This interview was recorded a while ago and was originally planned as part of our Supplementary Question mini-series but unfortunately, National's time of troubles came about after the interview and the news cycle forced all side projects onto the back burner.

We're posting an edited version of our conversation here because it was a fascinating discussion and it would have been a shame to let it go to waste. 

There will be moments of Todd Muller being referred to as National leader and other utterances which will date the interview a little but most of our conversation focuses on broader issues which are less time-sensitive
