By Newsbreak Producer, Tashlan Naidoo - KwaZulu-Natal police are on the hunt for an unknown number of suspects after alleged drug lord Brandon "Puff" Kalicharan, his wife Jecohniah Pillay and their 9 year old daughter were killed in a drive-by shooting yesterday afternoon. According to police, Kalicharan was being investigated by the HAWKS for alleged drug related activities in the Chatsworth area, south of Durban. Police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda says they are concerned about a possible retaliation if this is in fact a turf-war related incident....

Transport Minister Barbara Creecy is pushing for a zero-tolerance drinking and driving law proposed through the National Road Traffic Amendment Bill. This after analysis has proven that drinking and driving largely contributes to road fatalities in the country. Therapeutic Manager for The South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Rudhika Naidoo, says a ban on drinking and driving is welcomed, however work needs to be done to do the same with being under the influence of drugs while behind the wheel...
