Good Morning Football.

Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky. We are live in Los Angeles. I am Sarah Watch filling in for Jamie.

Ertl who is flying back.

From London as we That's right, Jamie.

As you know, probably talking to everyone in seats around.

Jamie likes to socialize on airplanes.

It's fun. Everyone likes it. I'm sure that people talking anywhere don't want her to be quiet. Jamie, we'll talk when you get back. I love you, I miss you. But you know we got it.

We got stuff to settle about air travel conducts.

Come on, so well, Jamie is flying back and talking to everyone.

We all witness Jamie.

Jamie kicked this thing off yesterday. Witness the longest day of football yesterday. From the London kick to the weather delay in Pittsburgh.

That thing finally wrapped up.

It was egos. Lines are playing right now. We should turn it on. They're playing right now.

It is the longest day. I believe I turned my television off at one eleven am Eastern.

Okay, so that's when you turned it off off and then when did you turn it on?

That at four am? Oh for you six am Eastern. I was watching Kyle on the day.

I see it.

Nice to watch that show in the morning and see my guy suited in Buddha. Yeah.

Thanks thanks.

People say I looked like Charlie Sheen in Major League when he has to wear the tie.

It's crazy. I feel like a banker in this you clean up knives. That's okay, guys.

Sometimes I can occasionally not wear a tight shirt. Let's get to the game, though, Enough of Mike clothes and Jamie's airplane in Peters hours, we had a classic primetime seventeen and thirteen Pittsburgh's still up on a fourth and goal.

Dack touchdown Cowboys Jalen tolberts, though it's a rough one, a tough, gritty, back and forth game with the elements and the logos and guys stepping up making plays.

Twenty to seventy Cowboys three and two, Steelers three and two. Afterwards, let's hear from the winning quarterback, unfortunately the losing the head coach on the Cowboys last minute win.

Yeah, there was never a doubt in my mind. I don't think it was a doubt in anybody in that huddle. No, there wasn't. And on the sideline and we're just able to even as I said, getting down there not converting, whether it be the run I had Rico trying to go over the top or the throw right there on the third down. Coach always says, if we have time or downs, we give ourselves a chance and we're able to capitalize on it.

You know, I just told the team there's a fine line between drinking wine and squashing grapes in our business, and you know that's an example of it. You know, that ball was on the ground right there in the red area, and that's the difference. When you played a good team, and particularly a guy like Dak Prescott Man, you're in tight ball games. He ends up with the ball last, he got a chance to lose. And that's really just a synopsis of what transpired.

It was not pretty at times, but Dak and the Cowboys came through when it mattered the most.

So, guys, what did we see in this game that jumped out to you?

Peter First, want to start off something I heard right around midnight, fourth quarter. Let's go to the broadcast. Chris Collinsworth and Mike Turrico.

Hello, fourth quarter begins, Good morning football, It's thirty one.

The clock turned midnight and Tariico goes there. That does striggerstab five if we want to go there. That was unbelievable that it was cool, and that's great, I shout out in front Errico's a man. But the game was that long, Like with the delay, it starts at ten o'clock Eastern, you're up for the London game. You're blearyod and if you watch and fell asleep in the fourth quarter, you missed the ending, which is truly truly symbolic of what this guy is paid for. I'm going to Dak and it was. It was not DAC's night. It was not Dack's knight. No turnovers, turnovers, turnovers throughout this game, and ones that were head scratching. You had collins Worth wondering, like what is going on with Dak Prescott at one point. So that was the fumble and then bad bad interceptions and this one was in the red zone. Different turnovers for Dak. This one here, the deep pass took a shot picked. It looked like this was gonna be one of those nights where we come on on Monday morning and we're.

Like, why do they pay Dak Prescott what they pay Himlet's do it.

Let's go to the phones, and then guess what. In crunch time you find out why they pay Dak Prescott, why they pay him? Fourth down, you're down CDs, crying on talent. This play right here is an unbelievable play. And tomlin knewittt in the post game he said, and I quote, it's the difference between drinking wine and squashing grapes. That's the NFL. What a whine and that's what it is. And then you give him a chance, and then of course on the fourth down play does it. I don't think I'm being exaggerated here. It might save the season in a way because the Commanders are running away with this thing in the nfcas definitely. Now we're still a game behind. We haven't played them yet, Like we're right there. Three and two, Dak steps up, after midnight, after midnight, Dak steps up. So to me, my takeaway is neither one of these teams want to be playing in games where the offense scores twenty or seventeen. But when it mattered most Dak Prescott did step up, and that has not been the narrative for his career, but internally there in Dallas, they know they can look to him, and without all these players on defense and with all these you know, questions on offense, Dak press out found a way when it mattered most.

Can you tell me the Tomlin line again? What's the line that he said.

There is a thin line between drinking wine and squashing grapes.

I think it's appropriate because the cowboys in this state last night, they were like the grape lady.

Remember from Ebomb's World. We're stopping. We're stopping.

The ladies still lying there because you know, all the defensive guys are hurt.

Seed he's not having a big day.

It was as if the great Lady got off her feet, got back up.

And started squashing grapes again.

What I mean by that, it's like, I don't know where you've gone, Irvin and Emmet. We're doing this with lipke yep, A guy named Rico Tolberts.

Do you understand the significance.

We're talking about Dallas Cowboys and the most glamorous thing in all sports. And I hit Peter with an ad libed where did Hunter Lipke go to school and Peter doesn't know that doesn't happen. A guy making place for the Cowboys in primetime, you know him, and he's been clutched his whole sit like they rely on it. But that's the point. Peter Lippke's supposed to be covering kickoffs. We're number forty, Like Bill Bates back to the day, he's doing it by turning his rings around and just saying, let's go to war. This is a gritty Dak press. And they weren't supposed to win that game. It was a perfect Pittsburgh night and the elements. There was a majestic myst in the stadium, Snoop Dog with the terrible yew and he's not the letter, and you know TJ gets his one hundred sack and it's history and let's close the deal.

Dak said, I don't give a damn. We're gonna win this thing.

I'm gonna lip key and reco my way through this. This ceedy lamb at sixty two yards not a huge factor. I remember before the season, we're looking at the Cowboys depth chart and we're saying, like, I think CD needs to have like a two thousand yard season of them to make the playoffs. They just don't have the firepower and they still don't. But they still won, and they're three and two. They're right there three and two. We've seen a lot of impressive Cowboys wins and they just show and they flex their muscles and all their talent. This was a gritty, undermanned Dallas Cowboys win on the road. I think it's really impressive. I have no skeptical take. I have no like snide remark. Really impressive win in a game that a lot of other quarterbacks wouldn't have won.

And in that whole weather delay when they're in the locker room, Dak Prescott was going around telling guys, this is the one we're going to remember.

We're going to remember this game.

And I think at the end of the day, they're going to remember this game and this win as the win that saved their season, because I really think it goes the other way what you're looking at as a team that's starting to slide. I mean, this was a win I think that can turn this season around. There's a stat it's not going to be in any kind of box score, but it jumps out to me game ball went to Mike McCarthy. Here's Mike McCarthy's stats eighteen years as a head coach, twenty four years in the NFL. That is the first time he has ever received a game ball.

And again, I mean it doesn't that seem crazy.

Rob has never tossed him one after one of those wins.

Say this is for Big Mike, never.

Any That's the stat that stood out to me. And I know game ball doesn't really count for anything, but when you've coached for that long and you've been in coaches get the ball, and game ball you hear about.

Is how great a coach Mike Tomlin is and how tom and you go into his building and he's a Pittsburgh guy, Western Pennsylvania, you know, grew up the whole thing. He goes in there and he gets that win. That's a cool moment for Mike McCarthy.

And Dak talked about the fact that he into Mike's parents' house and he wanted to get the vibe of his hometown. And so I think it's just a little glimpse into you know, everybody wants to pick apart Mike McCarthy and this team and are they falling apart, and don't worry, we're gonna We're gonna pick it apart in a couple of seconds.

Here we'll talk about Cee Leab.

We have to Peter before we go to Does the Great Lady have a pod yet?

She out there?

Do listen to that podcast?

Pods?

Let's talked to us, partner, Let's go.

It's it, Great Lady, shout us out sometimes up. I hope you're still with us.

We've got some big injuries to get to this week, and that's why we want to bring in our Ian or rappapor Ian.

Let's start with the five and Oh Vikings.

Aaron Jones left the game in the first half of yesterday's win over the Jets.

What's the latest on him?

Aaron Jones, the Vikings stand out running back after a really tough, gritty win for them.

By the way, Aaron Jones going to.

Have an MRI today just to see what damages in on that hip you mentioned it left the game early, was ruled out pretty quickly thereafter. This doesn't seem like a major injury on its face, So Kevin O'Connell saying right after the game that he believed you'd be short and the schedule does them some favors too. They have a buye coming up, so there is a real chance, depending on the results of the MRI, that Aaron Jones could be back after the bye. They saw a ton of a ton more carriage than usual for ty Chandler yesterday for Minnesota, Nico Collins, the Texans standout receiver, actually the NFL's leading receiver, really has emerged, kind of going from under the radar to getting the respect he deserves. He right on that play right there, suffered a hamstring injury, kind of felted grab at him. Tamiko Ryan's the head coach, describing it as day to day. They're gonna get some weapons back on offense, some running backs back coming shoot, including Joe Mixon, but potentially looking at Nico Collins missing some time. And then for the Miami Dolphins, Devon eight Chan, their speedy running back, he left the game with the concussion. Now in the NFL's concussion protocol.

The good news health.

Wise there was raeh Heem most had almost one hundred dollards from scrimmage, so he is clearly back, but now based on how he responds to the concussion, the Daviagil, you can get potentially Devon eight chen out for this.

Coming week, and thank you so much.

Of course, the Dolphins got to win yesterday despite all the university they have been facing. Meanwhile, back to the Cowboy, you know what they needed to win yesterday because they've got to keep pace with this guy right here, Kyle Daniels, Washington, the top.

The NFC East.

Can the rookie quarterback lead the Commanders to a division.

Title that is coming up?

Lest their lights to crazy train? Yeah, we've been playing.

This is incredible feed.

We got to park at the Moon too.

What I we got out to say?

It's because of London.

I then okay, great, yeah we're London.

I'm telling you we can go deep. No more tears. I don't know if we have that one. Zach Wild guitar solo amazing plus Vikings defense. Great day for them.

Lot to unwrap with them, a lot to unwrap with the Packers. I imagine the teams are back by now, right then they fly.

All day and after the Vikings are actually leaving now really texting with a Viking source. They had not left yet this morning, so I'll stay the night. They enjoyed themselves.

It's cool that you're text with Darnold.

Good Morning Football.

Welcome back to Good Morning Football. Gino Smith entered Week five leading the league in passing yards more than eleven hundred. Daniel Jones, no Devin Singletary, no Malik Neighbors.

Fourth quarter, see I don't know trailing. This is the play of the game. That was Isaiah.

Simmons with the block Bryce Ford Wheaton returning at sixty yards for the touchdowns to give the Giants the victory. By the way, Simmons, it was just out of the field goal block team this week.

Well you know what it worked.

Next up for the Giants, they got Thursday Night football, got a win to sit on for the next couple of days.

Let's go Browns versus Washington. Jaden Dana is looking to continue his hot starts. This guy has more scoring drives and incompletions this year, Commanders rolling thirty four to thirteen.

Peter, it was major trendy written into your shot sheet. Oh oh, you knew that I had that one? All right.

Well that's the Union Jack and that's Sam Darnold front right. First, all kinds of accolades. Here's Aaron Rodgers, and Garrett wasn't hugging it out. They would have a lot of contact in this one. Minnesota up three night there, Ben Kinkele Andrew ben Ginkel. He has four career interceptions, three of them are picked sixes. He got Daniel Jones earlier, He's got Rogers now, he got both New Jersey football teams. He's got to get Josh Allen to complete the whole tri state area.

So here you go.

Darnold weren't to talk about him in a bit. Took a huge hit in the first half and really wasn't the same in the second. They lost Aaron Jones. Can the Jets Dophs get anything? First in goal, looking waiting, really good protection, credit to the O line. And there's Garrett Wilson second touchdown of the year, a nice, quick little one over to the left side, and we got a ball game.

And then there's this.

I mean, we didn't get to show a lot of the contact, but he was down six, had a chance to be a hero. He's intercepted by Stefan Gilmore. Rodgers then went down to the referee and was screaming and won on a penalty.

And there it is for the second week.

In row.

There is your bench shot of your savior. I lost guys there it is twenty three to seventeen. The Jets are two and three. But more importantly, we really should pay tribute to this five and O Vikings. Five and O Vikings headed into the buy after the game. The intrepid Stacy Dale's, who was all over this thing with our friend Jamie Rdahl, caught up with Jay Jetta Justin Jefferson after the win.

Justin Jefferson, I just felt like it looked exhausting today.

Would that be a good word to describe it.

I wouldn't say exhausting off like, we didn't play well on the officsive side of the ball. You know, we didn't have any energy. I mean, we had energy in ourselves, but we didn't make the place to, you know, contribute the energy.

So I mean, it's definitely a tough win.

We definitely got to give thanks Style defense today for giving us this dub. But offensively it wasn't good enough.

Okay, So there's another gritty win.

And sometimes the mark of a good team is winning when you didn't have your best game, and they certainly didn't feel like they did. So what stood out to you about how Minnesota was able to pull that one off.

Well, we got to do the thing where we pay tribute to the Vikings, right, I mean, like there's a lot of Jets talk the Vikings are five and zero.

And also listen, they won the game.

Aaron Jones was out, like almost immediately, they lose their best running back.

There was a hit that Sam.

Donald took in the first half that was not shown in the highlight that personally, just watching the entire game, I think he was really banged up. I was wondering if he had broken ribs after this or bruise ribs. He was down, he was turtally and he comes back in and he's super tough. In the second half. I don't feel like he was finishing his throws. He didn't look anything like he has looked for the first four and a half weeks, and the Vikings still win.

Peter, what do you make in Minnesota.

Let's get to the jem Well, I look at the defense. I mean I'm really quick. I mean, Brian Flores has been one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL this season. And you see the Van Ginkell interception, and then you see the Gilmour interception. These are Flora's guys. Flora's had Van Ginkell in Miami. He coached Gilmore for years in New England. They're all speaking the same language, and it's like, as we do this, Sam Donald MVP flips and I know he got her yesterday and didn't play his best game. The defense has been the story for me because you look at the offensives. They've silence Houston Texans are blowing everybody out, Bobby Slow like they did nothing against the Vikings, nine Shanahan, all the stuff. They did nothing against the Vikings, and then here comes this Hacket offense that you're thinking, all right, Aaron Rodgers, he's owned the Vikings over the course of his career. No, he didn't. Three picks had nothing at the end, and it was obviously picked by Gilmore and they beat him off. So you're not going to find superstars all over this defense. Daniel Hunter's not there anymore. Harrison Smith is coming off the edge here and you know his name, but like the day that Jared Allen is there and getting honored and you know, doing the whole skull chick all that. Like, I think the defense was a story here and that was not Darnold's best day in Minnesota. Still found a way to win and stay five and zero.

Peter just watching these highlights of Rogers get hit. I mean, I'm sitting here flinching every time I see him just get whacked like that, and you showed it in the highlight the one.

I mean, I literally am sitting there watching the game.

And if you're a fan with you like to just not there was that moment of I'm like, oh my god, it came all the way back.

He worked so hard.

To get back from that Achilles, this is it. And there was that dramatic moment you said got back in the game quickly, but it felt like, you know, he's going to the tent and then it was like this, it felt like out of a movie, like no, right, Like he just grabs helmet.

Daniel Larusso's going to fight. Yeah, in that.

Moment it seems so dramatic.

I'm like, oh my god, despite all all the mistakes, like they're going to come back. They did, and Rogers called the three interception game out of character.

What do you make about how that offense? Because here we sit now and it's not pretty.

Look, we could blame the offense, you can blame the defense, you can blame a million things like this isn't right. You're not supposed to be two and three for the New York Jets, and you went all in on this season. They have one of the biggest payrolls, They've got a forty one year old quarterback come back from this trip, and I don't feel great about this. I had the Jets going number one in the AFC and Rodgers being the MVP. Couldn't be more wrong through five weeks, and yet I look at that AFC East Bills have now lost two in a row. The Dolphins still don't have TUA. Patriots looked like the worst team in football. I'm not calling quits on this team. Yet this has not been good. Yeah, they have no rhythm with these wide receivers Rogers. It's now October, like we have to get this going. But I look at this schedule up ahead, and you know, Bills, Steelers, Patriots, Texans were the competitors. But like you go two and two, you go three and one, you're right in this thing still, And if you're the Jets, just hang around, hang around till late and hopefully they get their chemistry going. Look, it wasn't pretty. And you're watching this yesterday as a Jets fan and you're wondering, what is Salad doing. So there's a lot of questions. But I don't think Salaz was in his job this morning, and I don't think that the Jets should be in this mass hysteria, which the fans certainly are online.

It's really strange to watch outside of Cleveland. There's no offense that looks more awkward right now or more inept, and there's a really interesting barometer and by which to measure how awkward Rogers is right.

Now in that offense. So we had the Van Geinkle pick six to go ahead and show it.

Rogers drops back, Van Ginkle reads it, grabs it, He's gone.

I thought it was interesting.

Earlier this week, Rogers was talking about the Vikings defense and he goes, I like the guy from Miami with the long hair.

That's how he referred to him. So that's a pick six for Rogers. I want you to really think about this. Rogers has been in the league twenty years. That is his fifth pick six in twenty years. He does not throw them.

He is an incredible protector of the football, let alone interceptions that are bad enough to get returned five years for context, gimm you look at compared to his peers, how rare it is for Rogers to make this mistake Brett fav to thirty two times. Let's pick six breeze twenty seven, twenty seven five. Do you understand that he does not do that? So I'm saying he's doing it now. He just did it in a game that's supposed to be week five of a new start, in a fresh season, and all these things were here, supposed to be so comfortable with his coordinator and his receivers, it still looks that awkward. Guys, you throw over fifty passes and barely was over two hundred yards. It's way, way, way out of sort. And I hate to be so knee jerk and so attention grab you. But when they land is DeVante on the tarmac with an edible arrangement, Santa, I'm a Jet now, because why don't you do that?

There's two choices the Jets have right now. They say, well, we'll.

Just dig deeper and just hope and that chemistry is going to blow him in the AFC East is maybe not running away with it, or say what are we waiting for? He wants to be traded, Rogers wants him here. Why not do it? I feel like, if this is it, go in. If you're going on death row and you get your last meal, get on order the grilled chicken, you get the bucket of KFC and the pudding and the load does and everything, let's just do it.

I'll go one step for why not? I'll go one step further on this. If you're solo and you're Joe Douglasses, if you don't make the playoffs, do you think there are you think I would go for it also and say, I mean it might as well. I don't worry about this team three years, four years down the road. If I give up a future first round pick or a future second round pick, I might I'm able to use them. So I'm with you. I think the Jets should be But gosh, you sure are given Rogers everything he wants, and then some that.

Ship is sailed.

And like Douglas and Slid, they knew what they were getting into in his backyard of Malibu, and like on sitting down, here's this is what they're getting into. You go and get him DeVante now and if he doesn't have enough, then you trade for Mercedes Lewis and then you just do whatever You've already made that bed. Why do a half measure and say, oh, let's let DeVante go to the Saints.

No, bring them there? What the hell you're two and three guys, you're going nowhere?

Yeah, before we even brib Dvante's name and you were talking about it and you said they went all in. And the first thing that went in the back of my mind you said all in them, like did they Yeah?

You checked out with her Jets fans friends. I had a text yesterday. What are they saying?

I mean, they don't want solid their back, they don't want Joe Dougla like, everyone's absolutely beside themselves, and it's that they feel foolish that they let themselves believe. But guess what, it's October. It's a long season.

Three. They look really rough.

They looked really good in training camp though, so I'm not giving up of us.

That's good, all right.

I think we have by I don't know if his phone's going on.

Maybe he can help us out with these questions.

Ian Rappaport back with us as we saw in the highlight and it was a painful one to watch Aaron Rodgers just getting banged up. There is this something that the Jets should be worried about.

A lot of good conversations going on. We'll talk about the conversations inside the Jets building in one second. But yes, Aaron Rodgers was banged up. Certainly a scary moment for the Jets quarterback. I want to do the same thing as you guys. Are we going to do this whole thing again? Rodgers gets there, we get all excited, and then is out for a long period of time. Does not seem to be the case. A low ankle spray for Aaron Rodgers in the fact that he is an extra day this week to get ready for Monday Night football bodes well for him being able to play and obviously finish the game missed minimal time. But yes, let's talk about DeVonta Adams. Help could be on the way for the New York Jets. Could be today or tomorrow. That's how quickly this thing could happen. Devonte Adams, minunderstanding is nearing full health from his hamstring. That would mean he is able to be traded the Saints actually have been the most aggressive team as far as talking to the Raiders and trying to get DeVonta Adams.

But the Jets are for sure in it.

There's going to be some more conversations today just about where they stand.

How high should they go?

The Raiders have been very clear privately they would like at least a second round pick.

Will the Jets go there?

And will they get Aaron Rodgers.

This big chess piece that he has been recruiting for the last several weeks. We will find out very quickly, all right, and thank.

You so much. Clock is ticking. How high will they go?

Peter?

I mean no limit?

Right? I don't know.

That's the thing.

I don't know if you do give Rogers everything he want. But to your point, he wanted Randall Cobb, they got him. That they wanted Alan Lazard, they got him. That is this now is where we draw the line on one of the best wide receivers in football. But I you know, from league wide perspective, I don't think there's a long list of teams clamoring for a thirty two year old wide receiver who makes fourteen million dollars. The rest of the way, who's demanding trades after our team won last week. I mean, Adams comes with his own, you know, set of stuff, and it's like, I don't think there's locker room issues in New York, but I look at the way Sala and Hackett and Rogers and the dynamic there and whether it's believed, perceived and true or not. I do think Rogers has a big voice in the building and they've not said no many times. If ever, if Rogers walks in there today and it's like, get me Davante, you better believe they're going to be calling Vegas and saying, let's talk about Deavante. But gosh, they paid that's and after this season the contract explodes, it's like fourteen for the remainder of this year. Then it's you're paying like twenty thirty, like wild numbers, and that's a salary cap, Hettick. But to your point, you're all in for this season. You have a forty one year old quarterback, you made all these moves. Do you just say screw it, let's go, let's get them and let's try to hope that maybe he's the savior.

Yeah, I mean I get lost it next season, Like is it all worth it to just like, oh we get to the division around this year. I think it is. And it's not just the Rogers thing. It's not just the optics of these I mean you just watch the offense. It's so bad. There's a palpable lack of chemistry everywhere. He targeted Garrett wasn't twenty two times yesterday, and yet it feels like every time there's a big play, like Rogers just throwing to Alan Lazard and this is not wake up and disrespect all Lazzard day. He's a nice player who works really hard. I don't think that that's the guy right there. And I think if it was another team or another system, like we wouldn't see a lot of Allen Lazard next week. But Rogers likes him and he's comfortable with him. The last play at the end, it's intercepted, like there are different planets the receiver and they're not even close. So you're not just getting Davantec as Rogers wants it. What if it was just not Rogers, it was another quarterback and you're just like, a great receiver is available, we're two and three and we should go and get him. I just see if you don't get him. You're just saying this is us, this is the team, this is not the team. It looks terrible, honestly on offense.

Receiver at third two, was there big Friegent exquisition.

No Mike Williams, and it was just nothing.

Every drive for the Jets is like, awkward, terrible run, Rogers under pressure, short passed, it's incomplete, third nine, and then hopefully Garrett Wilson makes a great catch and moves the chains. Awkward terrible run. It's just it's so bad. There's you know, you've see the x's in those people. There's no motion, there's no this it's fine. It is so stagnant and tense. And then at the end of every series there's a cut away of him like looking at Hackett like he wants to kill him.

The only reason.

Hackett is there is because Rogers is there, and it's it's just so awkward. It's so awkward. Fixes seven days from now, whether Davante is there or not.

Home Monday night football, Buffalo Bills, and I'll say this a win seasons, Okay, we're a loss at home.

Not good.

Let me give you a guy that had a very big voice that got whatever he wanted.

Tom Brady in Tampa.

They had Mike Evans point, they had Chris Godwin, they had Rob Gronkowski.

It's pretty loaded. And then he said, I want Antonio Brown.

And you want to talk about a guy, you said, well, Davante brings his own bag. I mean, look what Antonio brownbing brings. And Tom says I want him. They go out and get them. And how did that end?

With a Super Bowl?

All right? Bill's Texas had something of everything. There's Stefan Diggs used play for the Bills. He was really, really good.

He's gone. Now there's Josh Allen, who let me just fine without Diggs. Right, uniforms were nuts. I liked him, I really liked him. In fact, now they wanted them so they can don't have to say, oh, never wear those again.

This gets bad.

Alan He's just this giant labrador of muscle and sinew.

He never gets hurt.

But he's down and it looks like he's out. It's a terrible replay in which he said.

He had a junior chest injury.

All right, Josh, he goes very quickly into the tents. They look at him, they say, get back in there. Sport and he does. But then this is bizarre. After two passes, already on a third and ten, the Bills go again to pass.

We're on end zone.

Three straight incompletions. Houston has all three timeouts, they punch C. J. Strodd makes a play and then they kick a game when he kick and that's it.

That's over.

Afterwards, McDermott, we're going to talk about it. Took full responsibility for the clock management the end for the Bills, a game they really didn't have any business winning because they didn't play well at all on offense, and yet they almost had it.

Kymie Fairburn gets carried off. That's what they do to kickers.

Now, twenty three to twenty Texans four and one really good team.

They're only lost. Of course, the NF did Vikings.

A lot of chatter afterwards about close friend of the show Sean McDermott and his play calling and the time management, and he addressed it after the game.

Yeah, I mean, when you talk about three hold three timeouts where we were, they've got a really strong leg field goal kicker. We knew that there's a potential. You know, the situation goes three straight runs, you're running six seconds off potential each time, and you're maybe in a similar situation, you know, So either way, we got to do better job.

And that starts with me being aggressive. Coach is going to trust us to go out there and do that. Aw she would love to convert there, and hindsight's twenty twenty. But yeah, when go back and run it three times and who knows what the result is going to be. But that's how it played out.

It's going to be picked part. It was a topic after the game. Imagine sports talk radio today. It's going to be all over the place. You heard McDermott what he said, taking the blame there. You look at how that ending unfolded. Kyle though, and what do you think?

Well, the Bills guys have a point. I understand.

They say, okay, so we run three crappy runs in a row, they call three time outs, and then we punt it and they have a bunch of time. Can you try one, maybe you pop one, maybe you have an eight yard run. It was one of those things as a fan you're watching and you're actually yelling what are they doing? What are they doing at the screen. It wasn't just that they should just run dives up the middle. It's like one of them was a deep bomb.

That had no shot.

Alan had nothing going all game passing wise, and suddenly you're backed.

Up, You're on inzon.

You're like, let's get fifty or sixty yards in the next thirty seconds.

We can try a field goal attempt.

It felt in real time like you don't have the sense of what's going on in the game. I don't need them to run three full back dives, Peter, but let's run just a few plays. Maybe we throw it out to the flat. I'm not Bill Walts over her calling play at it. Everybody understands that there was something off about that, and the fact that McDermott came out right away and effectively apologized it was a tough moment.

It was brutal, and I think you know their compensation on that response is like, Okay, we run it three times right up the middle, and who knows. They're well, we're not asking you to hand about a Sam gash r handball to Kenneth Davis and just fall down. We know it's a tie game. Maybe some different play designs, maybe one run, maybe two runs. But I look at something a little different in this thing, like does Josh have enough playmakers? Don't do this thing. I don't like we did a whole We did all these flips about you know, Josh Allen first four weeks, and look how great he is without those guys, and like, you know, who could have used yesterday Stefan Diggs type player Like Diggs was good. Yesterday, Digs was Saludi had like six catches eighty yards And I know that was big drama, but like they bo He and Gabe Davis are no longer there, and those were big time players for the Buffalo Bills. And I know Bills fans are watching me like we did not lose the game because Stefon Diggs was not on the team. I'm not saying Biggs, I'm saying a Diggs esque player, and that they didn't go all in this offseason. In fact, they kind of held the rains. They're like, we're going to rely on mac Hollins and Keon Coleman and Shakir who wasn't out there. I thought they actually like some deficiencies in their playmakers and their abilities were actually very evident yesterday in that game. And I don't think it was a Sefon Diggs plus mind wasn't about Sevon Digs. I was like, oh, well, where is that Digs like player? And maybe it's because Shaki was hurt.

You know what I love, going back to the Stefan Diggs thing is that players always leading up to the game, they're like, I don't care, this is a revenge game. I think Jamie reported on Sam Darnold going against the Jets and like this is not out of my mind. And then as soon as they win the game, Diggs like, yeah, everyone knew how much it meant to me, Like it's.

Just a total reversal.

And it's the same thing too, when guys go, I don't listen to the outside noise, and then on the flip side, they always like but I hear what they're saying, like everyone pulls both sides. I just go to like what's next? And you brought it up because Jets Monday Night football? Where's this Bills team? Not just this game, but then the Bills lost before that and now and you know it's going to turn into this, especially probably who needs it more? Right, So forget about the Jets side of that equation.

Bills go on Monday Night Football?

Where is the state of this Bills team right now after what we saw in Houston. That's what the Ravens did, and now you get a Jets team that is also desperate.

Where the Bills going.

To your point, the division very winnable still, but the state of the Bills and the playmakers, I don't know. I don't think you're no longer sitting there going yet We're up there with the tops in the AFC.

It's like, there's we used to have an old buddy of ours whould tell us from inside the Bills that the chatter was always it's just Josh b Superman and that's the franchise.

And that was when Diggs was there. There was a moment in this game.

Yesterday when Josh got knocked out and it was a really big possession in the Texas territory and it's like, all right, Mitch.

Trubisky needs to throw a touchdown pass.

To mac Hollins. Yeah, we know those guys. We got a lot of history with those guys. They're trying to beat the Texans on the road, that's not it. And it seems this year that they tempted the devil with how far can we go with Josh do everything.

I like Khalil shik here too.

I like Dalton Kinkaid, But Josh doing everything is now through five weeks. It's three and two, and Peter, you started the show saying, Oh, the Jets are two and three and they can work it out. The Bills can't, too. Totally scored thirty points in their first three games. The Texans are very good on defense, and yet it was a historically weird statistical day for Alan. Yes, you can look it up. He's never played like that. No one's really ever played like He just couldn't complete anything. So the all this, if you're afraid of the Digs was everything to us and more important than we realized. Yesterday was your nightmare, and it's another loss. They're three and two.

The Jets don't look like But I would also say, you know, you look at the AFC as a whole. The Ravens seem like to be like they got their thing going. The Texans seem to have you going. Chiefs don't have any weapons either. And this might come down to Patrick and Josh, the two guys we've been talking about for so long, just carrying their teams on their backs right to the finish with a giant anchor like, Okay, I got no one left here, let's go and that includes Kelsey right now, Like I've got these guys, We're gonna take them, and it's gonna be these two guys, and who knows, maybe one of them does find themselves playing in New Orleans at the end and they say, well, that guy just was the best player in the league and found a way despite having a lack of weapons Compared to what else is out there.

I feel like there's a there's like a mcguyver compared full.

Meme too, right, there's gotta be something Spider Man.

Maybe I don't know, but give us something with it. They don't have the tools to work with. You have to make a it is.

It is a bit the Spider Man meme, except Patrick has rings all over his hand and Josh has none. You want to just go after Josh and they're in the exact same sitution.

Definitely not and we're just scratching surface. We got much more Good Morning football coming.

Up that come off a meme.

Gratrudas.

I think that's one of my who am I to say?

Good Morning football?

They're certainly celebrating in Baltimore, the Ravens pulling out the overtime win against the Bengals on Sunday after Lamar Jackson fumbled nearly costing them the game. But it was a touchdown by Lamar Jackson just one of the craziest plays of the weekend.

After fumbling the snap, He's still able to scramble to the.

Sideline somehow finding Isaiah like in the end zone for the touchdown. Here's what Derrick Henry had to say about Jackson's play on Sunday.

That was like the third MVP level for him.

That was like, Yeah, that one of the kind of game, just especially the one when he was he was getting sacked, got out of the pocket, kept running down, alos out of the bounced up all back to say. That was just you know, that's why Lamar is who Lamar is and best player in the league.

He's a goat for a reason.

All right, Well, coming out the place, you need to see twice to believe maybe that one was it, or maybe something from London last night. You got rewind at that segment is next.

So rewind it.

You're up the first year.

I love this chest tape for our friends. Why do you love that because it's the throwback. You know what else was a throwback? Yeah, those uniforms, the Broncos, Yes, really Sars crushed.

By playing the days.

Patrick's a Tan here, beautiful play by Minshew on the play action. Tan takes it.

This was the distance.

And he looks like one of those like champ Bailey. You're like one of these, but even before champ Bailey, because this is the Orange crush here is this is seventy, this is Dowel, this style. Patrick Sittan might very well be the best defensive back in all of football. And this Broncos defense, I'm.

Gonna Peter, I'm sorry. He's fighting so hard he knows what time.

And you know, it's just something of beauty. The shout out to the Broncos and those throwback uniforms and a three and two teams who's right in the mix.

And the US.

Hey, we're going to a punter.

We don't often have punters, any of the Packers punter.

You like this one class grab. There were Packers fans after this.

Yeah, Daniel Wheeland, why is this guy not a receiver for us? By the way, if you didn't know your Daniel Wheeling back from from Ireland, grew up in Ireland, came over, we're here, starred at Rancher Mirage High School, playing soccer and rugby, and then someone said, you know.

Like a lot of times of soccer players, why don't you come kick for us?

And the best fun back before he got in the NFL was folding towels at the Montage Laguna beachs.

He's like, wow, seems like a play stage.

Peter would stay here.

Yeah, definitely, Wow, that's incredible. It's a really nice there.

And then that's it on the rebel spather, no go on.

Yeah, so I went there the night I got engaged.

I'm not gonna be there, Thank you very Look at the soft hands. Those are towel folding hands right there. Have an incredible catch. Thank you, and my wife and I still together. From one Daniel to another, Daniel Jones had a day, The Giants had a day.

But this is my favorite cutaway. They call it.

This is after the block field goal, and this is someone who, respectfully, it's not been a ton of winning, and he doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know where to put his hands, he doesn't know who to high five. He goes up here, and then it's what should I what should I should I do?

This thing? That was pretty welcome Butler, yes, that was pretty up and down.

He's as if he was on the team who kicked out block.

That's usually a negative reaction, but it's like, look at him.

He won bingo or something.

G two Daniel, Yeah, come on up and claim your prize.

I'm happy for this guy.

He played well yesterday the Giants got to win. I can just watched this on a loop over and over.

There's seven. You know that girl who tries that thing and goes like and she can't make it for you know what, lady, that's Daniel Joes.

You can't decide does she like it?

That's him?

Daniel great congratulates the Giants a lot.

That's right, Giants.

I see these and you know what I think.

Remember back in the day you had to make eight hundred copies of bees to get a job on TV.

Just end like a length, like like you're real. Back in the day, kids are soft.
