By Newsbreak Producer Taliesha Naidoo - Residents are being urged to NOT store water for long periods during water-related restrictions as this could be a health hazard. That's according to Professor Faizal Bux, director of the Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology at the Durban University of Technology. This as water supply will be interrupted to more than 20 areas in the north and south of Durban from tomorrow morning until this Friday. The water restrictions are to allow uMgeni Water to conduct essential work on a vital aqueduct. Some of the areas that will be affected include Phoenix, Effingham, Umhlanga, Shallcross, Chatsworth, Umlazi and Queensburgh. The eThekwini Municipality is urging residents to use water sparingly during this period to prevent reservoirs from running dry.
