Known for his love of Urdu poetry and the "Qawali Hour" programme on Sundays, Bhai Azad hailed from a humble background. While his radio career was relatively short, he spent decades hosting at various religious institutions and social gatherings. Bhai Azad was also an avid traveller, often visiting India, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Lotus FM Religious Producer Segren Naidoo spoke to Newsbreak's Matthew Veeran about Bhai Azad's life.
