Viroshnee Gounden, Fezile Mpanza and Jaishaan Pillay took their team to the top three at the Innovate Durban: Youth Innovation Challenge last week. An initiative by Ethekwini Municipality, the competition encourages young innovators to create technological innovations- with a sustainable purpose. These three UKZN engineering students came up with the idea of making a can crusher: to keep their college clean and also incentivise their peers.
