to discuss:
Louis County bungled sales tax payments. Cities want an audit. From the article: Cities in St. Louis County are asking Missouri to audit how the County has distributed millions in sales tax dollars after several cities caught the county underpaying them over the summer. The move would scrutinize how the county shares roughly $200 million annually in sales tax revenue with 87 municipalities, from large communities like Florissant to retail giants like Brentwood and small suburbs of a few hundred people, like Bella Villa. Under a complex, state-mandated formula, the county each month pools proceeds from a 1% countywide sales tax, and some portion of a .25% local option tax in some cities, and distributes shares based on population and other factors.
David can discuss some of the items St. Louis area voters will see on the ballot next month.
Including:
St. Louis County seniors’ tax
• St. Louis City childcare tax
• Chesterfield use tax
• Parkway and Webster Groves schools’ property tax
