By Newsbreak Producer, Matthew Veeran - Today, the Pietermaritzburg High Court will re-open the inquest into the death of apartheid-era dentist Dr. Hoosen Mia Haffejee, who was allegedly killed at the hands of the former Police Special Branch. In 1977, Dr. Haffejee - who was merely 26-years-old at the time - was abducted and arrested by police en route to work. He was taken to the Brighton Police Station and was declared dead 20 hours later. Reports suggest that he had hanged himself, but his family vehemently refute those claims - saying he was tortured and killed by police. Imtiaz Cajeee, the nephew of murdered anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Timol, has been following this case. He says he's hopeful the inquest will help bring closure to the Haffejee family...
