The station is located outside a private hotel and will support the existing Inanda Police Station in intensifying the fight against crime in the area. In the latest quarterly crime statistics, Inanda emerged as the station with the highest number of reported murders and rapes in the country. Transport Minister Barbara Creecy is pushing for a zero-tolerance drinking and driving law proposed through the National Road Traffic Amendment Bill. This after analysis has proven that drinking and driving largely contributes to road fatalities in the country. Therapeutic Manager for The South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Rudhika Naidoo, says a ban on drinking and driving is welcomed, however work needs to be done to do the same with being under the influence of drugs while behind the wheel...
