Durban had been hand selected in the Chinese capital of Beijing to host this conference made up of key players from the international scene. The country is faced with serious shortages and challenges with regards to water supply from daily pipes bursting and the fact that over 50-percent of water generated is either lost by damaged infrastructure or stolen through illegal water connections.
