Newly elected Johannesburg mayor Thapelo Amad says he's ready to hit the ground running. The Al Jama-ah councillor emerged victorious with 138 votes at council- consolidated by support from the ANC, EFF and PA. This follows the Vote of No Confidence that ousted Mpho Phalatse from the mayoral seat. But criticism has been levelled against Amad- about his status as a minority party and his efforts to maintain the autonomy of Al Jama-ah as a party.
