Transport Minister Barbara Creecy is pushing for a zero-tolerance drinking and driving law proposed through the National Road Traffic Amendment Bill. This after analysis has proven that drinking and driving largely contributes to road fatalities in the country. Therapeutic Manager for The South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Rudhika Naidoo, says a ban on drinking and driving is welcomed, however work needs to be done to do the same with being under the influence of drugs while behind the wheel...

That's according to a close industry colleague and Editor of the Sunday Times, S'thembiso Msomi. "Paddy" passed away peacefully on Saturday at the age of 58 after an illustrious journalism career which extended over several leading media houses. These included Independent Media, City Press, The Times and most recently, the Mail & Guardian, where he served as Political Editor. Msomi says Harper's dedication to journalism was unequalled...
