Good Morning Football.
Welcome to Good Morning Football, brought to you by our friends at Old Trapper Beef Turkey our live coast to coast LA. Here Peter Schrager in New York. It is finally Friday. I'm Sherry buris Arias ak Barbaja Biamelle here with us. Also man Tito at the table. It is a busy day in La. The Dodgers starting the World Series. But Peter, we also had just across the street. It was a busy night at Sofi Stadium. Welcome back Poka Nakua and Cooper cut My goodness.
No doubt.
If you want to put it properly, it's the Yankees start our World Series run tonight in La.
Sorry, I said that backwards?
Should we get should we get this? Some highlights here?
Let's go damn one it last night it's.
A third go Rams versus Vikings. It was awesome, This was an amazing event and felt it. Look at these two guys back, what's the Geico caveman ad That's what it looked like with Cooper Cup out there, long hair and ready to go.
Nakua and cup.
All right, then the controversial play of the week Matthew Stafford in his own end zone less than I mem sorry, Sam Darnold.
And clearly it's a face mask, yet no flag.
It's under two minutes, it's a scoring play, so clearly we can review it. Right, No, under no conditions can you review a face mask to safety? The Rams to get the ball, they take a knee and.
That's the game.
Thirty to twenty.
Rams beat the Vikings. Stafford goes for two seventy nine and four tugs. But afterwards we speak to the head coach. When it was a very busy week in LA.
For the Rams, I thought it was great, just a boost for our team to be able to get two experienced guys that were ready to go. They were chomping at the bit.
They had been prepared.
Obviously, we really don't practice leading into this game. You get like twenty full speed reps and those are still minimal as is.
It's all above the neck.
But I thought Matthew had a look in his eye where he was going to be ready to go, and it's like, hey, you're coming with me because we're going to go do this thing. The right way, and he thought he got through progressions. I mean he looked like Alcaaz on the court, escaping the two rushers to be able to throw Cooper Cup his touchdown.
That was a good one.
Man, Give me a courtesy laugh at least, but he was I really I think, you know, we've got to build on this, and it's one game. I'm really pleased with the resolve and the response of this team coming off of the buy, and now we got to keep this momentum going.
I chuckled coach at Alkaz. I liked that comment in your press conference. But Peter, I want to circle back to first. We got to start with that controversial ending to the game last night with the missed face mask call.
It looked like you really got a hand on it.
But as you sort of said in the highlight, that's not a reviewabal play.
Why can you tell us, Yeah, let's explain this. I mean, clearly it's a face mask. It is if you want to see the plays. He gets cleared right, but there was no flag.
The officials didn't see it. So you say it's under two minutes and it's a scoring play.
Review it go to New.
York by the letter of the law, it can't be reviewed.
After the game.
There's the pool reporter. Reporter is assigned to be able to speak to the officials. A reporter did ask the lead referee, Jerome Blake, was there a discussion on the field, because obviously the Vikings are complaining about it. Did your crew of a discussion like, hey, did we miss this or anything like that on the field? In Blake to the pool reporter responded, on the field, we definitely discussed it, because they did bring it up. We discussed it as a crew, but we weren't able to see it on the field, so we weren't able to make that call. Remember, letter of the law is that play reviewable. It's not reviewable.
So Vikings fans, we hear you.
NFL fans who are watching objectively or not so objectively, we see you. It's clearly a face mask. But the resident's see it. It's a human error. It's what it is. So complain all you want in the rule books. This is a non reviewable play. It's one of the few penalties that is simply just non reviewable, regardless of two minutes, regardless of what it is. But I also think Sherry, they're down eight with less than two minutes to go.
In the back of their end zone.
I don't want to take to win away from the La Rams over a play that was yes, significant, but also was not exactly a scoring play at the other end zone, I would have decided the game.
Yeah, a lot to unpack there. I know there's a lot of unhappy vikings fans with that.
But the Rams, we got to give them their flowers. They looked very different last night.
A large things to Puka Nakua and Cooper Cup back out there on the field, Banta. I saw you have a reaction there just to the face mask.
But overall, what did.
You really like and what did this tell you about the Rams?
What that I like? What did I love?
I mean, if you were ever guessing what impact two people could have on a team, just watch not only the impact that Pooka and Cup had when they had the ball.
And they got the ball, especially Puoka.
Fair amount, but watch the way that that whole team rallied, especially the way that those holes opened up for Kien Williams Richard Sherman that identified it at halftime, How wide those holes were, how big those I think he was averaging around five to six yards per carry. Karen Williams I said yesterday, all you need to do is get this young man in the low red zone and turn the ball over to him, and good things happen. It's been happening all year. He ran the angle route for that touchdown in the first quarter, similarly to how he did it against the forty nine ers. Karen Williams is automatic down there. But when you have Cooper Cup and you have Puka Nakua, I mean, Shrek g pointed out, they were doubled all game long.
So what does that do, guys? I don't know.
I don't remember Minnesota blitzing a lot last night, do you? And this is a team that has the highest blitz rate in the NFL.
But I did not see them blitz a lot. And these are the time type of effects.
That having Cooper Cup in that has, that that having Pooka Nicole in has on a team, for your team and the defending team.
It was so nice to watch.
It was nice to see Matt Stafford get into his groove smile again. And it reminded me of Rise of the Skywalker when all hope was lost and they think they're they're they're defeated, and then Lando's fleet shows up.
That was Pooka and Nicole and that was Cooper Cup. So I loved watching the last night's game.
Yeah, it was.
I mean, you talked about you know, Brian Flores, we talked about that that pressure that we like to see out of that Vikings defense. Very aggressive defense. But the when you look at the way this game was played, being able to establish the run with Kyroen Williams on first and second down, that made it very, very difficult. And on top of that, you looked at a lot of the pre snap motion that the Rams had. They were doing that stuff back and forth. Nobody runs pre snap motion more than the Rams, and that can make it extremely difficult on the defense. And I thought one of the biggest glaring differences with the Vikings defense is the fact that they don't have Blake Cashman. I mean, if you think about Blake not being there to be able to that middle linebacker, being able to get the play call and make all of those adjustments, it was a lot of adjustments.
To be made in that game.
But you know, I want to go into the Rams because the Rams, to me, they showed something. They just showed us that they were playing on that low battery mode. You know, low battery mode when you get to yet a little yellow sign. I don't have everything, but once you have everything operating in full power, man, they were exciting. It was fun. It was a fun game to watch. Now, I will say this, I don't know about all that conversation about Cooper Cup being traded.
That seems a little ridiculous.
In fact, that seems really ridiculous to even think about trading Cooper Cup because that offense was totally different, different when we saw Pooka Nakua, Kyron Williams and of course Cooper Cup going at it, and it made a big difference for Kiro Williams.
Well, you know, I'm close to this acbar, someone who does reporting on this network and someone who is often out there on the front lines.
I've got a relationship with Rams. And people look to me and.
Say, well, there's reports out there that Pukuna Kua is out for the next twenty one days.
What do you say, I say, hold on, and there's.
Reports out here that Cooper Cup is going to have to, you know, be shipped off.
And I said, when I say, yesterday in the show.
I said, if they win tomorrow, put that stuff away. Put that stuff away if they win tomorrow. And I stand by that report. I think people were jumping the gun and McVeigh seemed rather peeved after the game. He said, yes, people called us, but reports that we were calling around shopping Cooper Cup that speculation, also speculation is ever putting this team down before they're actually eliminated.
I am so impressed with the way that.
This team has rallied around itself in a matter of five days, winning two games and found themselves right back in the thicket things in the NFC playoff picture. Consider this. They were one in four going into their bye week. Stafford was with me on NFL Kickoff at Fox.
We were all talking and.
He said, we are not done yet, Like we got to get our guys back.
Injuries matter, but hang in there. Well, they go and they beat.
The Raiders, and then four days later they go and they take care of business against what was hyped up as one of the most pressure filled, blitz happy team. Flores couldn't blitz Manti. You nailed it. When you have Nicua and Cup, you have to cover those guys and account for them. It's also why DeMarcus Robinson's able to score these touchdowns. He's on single coverage the entire game. The offensive line held up. What a difference these two wide receivers make, but what a difference coaching makes. McVeigh never gave up on this team. McVeigh never bailed on this team. Last night, he became the all time winning his coach in LA RAMS history, having eighty wins to his resume.
This guy's not forty.
Years old yet an incredible performance out of what they did.
And I'll wrap it with this, Oh.
All that stuff about you know, the trades, and it's fair to talk about it before the deadline, and yes, Cooper Cup is an obvious name for it, but think about what that does internally, How everyone's looking at each other and saying, well, is this true?
You doing?
The fact that they were able to stay in the pocket and stay together and just focus on the football, that's pretty cool stuff. And yes, controversial call or not, it goes their favor in this one and they win the game. There's no apologies for that one. They were dealing with the flames and the fire of just conflict and controversy and everyone you know, talking about them, they were able to focus on the football and they found a way to go three and four and stay alive.
Yeah, And I was going to say, I was going to say, don't don't count them out. You're right because last year I think they went on that same type of stretch where you know, they won on like seven of the eight of their you know.
Games three and six last year.
Yea, and they.
Turned that sucker around.
So it's very clear that they've got all the right pieces to turn it around.
I think what Peter, you and Kyle always echoed, never doubt the head coach Sean McVay being usually at the very top of that list, and last night an example of that.
But I want to circle back.
You guys mentioned just no blitzing for some reason from the Vikings Mantai as a middle linebacker.
How much of a headache is is it.
Having to go up against an offense like what the Rams had last night? And why do you think they didn't go soa blitz heavy when they that's sort of been their calling.
Card this season because you know, Shrek Thanks, it's because you can't, okay, when you have Pokin the Cool and you have Cooper cup on one side, and and to Shrek's part, if they were doubling these guys.
So that's four defenders. You only have seven left.
Four of them are the d linemen, right, so take those four all, you really only have three.
So now what are you going to do with those three? Right?
So you watch it just how that compliments the whole dynamic. And and you know off Bar mentioned the motioning of the rams like they weren't doing that before. You know why they weren't doing that before because they didn't have those two who motions all the time, Cooper, Cup and Pook and the cool So why is Sean McVay going to require somebody else who doesn't do.
It to do it for the past few weeks. He's not going to.
So he had all of his little jewels waiting for when when they came back, he was going to roll out the red carpet. And what a way to roll out the red carpet here in La next door. I know it was a party because they look like one on TV. But you can't blitz as a defense when you're so afraid of all of the different pieces and where Sean McVay puts them on the football field, you just play defense.
Yeah, And looking at the numbers, Pooka Nakua Cooper Cup total one hundred and sixty two total yards. The other players on the field for the Rams two hundred and twenty eight total yards, so almost half their production.
Big night there for the Rams.
We do need to talk about some injuries that happened last night in just around the league as we head into wiki welcoming now our insider Ian Rappaport.
The Vikings with.
The loss last night, and they lost a key player on the offensive line and you know, also a couple of quarterbacks you're keeping your eyes on as we head into the weekend.
We'll start with Christian daris On, one of the best young left tackles in the NFL, got paid big time before the season, a key piece of the Vikings moving forward.
He got rolled up on.
Pretty early in the game was quickly ruled out with what was described as a knee injury. Often when you see an injury like this, it is.
A knee sprain.
But he is going to have an MRI today just did if that is true and the severity of this more information coming with coach Kevin O'Connell is saying after the game. He is hoping and optimistic for good news, but nothing clear until they get the MRI. Usually when players are ruled out quickly, not a great sign, but we will see. Talking of the quarterbacks, Jaden Daniels, the star quarterback for the Washington Commanders, one of the best young players in the NFL regardless of position, hasn't.
Practiced yet this week.
Didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday deal with the rib injury. The plan was to see somehow someway if he could practice today. If he did, maybe he can go for that big time showdown with the Bears. We don't know yet whether or not that is going.
To be the case.
Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers also dealing with an injury.
He is expected to play.
That's one thing that jeff Oldbrick, the interim coach, has been clear about earlier in the week.
Rodgers is expected to go.
He's dealing with the knee injury that he had last week when he kind of banged it. Now deal with a hamstring injury seems like more maintenance than anything else. He's forty years old, something obviously to watch. And then for the Miami Dolphins to a Tugoballoa still on injury reserve at his practice window twenty one day practice window open. He was a full participant in yesterday's practice as he tries to recover from the concussion that landed him on ir My understanding is the expectation. Expectation is that two ways clear from the nfo's concussion protocol today and should be good to.
Go for Sunday.
We are waiting final word of that would be very, very good news for the Miami Dolphins.
Yeah, the game is better with all three of those quarterbacks playing.
We have to just wait and see.
Ian.
We appreciate that insight, Thank you so much. Now coming up a guy that we also love seeing him playing so well, Jordan Love and his tight end Tucker Craft, joining us right here to discuss things Green Bay his quarterback. Can they make the pack? Can the pack make it four in a row? Upwara, I might go change into my packers jacket.
Oh, coming on, all right, we'll see if you changed into it. And plus it's Friday and it's time to dive into our Mad Minute segment.
It goes fast.
Please, can they can they stay on the unbeaten path or are they on upset alert.
It's Sin City that's coming up next.
Good football.
Wednesday, he got traded.
Yesterday he was on the practice field, DeAndre Hopkins joining his new teammates as the Kansas City Chiefs getting ready to take on the Raiders.
Coach rede is, do you how going to play on Sunday? Wondering mind? You want to know?
Well, it could be this weekend. We'll just we'll see how he picks. I've got him on the practice right, Why wait right? If he can without putting them in a bad position.
Coach re setting us up perfectly for a round of mad Man going to put a minute on the clock, previewing as many games as we can. We are going to start there with Chiefs and Raiders. Akbar, you're going to start remember a minute on the clock as.
Your former team Raiders.
Here.
What are you looking for in this one?
Well?
Remember last year, you know the Raiders got one on the Chiefs. But I think in this game, I believe that the Kansas City Chiefs they're going to put out DeAndre Hopkins out there, get him going. This is a Raiders team that has struggled, but don't.
Trip this defense. It's pretty tough for the Raiders.
Yeah, the defense is pretty pretty tough, led by Robert Splaine. He's playing solid. Alex Madison is playing solid. But there's not a lot of highlights to this Las Vegas Raiders team outside of Crosby and rock Powers. I know they're having a lot of issues at the quarterback position. Davonte Adams has traded, so a lot of respect to them for responding and going out there and competing every week. But it's going to be a tough test to come this week.
There's always a weird Raiders Chiefs game every season for Kansas City. Last year was on Christmas Day on national television with Taylor Swift in the crowd.
This one it's in Vegas.
Everyone's crowning the chief because they got Hopkins.
Do they take the foot off the pedal? I think that's.
Andy Reid's message all week, like we know this team always shows up and plays against us hard.
Do not let them get a lead early.
I gotta think the Chiefs take care of business. There's just not enough offensive firepower in Vegas right now.
And as you think the Chiefs welcoming d hop this will be the Raiders first game without DeVante Adams. Moving on, we have an AFC North matchup between the Ravens and the Browns.
Mantai. Can the Ravens make this six wins in a row?
I think it's going to be six wins wins in a row, especially against a Cleveland brown team that just lost on Martin Cooper.
They traded him to the Bills.
And they have Jamis Wiston now, so James, I'm a big fan of Jamis. Jamis says, do this, bro, Let's do this. Get that pre game speech, Let's get it down then and let's go. I know Nick Chubb is back to miss he was hype about that. So I'm I'm really excited to see what this Browns team looks like going into this week. It's a whole new front. It's a whole new quarterback, whole new system. Hopefully it's a whole new field. But with the Baltimore Ravens coming into the town, it's gonna be difficult.
Yeah. Look, it's a short week for the Ravens.
They played Monday night and although they did put up a lot of points, they gave up a ton of points in yards to Baker Mayfield, and Baker Mayfield went up and down the field. I think Jamis gives the Browns a little bit of a lift here. I think this game is going to be a lot closer than everyone anticipates.
And I do think Nick Chubb.
In his second game, is any get his legs going. I don't see this as a runaway win for the Ravens, but I do think they'll get the best of the Browns.
And I agree. I think you're right. I think this games could be pretty close. The Browns defense, they know the Ravens pretty well, so look out for that.
Good way to get the comment in there. Yes, all right?
Next up Jalen Hurts and the Eagles heading the Cincinnati taking on Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
Peter, what is catching your eye here?
Yeah?
The Eagles defense is a live Vic Fangio came in and a lot of people were rolling their eyes the first few weeks saying nothing's changed, same thing. Last week they were absolutely dominant on Daniel Jones, and the week before that they were in the backfield the entire game when they won that game.
So they won two in a row.
Now Eagles defense is finally live and.
I love their their backfield.
Two rookies Quinion Mitchell and Cooper Dejeene. The two of them are playing excellent. I think the Eagles get the best of the Bengals on Sunday. Oh okay, all right, well I see it maybe going the other way. I think, you know, this is a must win for both teams. I think both of them need this.
But I do like the combination of Jamar Chase and Burrow on this one. The Eagles may be a little too reliant on the big splash plays, but yeah, I'm gonna probably say Bengals on this one.
Yeah, I like the Bengals.
If I'm Cincinnati, I'm putting on the first half of last night's game and watching word justin. Jefferson was catching all of his passes that ten to fifteen yard range from the line of scrimmage. That's the weakness of a quarters defense. Vic Fangio loves quarters defense. Hit Jamar Chase and T Higgins in that window, you'll be fine.
And this is Jalen Hurt's first time playing against Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
That's a really fun matchup.
Of those two.
The Cardinals, now they're facing the Dolphins, will be the return of two of more than likely Acara. Obviously, we're going to watch the quarterback in this one, but anything else catching your.
Eye, well, I mean, like the Tool one is the one. I think everybody's paying attention. I think it's going to be a high flying, high scoring game. I mean, I think we're going to see a lot of points going out there. I think especially too, I think we're going to see the offense too. For the Miami Dolphins, wake up. We haven't seen a lot of Tyreek making those big splash plays, those fask routes that he used to But now you get two, I think it comes live. They've had a circle of quarterbacks to his back.
I said yesterday what I was going to do. I got no expectations. I'm just going to enjoy too. I will say, I want to see the Marvin Harrison junior connection with Kyler Murray and it start to flourish. It's been a little slow late. I want to see that kick in.
I don't know if I can enjoy it. I'll be completely honest. I'm gonna be kind of white knuckling it with Tua.
But I think that's part of what the story is, that's he's gotten medically cleared. He wants to play. Let the man pursue his dreams to be an NFL quarterback. And if you're a Dolphins fans, you saw why they paid him the money. Look how bad the team looked without him on offense. I think the Dolphins come out hot, and I think it's like September and October and November of every other year where Tua and Tyreke they'll put up points.
Yeah yeah, let's go move ahead and talk about the NFC West. Yeah, my goodness, Josh Allen, the bill is taking on the Seahawks.
Man, Tay, where do you want to take us in this matchup?
I don't know how long the Seattle Seahawks can keep up with this shotgun heavy offensive approach to the game. It's a game that really restricts you. I know, DK Metcalf is questionable, So who did they turn to watch out for?
Bobo?
I like him as a receiver to come in there and fill in those shoes. But my favorite, one of my favorite players in NFL right now is Keon Coleman. So I like the way he plays and I'm hoping for a successful Sunday for him this week.
I gave Keon Coleman my Rookie of the Week award on Wednesday. Man ti one hundred and twenty five yards. He had more receiving yards than any other receiver in all of football last week.
And yet I'm looking at Seattle coming.
Off that win in Atlanta where they won thirty four to fourteen, feel themselves a little bit national television. Brady on the call, I think Gino Smith puts up a big game as well.
Yeah, two the best passers probably in the game right now. I mean they're playing lights out. I know that the Seattle Seahawks they want to stay in front. I mean, in the NFC West, it is pretty loaded. You've got the Rams coming up right behind them. They want to stay up in front of the.
Forty nine ers.
Josh Allen the taking very good care of the ball so far this season, going to see if he can keep that streak going. Now we look to Sunday night, the Cowboys entering a bye week forty nine or entering from a bye week forty nine ers kind of limping in here. This is a marquee matchup of the weekend here, Peter.
Both teams come in hurting egos, Pride. Injuries everywhere all over the field for both squads. I look at that forty nine Ers team and how things went down last week against the Chiefs and national television, you gotta think Debo is hopefully going to be back on the field. And Ricky Piersall is a name that I would watch. Didn't do much against the Chiefs last week. Obviously, we know his story coming back from being shot in the summer, and it was on the field last week. I think he's going to play a big role in this big game in Santa Clair.
Yeah, first off, piers Like, he's the dude rocks man. I love that story, that whole story about him making this comeback in such a short time. But the forty nine Ers, they have owned the Dallas Cowboys for a very long time, and I think that they're going to continue to dominate, especially in the run game.
Yeah, you know we're talking about Rocky Piersoll, but Jawan Jennings, him and him and Brock perty have been the highlight to me besides George Kittle that San Francisco forty Niners offense. And I can't go against Fred Warner, but man, there's a lot of injuries on that side of the ball.
It'd be a good weekend.
I think we did pretty good on timing too, So scoota job, everybody.
That was great sharing on Riday.
We didn't get buzzed a.
Little bit, big one in La last night.
The Rams get the victory and dodges the Yankees tonight out of Chavez Ravine.
But what do you got in the NFL's news wire.
Yeah, and you got the Lakers playing downtown. You have USC playing at the Coliseum. Extremely busy. It's also a holiday weekend in the NFL. National tight Ends Day coming up on Sunday, and once a year, one of the nation's most exclusive schools invites an elite group of students to Nashville for three days of intensive learning and a whole lot more. Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Greg Olsen welcome you to tight End University.
Appreciate you guys all coming.
Today's probably our biggest workday, just giving guys more tools in their toolbox that.
They can use.
Trav's going to start us off with a little cut.
Up forgot to read the manual.

That's me.

We're here to get better, We're here to have a time.
Do your freak.
You owe me.
Watch will Day.
Sney premieres tomorrow at one o'clock Eastern on CBS and eight o'clock eastern right here on NFL Network. And speaking of tight ends, coming up, he is a yak machine. He scored a couple of touchdowns when Cherry and I were at the game against the Packers and Rams a couple of weeks ago. He's Packers tight end Tucker Kraft, and he's joining the show next.
You're in Good Morning Football.
Good Morning Football.
We are so excited for this guest.
We are back here on GMFB and joining us for the first time is a second year tight end out of Timberlake, South Dakota who is taking the nation by storm, both with his play and with his positive energy. Packers tight end Tucker Craft, Welcome to the show.
Good morning, Tucker.
It's early in Green Bay and the Packers are coming off. You had another big win where you guys beat the Texans in a close one, but the play of the day was the beautiful diving touchdown catch that you had. You have become one of Jordan Love's most reliable weapons and one of the favorite players. What's it been like year number two and what's it been like getting this offense reacclimated now that Love is back on the field.
Yeah, it all starts with getting our boys leader back in the mix again and been getting the offense running smoothly. Not that there was anything you know, wrong with Malik. He came in and he did a terrific job. But yeah, getting getting Jordan back, getting getting the offense acclimated again to to winning these games. You know, the Texas came in and they were a good football team and we came down of the wire. We won with McManus. But it's been great. Green Bay is a wonderful place. I feel feel pretty rooty here now it's biggest city I've ever lived in, so Packer Roland.
We're gonna try to keep it that.
Way, all right, you'll, so Tuck, I want you to take a look at something. This is a pretty cool thing. I think you'll appreciate it. You are leading all wide receivers and tight ends in yards after catch so far, are like this is nuts. I mean, I just want you to appreciate the names here. I mean there's some really big names there. What makes you so dangerous with the ball in your hands?
Man?
Look at that you got Jaden and Rashi Rice, and I mean Jamar Chase like you you at the top dog.
Yeah, I guess it kind of just goes back to the high school days playing running back amongst nine on nine football in South Dakota. As soon as I catch the ball, I just you know, I consider myself a running back and I see you run lanes and probabilities and and how I can use my my offhand as a weapon. And that's something I really pride myself on too, is the yards after catch because it juices up the boys, you know, everyone else.
You know, they kind of want a piece of the.
Rock and they get their chance with it and they're gonna they're gonna spark some some juice amongst the offense as well.
Okay, so so Craft, this is this is your boy. Ok boy, you're talking to we just met. You can't tell me you're not getting excited about that.
You see your name up there making.
You know, you sitting in that time the pops and you're brows and.
You know what I mean, Like you excited? Man, that's nice.
Yeah, it's it's it's a thrill. You know.
My first thing as soon as I catch the ball is trying to make the first guy miss.
That's what I'm talking about.
I just want to be a ruthless ball carrier when I get the ball.
I want I want people to worry about me, consider me a liability, you know, in the in the secondary. I just I think that people just can't tackle me sometimes. And that's the mentality you got to run with ruthless.
I mean, we've seen it on the field.
It's been such a pleasure to watch you play, and with your quarterback.
I'm a Packer fan. I won't hide it.
So our quarterback, Jordan Love, we've really seen him blossom as a starter and he's been playing exceptional ball this year. Tell us more what it's like having him in the locker room. What kind of dude is Jordan Love?
Yeah, Jordan Jorones a leader.
You can tell it's natural when you're around him too, because just the calmness that he presents himself with even when we're down in a game, like the poise and the not necessarily like in a bad way, but the spirit he's able to still play with. He's still going to put the ball out there because he trusts us as playmakers, and we trust him. We're gonna we're gonna go out there and get it. But yeah, Jordans, Jordan's the lead from the front guy. And you know, I'm sure glad like I said with with Xavier, like, I'm sure a guy.
He's on our side.
I'd hate to have to have our defense matchup against our quarterback. Gladly I get to see it in practice every day. But yeah, Jordan is an exceptional quarterback and a leader.
You know I love about Tucker's that he really lights up when he talks about other people, when he talks about himself.
Very modest, you know, so you know.
Kind of fitting off of that Tucker, you know, Packer fans are some of the best in the NFL. What's it like having them and do you have any memory, like memorable, memorable stories that you could share with us.
Yeah, I'm Packers fans are great.
Just the traditions that are rooted in lambeau Field and how historic of a place it is, with you know, the Lombardi Trophy and everything amongst that, It's just a pleasure, one to be able to play in the league, but two to start my career hopefully stay the rest of my career in Green Bay as a Packer. Just this place is special and the fans are special. You know, we have this celebratory lambeau Leap and even our kicker got to get in.
On it this last weekend.
But yeah, this place is special, the locker room environment, even it's people come here from other teams and tell us how good we got it.
So I'm just positive amongst that.
Look, I know, I'm sitting here in New York and my co hosts are in LA and it comes off as patronizing or condescending or we're like, he's from a small town in South Dakota, but the population is five.
Hundred from where you grew up.
And now you're in the NFL on the biggest of stages.
That is a massive leap.
Can you take us into Timberlake, South Dakota and tell us what it's like in that town and give your hometown some love and what really contributed to helping you become the man you are today.
Yeah.
I can't say enough good things about the place I came from. How all those those roots are still instilled in me. And I come from a small town, and you know, tragedy struck me in my family when I was young, my dad passed away, but I had so many people from the community. Like the positive things about being from a small town is I had I had so many great men and women, you know, everyone coming together to help support me and my family through what we were going through. And that support never stopped. I continued to grow into the athlete I am today. And I have people constantly, you know, reaching out from my hometown or people just being extremely supportive and asking nothing from me just because they.
Just want to be along on the ride.
And I hope that throughout my career I can continue to give love.
Back to my hometown.
And that's why, you know, I was honored to be become a member of the tribe that I grew up on, the Shine River Shoe tribe, and I wear that patch on my helmet, you know, just as like a beacon of thanks towards towards all the people that I've I've got to interact with and all the people that have shown me support along along this way.
I'm just very blessed, really.
Tucker, thank you for sharing that story.
Man.
It takes a village, and clearly Timberlake, South Dakota has been that village for you.
You know.
I want to also to give a little shout out because I know you've got a birthday coming up week nine, and you're gonna be going up against the Detroit Lions. You got a birthday, you got a birthday dance for us ault with a touchdown.
I guess we we'll have to find out. I'm not a really big planner.
Sometimes I'm just as surprised I got in the end zone as you guys. So the whole yards after catching will be crazy sometimes. But you know, maybe maybe I'll just give a big birthday spike.
All Right, I'm watching.
I'm gonna be watching, man, I'm gonna be watching.
Well, we are all celebrating this weekend for National tight Ends Day?
What does that mean to you?
And just how wonderful is it that we get to celebrate your position? And do we need to ask is this a guaranteed touchdown that I'm hearing then? Or maybe an agree run for Kyle Branton for National tight Ends Day from you?
Yeah?
Yeah, I'll have to pick between the two, hopefully both one resulting in the other.
But yeah, National National tight End Day.
Just the tight end position in general, it's the way it's changed throughout the league over the last few decades. Even it's just a very virtual position. We're asked to do a lot and to have our own holiday just feels like a little maybe thank you.
From the NFL from sponsoring us so much. But it's it's a.
Special position, special guys for sure, in every tight end room.
But yeah, it's a great time for sure.
Tucker, real quick as we wrap it's National Titans Day. I know that you guys all have this camaraderie in this brotherhood. Have you met Travis kelcey, And if you have, do you have a Travis kelce story?
Yeah?
I mean being a small town kid and seeing all these essentially celebrities on the field for the first time, like the first time I saw Pat Mahomes warming up, or like meeting Jordan Love and just these practicing against for Shaun Gary and Presto Smith. These just these things, these these little blessings you get as a as a young player meeting all these influential guys on these teams. The first time I met Travis was actually at Titan You the summer before my rookie year, and he just gets on.
The elevator with me as we're going up to this.
UH group and looked at my my now wife, and I go, that's that's Travis Kelsey. I kind of like, you know, I'm like, hey, man, like huge fan.
No, yeah, it was. It was, you know, he's he's one of the greats.
Got so great in Nashville with with a lot of the great Statis Clark, Greg Olson, you know, and soon to be you know, George George was there.
Yeah, Gronk. I got to meet Gronk.
Cool, awesome, dude, Good luck, have an amazing week this week, but also keep going all season and keep making your hometown proud. It's so cool to get to know you tuck around behalf of Good Morning Football in the NFL Network. Thanks for joining us this morning.
Sucker, so healthy.
You've been exciting to watch you all season long.
And look at this little lambo leap love. You took anything less from Packer fans, hopefully one of many.
You got boosties.
Tight end day one, another one
