Throughout the pandemic, social media has given us the closest thing many of us can imagine to an inside view of intensive care units overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients. Many have been or still are fighting for their lives - whether they contracted the virus through their workplace, from a family member, or somewhere in the community.
Shots can't get into arms fast enough to quell Ontario's third wave, but they are making a difference. However, doctors are warning that a single shot is not a silver bullet. Some of the top infectious disease specialists in our province say anecdotally, they have seen patients come through their hospitals after getting their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
