Last week, President Trump nominated Keith Sonderling as Secretary of Labor. Sonderling has served as Acting Secretary since the departure of Lori Chavez-DeRemer, who exited under a cloud of professional misconduct allegations.

The selection comes as the Senate is expected to soon take up Trump’s nomination of James Macy to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). The committee meeting is scheduled for July 15. That confirmation is critical, as Macy could provide the third vote needed to begin overturning radical Biden-era NLRB rulings.
