By Newsbreak Producer Shanell Daniel - Increased tug availability at the Port of Durban is set to ensure a quicker turnaround of vessels and allow for terminal operators to implement the Container Recovery Plan speedily. The Port of Durban has increased tug availability to an average of six tugs as of December and expect the delivery of three second-hand tugs in the first quarter of 2024. This comes after heavy delays and congestion experienced this year, which resulted in vessels piling up at the port.
