There's been a reduction in the percentage of people living with HIV in South Africa. The rate decreased from 14.0% in 2017 to 12.7% in 2022- meaning currently 7.8 million people are living with HIV. This was a key finding in the Human Sciences Research Council's Sixth South African National HIV Prevalence, Incidence and Behaviour survey. Of the South African Indian population: 1.2% are HIV positive. But concerns have been raised about this communities reluctance to confront this epidemic. HSRC's Dr. Shandir Ramlagan and head of RK Khans Outreach HIV AIDS Clinic Dr. Jaysingh Brijkumar joined the conversation.
