PFC Mikkie K. Blanchard,
The United States Army – Korean War
Jan. 1952 – Oct. 1953

Private First-Class Mikkie Blanchard was called in for a physical for The United States Army on December 17th, 1951.  He was officially sworn in January 31st, 1952 and reported to Camp San Luis in Obispo, CA.  There, he completed basic training and an 8-week training course in a Signal Corp School. He was then shipped out to Korea.  He was stationed at Headquarter Message Center with The 3rd Infantry and honorably discharged and returned  home on October 30th, 1953. He didn’t talk too much about the war but always said his trip over on the ship was all the traveling he wanted to do and was content to stay home with the love of his life and raise a family on their farm in Northeast Missouri.
