WAYNE CHAN - It became known as the Silk Dress Cryptogram — a coded message found on paper that had been tucked into the hidden pocket of an antique dress purchased by a Maryland-based costume collector. And as many hobbyist code-crackers had tried before him, when University of Manitoba computer research analyst Wayne Chan came across the code in 2018, he couldn’t help but give it a shot. After nearly a decade of people around the globe trying to crack the code, Wayne Chan has, at long last, done just that. He joins fill-in host Tamara Cherry to discuss the journey and what that code was all about.
