Published Jan 2, 2020, 10:00 AM

Katie reflects on her sweeping first season tackling topics like the spread of online hate and the hype of CBD, not to mention one-on-one interviews with some headline-grabbing names, including Greta Gerwig and Ronan Farrow. But while Next Question takes a brief hiatus to prepare for the next big season, Katie wants to know, what are the issues that keep you up at night? Find out how to connect with Katie, and your next question could be explored in season 2, coming in early 2020.

Next Question with Katie Kuric is a production of I Heart Radio and Katie Kuric Media. Hi everyone, I'm Katie Kuric and welcome to Next Question. We've just wrapped up our very first season. I'm really proud of the topics we explored in every episode, topics that were not always easy to listen to, like the impact of violent porn not only on women, but also on our kids and the way they view sex and relationships. A lot of the boys and young men who are being brought up on pornography are playing poorn secs out on these girls, the women and girls of the collectual damage of the poor and industry. And we explored the dangerous contagion of online hate when it comes to the social media companies, as these are megaphones that are directed in every direction. This is just tremendous amplification for these ideas, and members of hate groups and their leaders have proven that they're very good at manipulating them. We also tested out some CBD products to try to get a handle on all the hype. So I have this tin shirt Peppermint, and it says high CBD. Okay, here here I go. But I also got the chance to sit down one on one with some big personalities to talk about the issues close to their hearts. Greta Gerwig, for example, on why women's stories are human stories. Everyone has a family, everybody understands, everybody comes from somewhere. Everybody knows what it is to love and what it is to lose. Ronan Pharaoh on the reporting that jump started me too. She was brave and not just in talking to me, but in allowing me to tell the full story of the fact that when I first picked up the phone and called her, she panicked and said, no, I don't know anything. We also had a lot of fun at the time. I played match Maker match Maker and set up a surprise phone call between Jennifer Garner and her personal icon Julie Andrews. Hello, Hello, is this Jin. Yes, this is Julie Andrews Jin. Hello. I'm super excited about next season because we'll be exploring things I really want to understand better, like America's staggering maternal mortality rate and the environmental impact of meat. But dear listeners, what are your questions? Maybe you want to better understand something that's happening in the news or something that's happening in your own life. Maybe you have a burning question you're dying to ask one person in particular I want to know. Send me your big question and perhaps we'll look flore those in the upcoming season. Call in and leave me a detailed message. Keep a clean people, and your voicemail could be used in an upcoming episode. The number is eight four four four seven nine seven eight eight three. That number eight four four four seven nine seven eight eight three operators are standing by. Not really, but we do have a recording.
