By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - The KwaZulu-Natal Subsistence Fisherfolk Forum has given the local Economic Development, Tourism & Environmental Affairs department one week to respond to their demands or further mass action will be taken. This after scores of fisher folk embarked on a mass march along the Durban beach front earlier this week demanding access be granted to fishing spots which were used for decades before the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup. They say a year prior to the event, these spots were closed off and never reopened among other issues such as alleged harassment.
