By Newsbreak Executive Producer Salma Patel - King Shaka International Airport announced plans to build an Airport City or Aerotropolis. The billion rand project that runs until 2030 plans to feature an onsite hotel, office development with retail stores and a public transport facility. KSIA Regional General Manager Nkosinathi Myataza, says the airport has recovered by 68% of pre-COVID passengers throughout the last fiscal, with domestic traffic contributing the most to the airport's recovery. However, King Shaka remains behind OR Tambo. International Airport and Cape Town International Airport, which have recovered 72% and 76% respectively.
