By Newsbreak Producer Rachel Vadi - Struggle activist and MK operative - Yunis Shaik - detailed the torture he endured at hands of apartheid security forces in the 1980s - during the reopened inquest into the death fellow comrade Dr Hoosen Haffejee. Haffejee died while in police detention in 1977. His death was initially ruled a suicide by hanging in 1978. Meanwhile, leading Human Rights Lawyer and former Deputy Chair of the Human Rights Violation Committee at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission - Yasmin Sooka - says it's important for South Africans to hear the brutality of the torture endured by the struggle activists. She says their sacrifices must be preserved in our nation's history...
