readers really deciphered. It wasn't hard. It was elementary lip reading and it was also accurate. Six and three. The Falcons are they're the story. You're twenty seven to twenty one. Kirk Cousins throws three touchdowns. Falcons. Feel like you're an automatic pilot right now, just doing really really well. All right, it's Monday. We always kind of get a little nervous when we go to Ian on Monday, because there's not always pleasant news. Ian, try to be gentle today. What have you got please?
We'll talk about Cowboys in a second, but we will start with some news that happened overnight for the Las Vegas Raiders. They've made a major coaching move, firing offensive coordinator Luke Getzi as they struggled to a fifth straight loss.
Offense one of the worst in the NFL.
It really has been that way for the entire season, shuffled quarterbacks in and now Gardner Minchew not playing like the pro bowler that he played like last year. Something had to give Antonio Peers making the move after last night's game, a humbling, humbling loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Rich Gangerell, the quarterbacks coach. James Craig, offensive line coach, also fired the likely candidate to take over as interim OC play caller, Scott Turner, the former Commander's OC.
He is still in the building.
He is one of the coaches who remained after this major move last nights. We will see if that is the case. But the Raiders moving on from their OC. Now let's get to Dak and yes, you mentioned the lip breeding part.
That's not what we're going to talk about. We will leave that to the internet.
Salutes could have said anything. Maybe he was talking about how he wished his team was better.
I don't know.
He suffered a hamstring injury in last night's game.
It's going to get an MRI today.
As he told reporters after the game, he has never really felt anything like this.
That is concerning.
Concerning is also the word that Jerry Jones used.
He also had a hand injury.
My understanding is that's fine, more of a scratch anything out.
It's about the hamstring. If he cannot go.
Cooper Rush is the backup quarterback for the Cowboys.
A lot to keep our eyes on there, Ian, We appreciate the insight, Thank you so much. And looking around the league for some highlights in the division. Nfcast Commander's Giants Kyle Washington looking like the complete opposite direction of the Cowboys. But we saw some good from the Giants in this one.
Yeah.
Them have not been seven and two since nineteen ninety six. If they get to this win, they will. Dania Jones came to play, yes, so I'll give him that. He's been so bad in front of the home fans. He had a really cool rushing touchdown. He hits Theo Johnson for a touchdown. There we may see Dani Jones an anger runs tomorrow. I'm really proud. Twenty seven to twenty two. Though Jaden just said it's an automatic pilot. Dave's we love you man. It's just this, ain't it. They're two and seven, two teams going in opposite direction as the commander. It's just a machine. Seven and two. Let's stay in the NFC East.
Jaguars Eagles.
This one was a blowout early that it got really interesting.
Jalen Hurts has been waiting for that breakout game all season.
He had it yesterday.
Big numbers and big performance this one here, third and six.
Let's just watch, and I'm gonna be quiet.
What I don't even think. I don't even think. Mccordy and Ticky are in the drunken like. I don't even hear anything. I've never seen it before.
Jaguars would come back, they'd make this thing.
A game, but the Eagles would have to rely on their defense.
Here we go, come Trevor Laurie does it.
Nakobe Dean like a linebacker out there covering like a wide receiver. Very well done, and Doug Peterson returns to Philly but cannot.
Come out with the right The shot right belongs to MG Dom's in there.
Eagles were twenty eight to twenty three, ups and down roller coaster game. The defense shut the door. Eagles six and two. Unbelievable that they're six and two considering all the pain that feels like we've been gone through with the offense and defense. Let's let's go to the guy who had one of the coolest plays we've ever seen that Saquon Barkley talking about that insane sideways spin hurdle.
Yeah, I kind of just played ball. Let go and let my body just react. That play was cool. And now there's a lot of stuff that happened the second half that got clean up to take care of the ball in situational football, but that's a beauty football. You got to have each other's backs, and the defense have mob back today and most.
Of the Portland we got to wear.
It's like Saquon just left his body, he said, just played ball out there. We were supposed to be talking about the NC East just in general, but then that play from Saquon happened. To Kyle that I had to replay that. I went back. I was tweeting about it.
I think I text my.
Mom, what did you make of what Saquon was actually able to do?
Right there? It's a good natural instinct of you, like you want to talk to your mother when you say, but I saw I need the security of my mother. I can't stop thinking about this. I saw it, and I couldn't believe what I saw that. I rewound it, and I went out to dinner, and I kept thinking about I dreamt about it last night. It was the first thing I thought about this morning. I had a dream about this last night because listen, I've been doing this long enough that I thought I had seen all the things the human body can do while carrying a football. Let me explain this. When I go in and Instagram, the football algorithm has its clause in me because of the plays that I like to look at and anger rins and stuff. All I see are crazy football plays, high school, college. It's just all I swipe all day. I've never seen anything like this. I don't think that this has ever happened at any level of football. I don't think there's some D three college I don't think there's some high school. It's not even possible to do that play in Madden. You can't do it because they have to get that person with the centers on him to make the moves, and no one can ever do that move before we will know by the end of the day, there's gonna be some video that surfaces. It's a handheld thing from the stands about oh some high school in Montana and they hate man the guy jump backwards. I don't think it's coming out in the meantime, Like, never mind us. We need the likes of like Neil deGrasse. Tyson needs to look at this and explain why it's possible. And I know he's doing such incredible things here with his body and just please roll it again. So incredible things with his body and his legs. I'm so interested in Saquon's brain here. Something happened in his electrical system where when he's coming out of this spin, which is as impressive by it on its own, his brain sent a signal to his legs that he should jump backwards. And I am so interested when that happened. There are plenty of people on earth who can pull this off. Athletically who have the talent, the fact that Saquon's brain told him to do this mentally, and can we take a second to talk about Darian Jones. Jarian Jones is a rookie cornerback who's probably like, the hell is this? My whole life is my dream? I'm not hearing that. What the hell is that? A poster? Is that where he's jumping backwards? I don't speaking of posters, bring up the picture. I can't stop thinking about this, guys. And if you want to say, oh, he was tackling, what compleep is that?
I love it because it's his third down, that's what got them the first down.
It's so crazy that his brain did it, his body did it. I can't stop thinking about it. Peter getting here because that's her high up Listen.
I was online obviously as it's happened, so I'm hearing from everybody and I'm trying to get the There is a producer over at Fox Sports named Dustin Waite goes It's Dusty. Dusty says that Saquon did peaches right, plus B move and smash brothers.
That's what he did.
Did the spinning pro the spinning princesses peaches.
That's the stuff to move that she did take. That's it, Like that's a spinning backwards move.
He's a human being, I know. I would also say, are.
We now so spoiled that we get this play last night and yesterday in this game and we're like.
That was amazing?
Can I see Garrett Wilson's catch from seventy two hours earlier?
Yes? Are we in arrow ware? We just are so spoiled.
Here are two of the greatest plays that we have ever seen in like NFL history, and we are getting them both on the same NFL Weekendy.
That has to be in record in his styalamus somewhere somehow, like I don't even know, like that that is even possible. I think the coolest part of this is I think back to when I remember sitting down in my living room in LA and I remember when the Odell Beckham catch one and I'm like, what, And you're sending it to everybody. At that point the game meant nothing anymore. You're just sending this thing like, yo, you gotta see this. It was the same exact thing. And I think what's cool about this is that we're probably gonna now start seeing kids practice this. Remember how everybody in the league was like doing the one handed catchder warm up, trying to do the Odell It spread it everywhere. I can imagine a world and there's that Wilson play right there, Peter, right there, that's the one that everyone Week nine, everyone was talking about that. Now I believe sa Quan's move just erased all of that, Like it's impossible. I wanted this one too, Like that wasn't even a football move, that was an escapable move, like he just he just escaped out of that. It was the most impressive thing I've ever seen.
I don't think.
In fact, I'm gonna go home and I'm gonna try to practice that.
As a former gymnast, I can tell you it's a lot of body awareness and like spotting with your eyes where you're turning to see.
We'd have some own.
Biles put those little dots on. That's the only way we can replicate that in the video game.
Very cool, Here we go. This is the game of the week, the showdown. Look at I'm monra just zero subtlety, no strath between Green and Bay. Just want to word Green Bay, Dan Campbell loving it on the sideline and look, an absolutely miserable day. I don't think this was as close as twenty four to fourteen. They went in there and they absolutely owned that place twenty four to fourteen, seven and one. And you know, I think you just need to say this if you were following the Lions packers going up to this week, this is what happens when you become dominant teams like the Lions that no one can figure out. You try to find some sort of foothold, anything you can hold on to to make a yeah butt like they can't win outside or they can't win in the elements. And everybody poured over and over and over, Oh all these dome games, all these dome games. So look, not only they going to Green Bay, Peter, the weather is really bad, so they're going to completely fall apart. And I actually we don't think that was unjustified. Even if you look back to last year. They had some poor games offensively on the road at Baltimore last year. They got destroyed by the Chicago last year, so maybe there was something to it. The offense was not brilliant yesterday, but it was a complete one sided game over a team that a lot of people respect and Dan Campbell, believe me, believe me, had this postgame speech ready about what they can and can't do. Roll to Dan, Man, I don't.
Think it matters where we play at. It doesn't matter about the conditions.
We knew that coming in here, but I won't know if we validated anything.
But we gotta validate being.
Able to play in the weather.
It doesn't matter, man, that's just the way you're built. That's the way you're built. That's an outstanding win, Man, that's true division wins. I am unbelievably proud of you, guys. That's what it come in to.
Just ball.
That's what a ball.
He's such a leader of men in that you say, okay, after hearing that tenth locker room speech, he's eleven. Like you might think someone in the locker will be like, all right enough to but it doesn't.
Feel that way. It feels like they just follow him.
And you made the point about the dome and the outside and the weather. It's hard to do it now, to poke the hole like you're looking for the flaw.
And this was like the last foothold. This was all right. They want a bunch of game indoors. Let's see how it gets in November.
Let's see how it gets in December when they got to play in actually crummy weather because they got to play outdoor games.
And I'll tell you what, that was a one sided match.
That game was way more lopsided than twenty four to fourteen. And the defense continues to make plays. I love this Lion's defense because Aiden Hutchinson goes down with the injury, and that was another one.
Where're like, well, they're got another hole.
Are gonna have to struggle in the past, you don't feel it. I came on the show last week and I was like, this Green Bay defense is so much improved from last year. Just watch they might be a worthy competitor to the line.
It wasn't.
It wasn't that game love through interceptions, of course.
This one was.
It was just like there was nothing going on for Green Bay.
I'll say this.
The Lions now go on their little Afe South run, which means they play the Texans next week, they play the Jaguars after that, and they play the Colts after that. Those are three winnable games. The Lions can extend this lead to like going to like a ten and one record, and really with the separation with the wins over the Vikings and the Packers, they could be on their way to wrapping up this division and really looking at that one seat in the second half of the season.
And I don't have any holes for them.
Next forty eight hours trade deadline, do they add Zadarius Smith, do they add another pass rush or do they go and call for Jendavian Clowney. I would look at one of those big name pass rushers who might be on the block, just to give them some insurance on the defensive line, something to watch over the next two days.
As I say it here on a Monday morning on GMFN.
Yeah, that'd be pretty cool to have that addition. But this Detroit Lions team, they don't even need the addition because they've got attitude, Like the attitude like there's one.
Thing to go.
Oh, here's a team that you know, many people didn't realize and they had that great season last year but just missed it and who knows if they'll.
Do it again. Well, they've got attitude.
When your star wide receiver comes off the bus wearing a sweater saying Green Bay sucks, that tells you everything. You need to know the weather sucked. Yes, they're playing outdoor. It was a mentality they were ready to embrace. Yeah, okay, you guys want to talk about we own play indoors. No, the success carries outdoor. Football's played indoors and outdoor. So that idea that that whole knowledge of you know what house is going to impact them.
I get that garbage out of there.
These guys came ready to play, and I think what I loved And when you saw the mentality, Peter, you were talking about that defense. When Brian Branch gets ejected out of the game, I'm like, first off, you got to show the play. I don't know if they'll show the play, but when he gets ejected out of the play, obviously there's a lot of opinions about that, but you just took out one of their best defenders. I mean, here's a guy that was second in the team on the team with four interceptions, and how do they respond. They respond with Kirby Joseph coming over and getting an interception several plays later and going out there getting that pick six, and that to me was a temple setter. It shows that Detroit Lions, Yes, they're going to and they are winning the NFC North.
YEP, they went in there when punched. Their ticket got invalidated. As we heard from coach Dan Campbell there in the locker room. They've won six consecutive games. Now those first place lines.
Watch out, all.
Right, much more GMFB coming your way. Highlights from week nine stay right here with.
Us, Good Morning football.
Best game of the day was in Seattle Rams versus Seahawks, the last one to finish in the afternoon slate. Let's get right to the fourth quarter where Gino Smith throws.
A beauty of a pass.
To tie the game at twenty to Jackson Smith in Jigma.
That was the second big play on this drive to tie it up. We go to overtime.
Seattle takes the ball, gets all the way downfield, and the Ops to go for a fourth down does not get it.
On the other end, the Rams god one ahead and grab DeMarcus Robinson. It's a walk off. The Rams beat.
The Seahawks in dramatic fashion after being down at the half and then having to go into overtime and having to stop him in the red zone on a fourth down.
Heroic win for Los Angeles. All right with the Dolphins getting a wrong win in Buffalo Manda. They need it, They always lose the Bills. You've heard it over and over in twenty to twenty late after a kind of sloppy two minute drill by the Bill's sixty one yarder for Tyler Basher's been under siege right under the Tim Horton sign and right down the middle, Bill's thirty to twenty seven on a sixty one yard bilgo, the longest in Bill's history. Omar, I'm so impressed you're even still standing there ready to do the news and not just running out the door to go to Appleby's to get your free six boneless wings. But you're a professional, and I respect it.
What do you got You talked about them? Yeah, Jack shows there with the Raiders. Seems like so long ago that they went across the country and beat the Baltimore Ravens Week two. But the Raiders have lost five straight games now after falling to the Bengals Sunday, and now they're making changes to the offensive coaching staff, the team announcing they fired offensive coordinator Luke Getzi, along with quarterbacks coach Rich Gangerello and offensive line coach James Craig, the Raiders ranking twenty ninth in yards per game and dead lasting giveaways and rushing yards per game, and other news. Saints wide receiver Chris olav was released from the hospital Sunday night and returned to New Orleans with the rest of the team after leaving the game against the Panthers with a concussion. Panthers safety Xavier Woods was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play, and Eagles wide receiver A J. Brown left the win over the Jaguars after suffering a knee injury. Brown cut two passes for thirty six yards before exiting late in the first half. Brown missed three games earlier this season with the hamstring injury coming up. The plays that are so nice, you have to see him twice.
You got to rewind that's next good morning, Well.
At that time on a Monday, you gotta rewind that our segment highlighting place from Sunday.
We just had to look at twice. Peter, where are you taking us? First?
Everyone loves the overtime one handed touchdown cash from DeMarcus Robinson in LA, but the play beforehand I thought was even more incredible.
Watch his play.
Stafford to Tyler Johnson. In overtime, Stafford under durest rolls and then throws this thing.
And where does he come from? Where does he come from?
Tariq Wollan had this thing just all lined up, and then Tyler Johnson finds a way to sneak in with three defenders. Isn't overtime, guys? A pick here ends it in Seattle's.
In first place.
Instead, it moves the chains and the Rams continue on. Miss Engles insane. Look where Johnson comes out of here.
We love it.
Tyler Johnson, former buccaneer, now playing with the Rams.
And when Puka Nakua was ejected, he and DeMarcus Robinson stepped up. That was my player of the day. I loved it. USh the team the third of the game, guys, ocbar, what do you got?
I'm gonna go with Davonte Smith.
I don't think enough people are talking about this. This is a critical situation here, third and twenty two and Jalen Hurst just throw that back. I mean, there's not even any room left in the back of the end zone.
Let's take a look at this again.
This is pretty cool.
The Jaguars had already scored twice in the third quarter. They needed a little bit of breathing room and jalb Hurts delivers on that one. But it's the catch with Devonte Smith. Can we see another angle with this because I'm talking about the toad.
Drag swag, the shin the toes. I mean, there was nothing left.
Look at that one handed catch.
That was beautiful right there, knees, toes, all that stuff connected.
To the hip bone. Man, that was dope.
Nice sak One jumped over a guy backwards, Octar. I don't know if you saw it was really really could always tell the team third of the game or the safety against the Bears. And then the Bears try to an on side free kick where they punt it. Watch the Cardinals. They're so well coached. All of them call fair catch. They don't know where the ball is gonna go. But all you have to do is fair catch, and they can't get it. Every single player out there the second they do it calls fair catch. You can't touch them. Eventually DJ Dallas catches it. I really really, you guys, you know, I like the Cardinals. Shout out to Jonathan Gannon, who's not getting enough love. The Cardinals are playing great football. And it's little stuff like that third of the game. It's actually a quarter of the game because one quarter is officiating. But their specialty for fantastic, like their offense and their defense. We're gonna talk a lot more Cardinals later in the show. Believe you me. I want to see the practice video. How did that go?
Is it like little kids that practice all being like, hey, that's exactly it?
All right?
My rewind that we have to go almost the very end of the Patriots game, but there is that extra bit of overtime because of this Drake Maye just dodging dudes like you's outs there playing dodgeball dot French dot deball a defensive end.
You can't get me, nan No, no, no, no, no.
Eleven point nine to eight second second, longest scrambled the season. That had to feel like an eternity for those Patriot fans. Again this I kept trying to watch it again and again because I couldn't believe my eyes.
It was the same play.
He just kept standing there and then saying it was kudos to the rookie man. That was great, just field movement. Don't know how we saw the whole time. Eventually they do lose in overtime, but great Scrandma.
I know he was tired. I was surprised he didn't tap out.
Oh no, no, no no, no no no. I wasn't no no, I wasn't doing that. I was just saying he was tired because he was like twelve seconds to be like that.
I got you.
I wouldn't take it.
Well, there you have it.
That is the place we had to rewind so nice. We had to see them twice.
Jump over.
Okay, gosh, help me watch the baby. You might be coming up more highlights.
Just kind of look where you're going off. Are you spinning?
That would have been bad.
