PLOT: BACKROOMS is about a strange doorway that appears in the basement of a furniture showroom.

It is set in 1990, and this furniture store owner is dealing with the fallout of his divorce. He’s seeing a therapist, living in the store, and is growing frustrated with the power surges that keep making the lights and appliances flicker at the store. 

While messing with the fuse box one day, he sees a tiny crack in a wall and discovers a portal into an ominous world made up of confusing mazes that look like office space with yellow wallpaper, drop ceilings, buzzing fluorescent lights, and wall-to-wall damp, dirty off-white carpet.
